button fly or zip? my son doesn't like buttons...

These are zipper-fly. Levi's 501 jeans are button-fly.

Is "Rooster" a dark wash? Thank you!

Hi JM: the 550 Relaxed fit jean in Rooster is actually a medium indigo. The fabric is 99% cotton / 1% elastane, so it has stretch properties. It's washed down to give it this jean a comfortable worn in look, as though they're your favorite pair. :) If you're wanting a darker wash, check out these 550 washes: Tumbled Rigid, Dark Stonewash or Rinse. Just regular wash. Lukewarm or warm with other dark clothes. Use color laundry detergent like Tide, or other similar products. I never, ever machine dry it completely. I take it out and air dry the rest of the way.
