I recently had the opportunity to buy and test out the SOG Flash MT, it is a sleek and futuristic multitool and I must say, it's quite an impressive piece of equipment. While it may not boast an extensive array of tools like some other multitools on the market, the limited selection of 7 tools is incredibly functional and useful. One standout feature of the knife is the assisted open clip point blade. The knife is not only sharp and durable, but the assisted open mechanism adds a touch of convenience and ease when accessing it. What's particularly noteworthy is that the knife doesn't accidentally open when the pliers are in use, a flaw that has been mentioned by other users in different models. This ensures safety during handling and prevents any unwanted accidents. Another aspect that caught my attention is the overall design and weight of the multitool. I am not a multitool junkie but I have owned a number of them. I am not one to wear a fanny pack or dedicated sheath for the tool. Leatherman tend to be chunky and bulky and the steel seems lower quality. I have all multi tools have trade offs. This one has easy blade access, spring assist and D2 cryo steel. The pliers are a bonus. For EDC pocket carry I have not found a better tool. Yes it’s wobbly. Yes the handle sucks. Using the side cutters on something substantial I have had it open up on me without the safety on but I didn’t get stuck and after the third time remembered it had a safety. Also I don’t love liner locks. BUT I carry this everyday and for the utility I haven’t found anything better.

Great tool carry it everyday

Assisted open mechanism broke every single time, returned to SOG twice, neither time did they fix the original they just sent a brand new one in new packaging, so thats THREE of these that wont stay stowed, so pretty pointless tool. The rest of the tool is just fine and actually is perfect for what I need, but can't close/lock the knife.

I was looking for a good multi tool I could carry in my pocket with a pocket clip and this is it. The pliers work very well and the knife, while small, is also quite good. The screwdriver isn't really great as it's hard to get any kind of torque with it but for small jobs it's serviceable. Don't believe the video review posted about the knife coming out on its own. It seems like that guy got a defective unit since the "switch" he's engaging to deploy the knife is actually the lock for the blade. When the lock is on, the knife isn't going anywhere. I've tried reasonably hard to deploy the knife while it's locked and it doesn't budge. When using the pliers, regardless if the blade lock is on or off, the knife still won't deploy unless you want it to by pushing the thumb stud out. I have had zero worries about the knife deploying on its own. The tool is overall a bit smaller than I was expecting but that's also good for pocketability. The color way and finish are also nice.

The best part about this multi tool to that it can actually fit inside your pocket with a large smart phone. It's small enough that it does not get in the way and you will end up forgetting you have it at all. Even though it is small it's still very useful and well made. The blade lock is really nice too. My only complaint is that you'll end up inadvertently turning the blade lock off while useing the pliers from time to time.

Everything is great except the knife. It’s loose and impossible to open (yes it’s unlocked!) the blade is sharp but I have to damn near have a pair of pliers to get the knife out. They should have a buy one get one so you can use the set of pliers on one to get the knife out of the other one

I carry a knife every day, but occasionally I need more than just a knife, this gives me the additional tools to complete most tasks that require more. Looks like it is well built, sharp, as easy to carry as any of my other knives I think this will be a 'go to first' from now on.

Don't buy it. Thumb stud for the blade is so close it will end up cutting you. Bit holders is ridiculous. Safety is so stiff you need a glove to press it without breaking skin. Assist on the blade is also so stiff you can't open it without two hands. Even then it's ridiculous. The lock for said blade once open is also so stiff it engages maybe 1/10 times. Overall... this is dangerous to even use and will end up slicing your fingers. Maybe with some heavy breaking in... But that's not the piont with the price.
