I am extremely impressed with the OWC Atlas USB4 CFexpress 4.0 Type B Card Reader. If you are working with high-resolution video or massive photo batches, this reader is a must-have. The 40Gb/s USB4 interface is incredibly fast. I noticed a significant reduction in offload times compared to my older USB-C readers; it truly maximizes the potential of CFexpress 4.0 cards while remaining backwards compatible with 2.0 cards. The build quality is exactly what you’d expect from OWC—solid, professional, and it stays relatively cool even during sustained high-speed transfers. I also appreciate the compact design and the included high-quality USB4 cable. It’s plug-and-play and has worked flawlessly with my Mac and PC setups. It’s an investment, but for the time it saves in post-production, it’s worth every penny.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I brought this card reader because the one I have now works, but transfers the files ( my pictures ) so slow and gets really hot. So hot that one time I could not hold the CFexpress card in my hand. That was when I decided to stop being cheap and buy this one. THIS CARD READER IS AWESOME. It moves my files quick fast and does not get hot. If you buy this card reader you won't regret it.

Works flawlessly. Very fast. I'm using with CFExpress type A 4.0 cards, and an getting very close to the published speeds. Important to connect with good USB C 4 cables, otherwise the speed dropped off significantly.

My iMac runs macOS 10.14.6 Mojave to be compatible with Aperture.app. There is no mention that card reader requires macOS 11.x Big Sur or later on the Amazon webpage. The Card Reader works as expected on my MacBook running a later version of macOS but not on my iMac where I need it.

I was doubtful that it was worth the price tag, but when time was short, these things made image downloads FLY. Definitely keeping.

The first time I used this reader I was completely blown away at its speed. When importing photos into Lightroom Classic from a CFexpress B card, I was used to starting the import and grabbing a beverage and perhaps a snack while it imported ~300 RAW photos from my 45 MP camera. Instead, using this reader I didn't even make it to the refrigerator before I heard the "ding" indicating the import had completed. This reader absolutely FLIES, and you won't be sorry you purchased it (unless you will miss those photo import snack/drink breaks.)

Zip lightning, got a CF card from OWC and needed to find a way to import footage from the DJI 4d into my Mac and it was not only perfect but also editable while on use without lag on Final Cut. Nice job OWC, I trusted them with my RAM on my older Mac’s so their quality is impeccable.

Nice and fast transfer for v4

SONYαユーザーですがCFexpress TypeA to B変換カードが付いてるので購入しました。問題無くCFexpress TypeAカード使えてます、注意点としては変換カードにはType Aカードを裏返して挿入して下さいね、間違って表で挿入してはいけません。0.7mThunderbolt4ケーブルも付いてきてお得ですね、おすすめ。

Very fast

以前はProGrade Digital ダブルスロットカードリーダー (PG05.5) でしたが カードが死ぬかと思う程の爆熱になるので AngelBirdの3.2gen2のカードリーダを試したら 全然発熱しないので、今度は40Gbpsのコチラも試しました。 速度は3000MB/Sを超えるし、カードの温度も 暖かくなる程度で非常に満足です。 PGのリーダーで爆熱で心配の方はコチラがおすすめです。

RED推奨cfexpressと聞いて購入。全くエラーも無く、快適に使えてます。m 2SSDに転送も100Gぐらいなら1分かかりません。大容量データーも、ストレスなく使えて助かってます。
