I have always been a big Amazon reviewer and, at one point, moved into the Top 100. I am venturing into some of that on the side and a website dedicated to sleep apnea among veterans. I needed to update my gear to accommodate some of my YouTube videos, CPAP mask reviews, and tips and tricks. I bought this little mic with that activity in mind. I have created a short recorded review using the mic so you can judge for yourself. Given the price and the small form factor, it exceeded my expectations. If you purchase and go through the packaging, look for the orange cable (about 8" long). The charging case and little windscreen are a plus, too. In my opinion, this little mic is worth the $99 paid. It will work for its intended purpose.

I was extremely disappointed from the get go. The item arrived in a plastic bag (shown in the picture). It didn't come in a box like I've seen in the other customer reviews. Nor did it come with a charging cable and windscreen, which the description says it should. I tried out the mic just out of curiosity. It was okay. It works. It sounded decent. But I was just really bummed out at how I received the item. So disappointed

While I was excited to try the JBL microphone, I encountered a couple of snags. The included phone dongle wouldn't fit with my thin phone case on, and the audio quality itself was a downgrade from my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra's built-in mic. The JBL mic produced a tinny sound, and adding the windscreen made things muffled. The best option for this mic might be for capturing audio at a distance where your phone's internal mic wouldn't work. The sound also seems better suited for speech rather than music. Considering the $99 price tag, and the fact that the audio quality wasn't an improvement or comparable to the quality of my phone and I couldn't fit it on my phone unless I took the case off, I likely would have returned it if I hadn't received it for free.

Work easy, can hear your voice clear and don’t cost that much

This video basically sums up the quality of this mic. I had whitenoise going and it filtered that out pretty nicely. I’m also glad this is made in the US—I don’t want to pair my phone with just anything that’s out there. I got this for a great price at the start of December ($49) so I hope JBL can keep it around this price! We’re all not six-figure influencers. Some of us just need to record coursework.
