Great for althread!
Got these specifically to use on althread and also situations where I cannot use the ratchets part of my wrenches. Gear wrench is always a brand to trust.

Perfect for airline fittings.
They won't take off anything seized or too tight but havn't had any problems on airline fittings. Good for awkward spots but do take 1/6 turn to lock into place. Ratcheting box end is nice as well, well worth the money even if you only get a few uses. Always grab them when I'm doing valve work under a trailer. I do wish I got the SAE set, up to 7/8 would be much more useful then 19mm.

Great wrenches
They are exactly what they say they are, open-ended ratchet wrenches. These are not wrenches for breaking loose extremely tight nuts, but that isn't what you buy ratcheting wrenches for anyhow. I also purchased

Hit or miss
I use them about every week at work with out any problems, I mostly 5/8 for airline fittings and they have worked great. However, yesterday was the first time I used the 3/8 open end rachet wrench and it broke on its first use. I was bummed. It appears to be hit or miss with these from other reviews I've seen . Maybe a QC issue, I'm not sure, but I'll see what I can do about the warranty process in hopes of getting a replacement.

Open end ratchet
Despite any of the bad reviews i ordered them anyway because lets face it, open end ratchet wrenches is a very good idea. and hard to find. So ill start by saying that these are what you think they are i dont know why anyone would state they were'nt. And they do work correctly, however i don't think that I will use them to actually break a nut loose that's tight to begin with, I would start it with a regular open end and then use these to ratchet only. Still a great idea and a lot of help.

Buyers Beware
READ THIS BEFORE BUYING. You are really only buying a ratcheting end. When I first received these wrenches I noticed the open end had a spring-loaded beveled piston on one of the flats.. I expected a traditional open-end wrench with a ratcheting closed-end but thought "pretty neat idea, i hope it's reliable." Well my fears were indeed a reality. The pistons fell out of two of my wrenches before I even got to use them.. Making the open end unusable. And the ones that still have them.. The piston (although a great concept idea) does NOT allow the wrench to lock, instead, the open-end just slips around the nut or bolt-head. (I am an experienced tech so yes I am not an idiot holding it the wrong way). Not a SINGLE wrench under 3/4" works. I am stuck using only the ratcheting end.. Which is not always possible, and most definitely not why I bought the set. I have never written such a negative review, but I need to warn people. I spent a fair chunk of change on these wrenches, and they have left me stranded on jobs. Beware also the A/C wrenches, as the gears easily break and slip. I cannot say the same for the ratcheting end on these because they have held up on some pretty tight nuts and even with a cheater bar. Props to GearWrench on these ratchets, but a HUGE negative on the open ends. I was hoping my first purchase from GearWrench would reveal a great brand.

Product not as shown in picture.
The wrenches are cool but they do not have the wrachet in the open in like is displayed in the pictures. Only a notch taken out. I was really looking forward to the wrachet in the open end. Meh.

Totally worth it!
I waited years because I was unsure and folks would say they aren't everyday wrenches. Bullcrap, I've used them everyday this week! They are super tough and work great, they aren't a complete replacement, the open end only works on a 15° offset from the bolt head. That's fine 75% of the time I'm still using the open end. Get a set or two they are great! I feel the imperial is slightly improperly sized as the metric seems to grab bolts better. It's worth getting both sets
