Fantastic monitor if you can handle firmware update
Specifically reviewing the Glossy version - not Gorilla Glass and not Matte. I don't like the latter versions. Pros: This is an outstanding monitor for coding. It has excellent colors, brightness, text clarity, refresh rate, connectivity, and a stunning glossy surface with a beautiful minimalistic body design. It seems few are aware of just what a great monitor this is. For around $400, it's an awesome value. And honestly, there is no real competition for the features and unique characteristics packed into it. Cons: The firmware needs to be updated, and it can only be done using a Windows machine. Dough made stability fixes for black screens, freezes, etc. But the update process is technical, not something a consumer should be going through. This is the only reason I often hezitate to recommend this monitor to friends unless they are techy and can handle the update. Still, I give it 5 stars because I love this monitor. I have 4 of them in different locations.

Stunning visuals, a plethora of ports, but with a few idiosyncrasies that keep things… interesting.
This is a long term review of the Spectrum One 27” 4k monitor that I have been using - First off, the display quality is like a punch to the eyeballs—in a good way. Colors are so vivid that I half-expected a unicorn to prance across the screen. The 4K resolution combined with the glossy finish makes everything pop; it’s like my old monitor was a potato, and this one’s a golden, crispy French fry. Now, about that glossy Gorilla Glass. It’s sleek and makes the visuals sharper than my grandma’s tongue at Thanksgiving dinner. But beware: it also reflects everything. I caught a glimpse of my own reflection mid-game and nearly had a heart attack, thinking an NPC had broken the fourth wall. Ports galore! This thing’s got more connections than a social butterfly at a networking event. HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C—you name it. I felt like a kid in a candy store, plugging in all my gadgets. But, and it’s a big but (like, “ate too many donuts” big), the monitor has its quirks. Sometimes, when it wakes from sleep mode, it takes its sweet time, like it’s stretching and yawning before showing me the desktop. And don’t get me started on the occasional black screen when switching resolutions. It’s like the monitor’s playing a prank, and I’m not laughing. Also, a word to the wise: skip the official stand. It’s pricier than a gourmet latte, and you can find a decent VESA stand for a fraction of the cost. I got one for twenty bucks, and it holds up the monitor like a champ. In conclusion, the Dough Spectrum One is like that eccentric friend who’s a blast to hang out with but occasionally leaves you scratching your head. Stunning visuals, a plethora of ports, but with a few idiosyncrasies that keep things… interesting. If you’re up for the adventure and don’t mind the occasional hiccup, give it a whirl. Oh, and if you want a deep dive into its quirks, check out this honest review

Great Display
I took a leap of faith here by ordering Dough Spectrum One (Glossy) because the reputation of company is bad and alot of folks have had issues with their orders or product not working. As far as I am concerned Dough spectrum one is the only 4k 27 inch glossy monitor with 144z refresh display which is what I needed for my Mac studio cause I wanted smooth scrolling and macOS usage (144hz refresh rate) and brighter more detailed 4k glossy image to really pop the display. My deceision paid off and everything works fine as it should and I am happy with the product display quality. I got the glossy one. Display looks amazing and have good brightness levels even in a bright room. Bezels are thin. The only problem or complaint I have is sometimes when I lock my macOS and when display goes to sleep sometimes it takes a lot of time for display to wake up again. This happened few times only but not all the time. Apart from this everything works great and I have encountered no issues so far. Definitely recommend to someone who wants Glossy 4k displays with 144z refresh rate either for gaming or smooth OS Experience.

Very dim
It’s dim, it’s missing any additional cables, and it just doesn’t hit the way that I thought it would at 4k. I got better brightness out of my Razer 27 in monitor.

don't
It's hard being someone who likes glossy monitors. Apple gets it - both the monitors they sell have glossy finishes. But if you're a PC user the pickings are extremely slim. This was the only monitor I could find that is glossy AND has a decent refresh rate suitable for gaming. But of course then if you do a little research you learn all about this company's troubled history. I took a chance, hoping Dough/Eve/whatever had turned it around. Set this thing up yesterday and immediately ran into problems. The monitor takes forever to turn on when connected to my laptop. Also during the four hours or so I used it yesterday it just went black at one point, requiring me to reconnect it. I figured this might be the firmware, so I checked and sure enough there was a newer firmware available. Updated that and the brightness was then messed up - the brightness seemed to be half of what it was before at the same setting, making it impossible to get the picture I had before. Also during this episode I noticed the monitor identifies itself with a different SKU, a confusing situation the company says is because they re-used the internals of the other (cheaper) model for the new one. This is not helpful when going to their page to look at available firmware versions. I can't even turn the monitor off and back on again without fiddling with my laptop to get it to reconnect. The only reason I took a chance on this is I was able to get it from Amazon. Not only do I have their standard purchase protections but the holiday guarantee as well, giving me the extended return window to the end of January. I will almost certainly be making use of that. As nice as the picture is (and it is nice when everything is working properly), the firmware on this thing is an absolute joke.
