I started shopping for a security camera system, primarily to have a way to check on the house and, frankly, for a new gadget to play with. I have to say that I am extremely happy with this Zmodo product. The price point is phenomenal and configuration was very straightforward (granted I am in IT). The Zmodo App & Web Site for remote viewing is feature rich and reliable. The night vision quality is excellent and I love the flashback feature which plays an entire day's worth of video very quickly.**It appears that when there is not any motion detected, the cameras save a picture to the cloud every ten seconds. Video records when motion is detected. This isn't an issue for me but just an FYI if you have stricter requirements.**I recommend taking some time to brainstorm the camera installation. All of these cameras need to connect to the repeater that is included for PoE & network connectivity. Most of my time was spent figuring out where I wanted coverage, placement and how to bring the cables into the house in a way that hides cables and keeps the installation clean.Short answer: I am extremely happy with the product. Excellent camera quality. Easy to use. Provides expansion up to 8 cameras on one repeater. There is no need to buy cables because they are all included (make sure lengths are sufficient for your needs). A great way to implement home security in a cost-effective way!

These cameras are great! Installation was simple and easy. I didn’t even have to look at the installation instructions to put the system together. The cameras function well and with a good Internet connection stream video in real time straight to my phone. The app functions very well and it the system can be customized to fit my needs. The only Area I could see for improvement is when entering promo codes for Cloud subscriptions, it was unclear that I could enter the same code more than once. I ended up with one camera been subscribed for year and a half, one camera been subscribed for six months, and two cameras without any cloud subscription at all. Other than that, amazing sister! This entire system cost me the same as a single name brand camera. Area I could see for improvement is when entering promo codes for cloud subscriptions, it was unclear that I could enter the same code more than once. I ended up with one camera been subscribed for year and a half, one camera been subscribed for six months, and two cameras without any cloud subscription at all. Other than that, amazing sister! This entire system cost me the same as a single namebrand camera.

I installed a mix of 20 cameras around my house and yard (14 wired, 6 wireless), so far (operational for 5 days now) picture quality is excellent, setup wasn't too bad (this is the 3rd updated system on my house since 2004) The new system replaced an outdated analog setup. I have the cameras setup through the Zmodo 32 Channel NVR and two repeaters to view on my TV in my living room (hooked up a wireless mouse to control from anywhere in the room) and on my Android smart phone, as well as my tablet and Chromebook....all work great. Getting away from the previous system of "Port forwarding" to view remotely was a BIG selling point. Still in the process of getting the cameras in the right viewing ordered, took a bit of time to figure out how to accomplish that, but overall not the difficult. I installed a 4Tb hard drive and the playback is working well. Still working on figuring out the motion detection for one camera I have fixed on my front door, may look into getting the Zmodo door contacts (any body have thoughts on that). Only one camera (wireless) is giving me some issues (going off line on and off)....did order a few more wireless and will replace it with a new one and see if that solves the issue. Overall pretty happy with the setup, price was reasonable for what was included....had to add some cat 5 cables, adapters, ran wires through PVC and pvc boxes to keep it water tight, so there was added expense for that, I will update this review in a few weeks after I see that every thing continues to work. (will add or subtract the stars accordingly)

Works as advertised - so far so good.Pros:* simple set up really - plug and play on a network* sPOE means a single cable run to each location. The repeater boxes make having multiple end points for the home run a bit simpler* Once it's set up, remote viewing works great - no port forwarding needed.Cons:* The cameras are dumb - zero configuration - so you can not force an IP address, netmask or anything else. If you have a simple home network this doesn't matter. In a business setting, knowing how to VLAN the cameras is a bonus.* The remote viewing setup is not the most intuitive process - and some of the channel configuration only seems to be possible via the app (night vision settings, motion detection area)
