I read many negative reviews about this product that had me concerned.. but as i began installing everything I realized this is actually a decent product, especially for this price. For roughly $40 you get Apple CarPlay, and a backup camera. Apple CarPlay worked flawlessly, and in my old truck the only option I had was to transmit through FM and the audio was very clear. I haven’t noticed any screen lag with the device, and when I press a button on the screen there isn’t any delay. The backup camera is not HD by any means, but it is clear and works better than expected. I wired mine up to one of the reverse lights and every time I go in reverse the camera kicks on. The music stops while the backup camera is activated, but that isn’t the end of the world. I kind of like that as a safety feature. If you had read negative reviews and you are in the fence, I say go for it. This is worth every penny!!

I bought this Capapro 7" Portable CarPlay screen a short time ago because of the good initial reviews and the claim of "reliable technical support." I followed the built-in online upgrade process exactly as instructed and used the official IVT244.img file provided by the device's own QR code. After the update completed, the screen is now completely unusable: it shows only a solid blue background with a thick horizontal line and visible scan lines. The backlight works, but there is no menu, no touch response, and no way to access CarPlay or settings. I tried: Extended power drains and resets (unplugged for 30+ minutes multiple times) USB recovery attempts with the same firmware file Checking for the device's Wi-Fi hotspot (none appears) When I opened the unit to investigate further, the board is an Allwinner F133-B with PCB revision F18_V5.0_20250221 and shield marking JL-M70B013-N22WS-T503518. There is no physical reset button! They removed it, as though it's a cost saving measure! I have been unable to contact the seller for the correct matching recovery firmware. There is no "Contact Seller" button visible on the product page or my order, and no direct support email or phone is provided despite the product description promising reliable technical support. This unit is now a $43 paperweight after following official instructions. I would like the seller to provide the proper variant-specific firmware or arrange a replacement. Photos of the failed screen and motherboard are available if needed. If you're considering this unit, be aware that the firmware update process can brick it and support appears very limited.

Easy to setup and use. I skipped the camera setup as I have one already. Allow some use (a day or so) for the systems to fully sync. You may hear a purring noise initially but it went away after some use. 100% worth the $40 or so given all that comes in the box!!!!

Wow, this things is great, adding CarPlay to any old vehicle, this is spectacular. My phone hooks up instantly when it turn on, call quality is good and works just like CarPlay in a new vehicle, I would define recommend. I did add wire it in to the keyed 12v ignition source, my cigarette lighter is on all the time. Do buy and you won’t be disappointed.

The display is great when it works; however, the phone connection to display navigation and music only fully connects about 1/3 of the time. The other times, it shows that it's trying to connect but never completes. The back-up camera is great, but when the car is in reverse the screen keeps flipping between the rearview camera and the regular display, so backing up and looking at the screen isn't perfect. I would love for there to be a better way to hide all the wires in my 2014 Mini Cooper Countryman, but that's not the screen's fault. Other complaints - the smooth touchscreen works great but also reflects everything in daylight, making it hard to see. I thought about investing in a screen protector that would give it a more matte finish. Otherwise, the device is a real bargain and a great way to update an older car. Installation wasn't too difficult (the type of car and accessibility of the car's wiring is a determining factor). It's hard for me to give it a full recommendation.

Had a little trouble with the silicone mounting at first (let it sit there until it dries onto the dash) sound quality is pretty good if you’re using the FM transmitter mode, easy installation. Screen is slow at first, should go away after using for 5 minutes.

I've used it for about a week now...... I like it a lot..... Somehow it automatically starts when I start up my car. It keeps a list of places I've been, so I can choose one when I'm ready to go. Its got a larger screen, so that's a definite plus. It can stay in my car. I've bluetoothed it to my phone. I can use Maps or Waze. I think I can use whatever I can see on my phone.... I hv a few different navigation apps.... havn't tried them all yet. It takes about a minute to connect when I turn on my car. It doesn't seem to be using my phone but I know it does somehow. Probably for data service.... Right now, I'm happy! I've tried quite a few different ways to view GPS while driving [different car phone holders (they kept falling off or not being in a convenient spot), portable HUD displays (then hvng to find an app that displays navigation backwards..... could not use Waze or Maps 😫)]. This is using apps from my phone, showing them as it would on my phone! I'm still playing w/it cuz right now it uses the stereo speakers in the unit. It's okay for now but I think I want to see if I can use my car speakers instead.... As stated: I'm still playing w/it... But, so far, so good! 😃 Thanks, Capapro!

It's not the best it's pretty laggy and the reflection is high and when u reverse u have to pres the camera to see its won't do it automatically and installing it is very hard
