Generations of fun
Just as fun as I remember from childhood. Now my grandsons love it!

One of the best games
It’s a fantastic game that excites both young and adults. Among the three modes, I only play the classic mode. I wish the volume could be adjusted.

Clasic design with good modern updates
I was thrilled to find a full sized Simon game available. I read the review and was a little nervous about the modernization it underwent and I am pleased to say that the changes they made help bring Simon into the modern world without loosing any of that original feel i remember from my childhood. The modern changes: The buttons are no longer physical buttons but touch sensitive plastic. There is no off switch, just the on button on the front. The game counts down and turns off after each game if a new game is not started. There is an LED screen to indicate what game you are playing or what level you have reached. I'm not certain but I think this version is slightly larger than the original (which I am totally fine with having big hands) The down sides are minor and can be compensated for either by user adjustment or a slight modification. First as I saw a lot of negativity in other reviews that the button are touch sensitive and no longer physical buttons. If you play the original as a kid you may remember slamming your tinny fist down on those buttons. With touch sensitive surfaces you need to make the following mental adjustments: Pushing harder will not make it work better. It is touch sensitive not pressure sensitive. A light tap is all you need. (I have found this the hardest thing for the older generations to adjust to in emerging the touch screen world) Just because it is touch sensitive does not mean it is evenly sensitive across the surface. You do not have to touch the exact center but if you touch the edge of a color you can expect the same "iffy" result as if you had pressed the edge of a physical button the same size. As long as I was in the center two thirds of the color my touch was always registered. The outer section sometime sees you and sometimes doesn't just like hitting the edge of a button would sometime work and sometimes not. The last adjustment is knowing that a touch sensitive button is just that, touch sensitive. So if you touch a color with two fingers and then lift one finger and then the other it may pick that up as two touches. So my advise... don't do that. Okay, touch buttons aside, One real limitation is there is no volume control. The sound is great, clear and loud. A little too loud. The speaker holes are on the top around the "Simon" name. My solution was to simply put two strips of black electrical tape over the holes above the "Simon" name. I lined them up next to each other and carefully cut the edges to curve with the circle. I found this muted the sound to a perfect level. Loud enough to hear but not so loud as to annoy every one else in the room. The one final thing I would have liked to see is a fourth game option that is a free play, that would let you just play the buttons. I know it is small but I think it would have been a fun feature, particularly since my son is too small to play the game but does love the light up colors and sounds. It would be nice if he could play it on his own instead of having to sit in my lap and help me. I'm looking forward to the day he can understand the concept and play this himself.

Excellent version of the game!
This is a great version of the game. The digital touch mechanism is so much better than the old mechanical color buttons. The old buttons you had to smack pretty hard or hit right in the middle - it was distracting and difficult for little kids. This new version has great touch buttons that are great with just the right amount of sensitivity. My 6 year old can play it perfectly. It's also very easy to use. There are 3 cool versions of the game and just one button toggles between the three. My 6 year old has no problem picking the game he wants. Also excellent price (under $20). I'm taking a star away because there is no volume control. It's way too loud not to have some control. I've read a review that putting black electrical tape over the speaker helps a lot. I'll try that and it will probably be fine. Some reviews also mentioned this being the small key chain version...no, this is the full size version.

Great fun gift
Great gift idea no matter the age , especially good for people who need eye hand coordination, but making it fun .the lights and vibrant colors are good . The volume is good as well. I think it compact size is perfect for small tabletop or lap . Seems durable , using this for a few months with no problems.

One of my all-time favs & I was quite disappointed! :(
I have loved Simon since I received one from Santa one Christmas when I was a little girl growing up in the '70s! My daughter also loved hers when Santa brought her one in the '90s. So, when it came time to buy my oldest grandson his Christmas gifts this year, my daughter suggested we carry on the tradition and see if we could find him one! I was really excited to find they did indeed still make them and, from looking at the picture, it *appeared* the 'original' type hadn't changed much from the ones my daughter and I had enjoyed so much as kids. However, when it arrived, I was truly disappointed! I understand that with all the new technology, things are going to change. However, this is just totally NOT the Simon I remember! It's much smaller, and before you ask, I did not purchase or receive the mini/handheld type. It's just smaller in diameter and much, much thinner than the older ones. (My husband joked that they are making everything, including these, like flat screen TVs now! Ha!) Some might find this beneficial, others may not. If you're as nostalgic as I am and you really love original things, you probably won't. It just doesn't feel right in your hands. Also, it now has new 'Touch Technology'. This means you no longer have to push the different colored buttons down as before. You just firmly touch the colors as they light up. They don't move at all and sometimes they don't realize you've actually touched them. I find it a little frustrating at times. For anyone who really loved this game from their childhood, I believe you may be a little disappointed. It just seems cheaply made. However, I'm sure all these savvy computer and smart phone owning children will still get a kick out of the game itself. It's still fun! At least I hope they will, especially the younger ones. My, how quickly things have changed...and keep changing!

Hasbro's Sleek New Simon Is Three Games In One And Lots of Fun !
The new and improved Simon has exceeded my highest expectations. It is brighter, more durable, and lighter than its two predecessors. The game even has new sounds ( victory dance and cheers ). Unlike most electronic items, the batteries are included and already inserted ! The directions are brief and easy to understand. What is most remarkable about the product, and what distinguishes it above similar items, is the addition of two new games that yield entertaining interaction between two, three, or four players. This superior version of Simon also ranks #1 because it can be played by those of all ages; toddler through senior citizen. Not only does Simon exercise and improve memory, motor, and sequencing skills, but it is a brain builder as well. This exciting toy also enhances and strengthens perception and critical thinking skills that are necessary for academic, career, and social success. Simon can be enjoyed alone or with family and friends. It can be used in the classroom to stimulate enthusiastic learning, and in giant corporations for brain tune ups. My 3 year old granddaughter loves this game, and so do my 7 and 11 year old grandcousins. I love it even more than they do. We even play Simon with my 89 year old mother, who has hearing and short term memory loss. She has had a hand tremor since youth. This game has improved her conditions. For action packed excitement, brain building and great fun, Simon is worth many times its modest cost. Buy it !

Super!!!
Lässt sich gut bedienen. Macht Spaß - auch mit mehreren. Gute Konzentration ist erforderlich, gar nicht so einfach. Gehäuse ist robust. Ist schon 2x runtergefallen. Nichts passiert.

This is a full sized Simon game. It comes with batteries and is ready to use out of the package. This is a classic game that every house should have. It can be played by one person or you can pass it around and challenge others. It has different modes. The game is good quality and should last for years. Feel free to ask questions if you have any. JUST AMAZING!
When was shopping around for Simon I found a lot of them cost around £30-£40 odd pounds, which is way more than I wanted too pay. Then I found this one and was worried it would be a cheap and tacky Simon game BUT I isn't. It's great quality, works like heaven and comes with a spare pack of batteries! So much fun I am addicted and it's not even for me! Easy tap buttons no need to press hard. Well worth the price, recommended, definitely no need to pay high price when you can get this exact game for cheaper. Highly recommend, couldn't be happier!!! Amazing thank you!! My little brother is going to just LOVE it! - Sarah.
