Makes coffee. Does it well. Need I say more?
It's amazing to me how often you can try to get something pretty simple, and it doesn't do the job well. This is an example of something that simply does what it's supposed to do, and does it well. It makes coffee. It's sturdy, it's elegant, it does a surprisingly good job of espresso ("Specialty"), not as good as my stovetop coffee maker but really not far off. It has the milk frother, which we haven't used often but which works and is easy to use, clean and stow. My 2 bugbears with it would be: 1. Like a lot of other coffee makers (OK, probably all the ones I've seen) it has the means of a stand for a carafe or for a mug, but it would be so much more helpful if the stand for the mug could be adjusted in height for different size mugs, to prevent splash. Again, though, I haven't found one that does that well, so I can't complain. We use coasters to stack up smaller mugs for that reason. 2. While I said it makes espresso well, the included filter isn't quite up to the task of filtering out the espresso coffee, so you end up with a certain amount of coffee grounds in the cup. It'd probably be better with a paper filter as well, though I haven't gotten around to testing that yet. Probably just a paper towel would do it. But those are relatively minor quibbles. I'm just glad I was able to buy something that was not expensive and which I found, to my relief, did what I wanted it to do, no fuss. Happy.

Finally a coffee maker that doesn't make me choose between hot and iced
So I've been through a few coffee makers over the years, and most of them do one thing well and the rest poorly. The Ninja CM371 is the first one I've owned that actually handles both hot and iced coffee without feeling like a compromise on either side. Figured I'd share what I've learned after using it for a while. What You Get The box has the coffee maker, a 12-cup glass carafe, a reusable mesh filter, and a quick start guide. The reusable filter is nice โ no need to keep buying paper ones, though you can still use them if you prefer the taste. The Brew Styles This was the biggest selling point for me. It's not just "hot coffee" and "cold coffee" โ there are four modes and they actually make a difference: Classic is your standard hot drip. Nothing fancy, just a solid cup of coffee. This is what I use most mornings. Rich brews a stronger, more concentrated cup. I use this one when I'm adding milk or cream โ the flavor doesn't get lost the way it does with regular drip. Over Ice is smarter than I expected. Instead of just brewing regular coffee over ice (which tastes watered down by the time you're halfway through the cup), it brews a concentrate that holds up as the ice melts. My iced coffee actually still tastes like coffee by the last sip. Rapid Cold Brew is the one everyone talks about. Normal cold brew takes 12 to 24 hours of steeping. This does it in about 10 minutes. I'll be honest โ it doesn't taste exactly the same as cold brew you've been steeping overnight. It's a little brighter, not quite as mellow. But it's smooth, low-acid, and honestly pretty good. If you're the type who decides you want cold brew at 2 PM on a Tuesday, this saves you from having to plan a day ahead. Sizes There are 8 brew sizes, which sounds like a lot but basically breaks down to: single cup options (small, regular, XL, travel mug, XL travel mug) and carafe options (quarter, half, full 12-cup). I like that I can make one cup for myself in the morning without wasting a whole pot, but still brew a full carafe when people are over. The water reservoir auto-senses how much water you put in, so you don't have to measure anything. How It Looks and Feels It's black and stainless steel, looks clean on the counter, nothing too flashy. It's about 15 inches tall and a foot deep, so it's not small โ check your counter space, especially if you have upper cabinets. The water reservoir pops out so you can fill it at the sink instead of awkwardly pouring water into the machine. There's a clock and delay brew, so you can set it up the night before and wake up to coffee. Cleaning The reusable filter just needs a rinse after each brew. The carafe and reservoir wash up easy. Like any coffee maker, you'll need to descale it every so often depending on your water. What I Like The Over Ice mode actually works โ iced coffee that doesn't taste watered down Cold brew in 10 minutes is genuinely convenient One machine for single cups and full carafes Reusable filter saves money on paper filters Removable water reservoir Brews directly into a travel mug Delay brew for mornings What I Don't Love It's big. Not a dealbreaker, but it takes up real counter space The rapid cold brew is good but not identical to traditional overnight cold brew The reusable filter needs a rinse after every single brew Glass carafe, not thermal โ coffee won't stay hot forever off the warming plate Not an espresso machine, so no lattes or cappuccinos Over Ice and cold brew make smaller batches than the full carafe Who This Is For If you drink both hot and iced coffee, this makes a lot of sense. Same if you sometimes brew for one and sometimes for a group. The cold brew feature is great if you're impatient like me and don't want to plan ahead. It's also a good pick if you're trying to move away from K-Cup pods. Who Should Probably Look Elsewhere If you're mainly an espresso or latte person, this isn't for you โ it's a drip machine, not an espresso maker. If your kitchen is tiny, the footprint might be an issue. And if you're really particular about traditional cold brew flavor, the rapid version is close but not the same thing. Bottom Line I'm happy with it. It does what it says it does โ hot coffee, iced coffee, and a quick cold brew, all from one machine. The variety of brew styles and sizes means I'm not stuck making a full pot when I just want one cup, and I can switch between hot and iced without owning two separate machines. It's not perfect (it's big, and the cold brew isn't identical to the real thing), but for the price it's hard to beat if you want one machine that covers all your coffee bases.

Best coffee machine ever
This is such an amazing coffee maker because there are so many wonderful functions and its aesthetically pleasing as well. This is how I have my coffee bar set up in my house. There are 2 options for regularly brewed coffee: classic and rich. Then there are 2 more options: iced and cold brew. These options take a little longer to brew because its making a concentrated batch. My favorite part? The water tank. It holds so much water and I am able to select the amount of coffee I want to be dispensed anywhere from 8oz to 55oz. I dont need to refill it every day like standard coffee machines. ALSO, the coffee ground filter basket swivels out! Super cool. It also has a reuseable coffee filter so no more buying paper filters. And to top it off, on the side of the machine comes a measuring spoon with a different size on each end with directions on how to make the perfect batch of coffee. Honestly, this is the best investment I've ever purchased, and its not wildly expensive either.

2nd Ninja Coffee Machine and it just gets better!
Imagine spending $400 on a drip coffee maker and throwing it out in less than a year. Yeap, replaced a Moccamaster with a Ninja Specialty and I could not be happier. Love coffee, mostly drink 4-6 cups of freshly ground coffee a day. I had an older basic Ninja for several years before giving it to my son and wife, thinking it was a win win, so that when I visited I could enjoy a great cup of coffee, while at home I thought I would upgrade to a superior coffee machine (Moccamaster recommended by Wirecutter). The Moccamaster was a rip off. Could not fathom spending that kind of money, just to throw it away. Right? Tolerated it for less than a year then couldn't stand it anymore. In the garbage it went. Lesson learned. Ninja Specialty surpasses my expectation. First it makes excellent coffee. Can choose classic or bold, cup, mug, half or full pot, and the machine adjusts accordingly. The ease of use now is great, don't have to pull the machine out from under the cabinet anymore since the filter holder pulls out the front area. The water reservoir can also be removed from the side and be filled or washed. Has its own scoop that shows how much coffee is recommended depending on the brew cycle. Have not tried the frother yet. Another improvement is that if you want to grab a cup before the brew finishes you just move a lever to the left, which pauses the brew, this is important because all the machines I ever had, when you pull the carafe out, some coffee drops still drip on the hot plate which fizzles and stains the base. What a great great well thought out and tested machine. Highly recommend! Ninja appears to build products that are built around what their customers want while others appear to build products based on profitability and greed, using their brand well initially as a trap then turning their goods into garbage and charging excessively for inferior products. Again, lesson learned.

Worth the spend
Love this machine! Can do a pit or cup. Shots and cold brews Only issue is I wish the frother worked stronger Love the timer on it as well!

Ninja Hot & Iced XL
Our old single cup coffee maker recently brewed its last cup and we decided to splurge for the Ninja Hot & Iced XL instead of doing something more basic. This is an awesome machine! It is really well made, and looks so nice on our counter! It is versatile in being able to make both hot and cold brew coffee in varying sized cups along with a full carafe at a time. The brewing time is reasonable and we appreciate the features like the delayed start. The carafe holds plenty for my husband and I to enjoy in the morning - and it pours nicely without spilling. We are so happy with our decision to buy this one - it's worth the money, and the quality is great so I expect that it will last long enough to have a good return on our investment in the form of caffeination!

๐Updated Review โ Now 8 Months of Daily Use (see full update below)
๐ Updated Review โ Now 8 Months of Daily Use (see full update below) โญ๏ธOriginal Review: My husband and I are huge coffee lovers and have tried many types of brewers over the years. This Ninja was purchased in early August, and I intentionally waited until October to write my initial review so I could give a thorough, real-use perspective. I can say with 100% confidence โ this is the best coffee maker Iโve ever owned. We are already a Ninja-product family, so I was excited to add this to our kitchen โ but this machine completely exceeded expectations. I originally thought I was a simple โcoffee + creamerโ person, but this opened up a whole new world of drinks I didnโt even realize Iโd enjoy. My husband loves experimenting with flavors, foam, and different styles, and he is thrilled with how much versatility this one machine offers. This coffee maker is used at least 4โ5 times every single day (no judgment ๐ ), and every time we use it, weโre able to make something different โ hot coffee, iced coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and more. โ What You Get: Coffee maker unit Smart scoop (labeled per serving size) Frother wand attachment Tempered glass carafe with smart funnel Permanent filter + filter basket Flip-top water reservoir De-clogger tool Instruction manual Usage & Features: Cup Size Options: Cup XL Cup Travel Tumbler Multi-Serve Tumbler Half Carafe Full Carafe You can switch between sizes easily with a simple knob turn. Drip Stop Feature: Acts like a quick pause, allowing you to pour a cup mid-brew without making a mess โ super useful when brewing larger amounts. Even when making a small cup, it still tastes like a full, properly brewed pot โ not watered down like some machines. It takes a few minutes to fully extract flavor, which makes a noticeable difference. โ Brew Styles: Classic Rich Over Ice For iced coffee, I fill a cup with ice, add fresh coffee grounds to the filter, and brew using the โOver Iceโ setting โ it comes out perfectly balanced and not diluted. Frother Wand: One of my favorite features. Add milk or creamer to a cup, place it under the wand, and run it for about 30 seconds โ it creates a smooth foam that takes drinks to another level. Cleaning & Storage: Cleaning is simple and low maintenance: Filters remove easily for rinsing All removable parts are dishwasher safe Grounds are easy to discard and clean out When the descale light comes on, running a vinegar + water cycle through the reservoir gets everything back to normal quickly. The adjustable platform is also great โ it flips up to fit larger tumblers or the full carafe. โ ๏ธ Things to Know: This machine does not use pods or K-cups It is designed for ground coffee only Personally, I actually prefer this โ itโs much easier to clean a filter than deal with small reusable pods. โญ๏ธ Original Conclusion: This quickly became my favorite appliance in the house, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, versatile coffee maker. ๐ 8-MONTH UPDATE (HEAVY DAILY USE โ 4โ5x A DAY) I originally reviewed this after about 2 months of use. Iโve now been using it for closer to 8 months, and itโs still used heavily every single day โ plus regular large iced coffee batches. I wanted to come back and share a true long-term update for anyone wondering if it holds up. โ Real-Life Performance After 8 Months: โขNo wear or damage โขNo cracks or weak points โขNo rust anywhere โขNo slowing down or performance issues โขStill brews consistently hot coffee every time โขIt honestly performs the same as it did when it was brand new. Cleaning & Maintenance (Still Easy): Regular hand washing Occasional dishwasher use No buildup or residue issues Maintenance has stayed simple and low effort. Frother Wand (Still Excellent): Still one of my favorite parts of the machine. Works just as well as day one and creates smooth foam quickly. ๐ฅ Whatโs Changed Since My Original Review? Honestly โ not much. And thatโs exactly what you want. The biggest difference now is confidence. After months of heavy use, I can confidently say this machine is built to last. โญ๏ธ Media Update: Iโve added a new how-to video showing: -Full pot brewing -Iced coffee setup -Reservoir refilling -Removable parts -Control panel and settings โญ๏ธ Final Verdict: This is still my most used and most loved appliance in my home. If anything, I like it even more now โ because I know it holds up under real, heavy daily use. I would absolutely buy this again.

Awesome machine
The design stood out, so I decided to give it a try when the ol' Hamilton Beach packed it in. After almost a year of use, I'm quite satisfied with it. The brew options are great; love being able to do a cup or two. Adjusting the duration and temp of the heating pad it nice; too many of those things burn way too hot. Its quiet and fast; with a polite little beep to tell me that its coffee time!

This is it! It's finally here!
This is the coffee machine I've been waiting for! Not yet around in Canada, but ships from the USA via Amazon Canada. I don't need a coffee machine that makes tea, I don't need a spinning whirly gig on the side to froth milk... I need a 'Coffee Machine!' And this is it! Boy does it keep coffee hot and that's on the low 'keep warm' setting which doesn't tarnish the flavor. And what about that flavor, it's amazing whether just brewing a single mug or brewing a complete giraffe (it has a long neck) the flavor is consistent. Love, love, love the cold brew feature. How have I lived without this? Previously I'd brew a pot of coffee and put it in the fridge to cool down, but this baby brews straight over ice, again by the mug, if that's all you need. Again, awesome full flavor without being bitter. It sits under the counter too and because of the horizontal action of the brew basket, you don't have to move the machine everytime you want to brew a coffee. The included measuring spoon attached to the side and 'drip stop' feature make this machine standout from the crowd for sure. I'm English, we don't make cups of tea in a coffee machine and I believe you would be deported from the UK for doing so. So if it's real coffee you're into and not all that ridiculous frothing nonsense, this is the machine for you!

Cafetera Ninja
