Remove the bottle cap and insert the pump down into the neck of the bottle.

Do you remove the black plastic at the top of the bottle before installing the pump?

If you’re talking about the black plastic collar around the top of the bottle, I didn’t remove mine.

Works Great!

Works great! I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but fits perfectly on my glass 1883 bottle. Note: I was twisting the punp forever trying to get it to open to no avail. Before putting the pump into the syrup, you have to hold the base while twisting the pump for it to open.

Disappointing. They do NOT fit the GLASS BOTTLE like stated in the description. I tried to read past the comments saying the same thing and hoped they just got a bad batch, but nope, they really don’t fit. So don’t even waste your time buying them.
