Verilux HappyLight Lucent - One-Touch Light Therapy Lamp with 10,000 Lux, UV-Free, LED Bright White Light & Detachable Stand for Boosting Mood & Improving Sleep

I originally bought this for my mother, but it was just too bright for her sensitive eyes (she has had cataracts and has the beginnings of macular degeneration). I will say, it is shockingly bright the first time you see it! My mom couldn't even tolerate it being just on her periphery. So, keep that in mind if you or whomever you are considering this for, has any eye issues. That being said, I still gave it 5 stars because I decided to try it out for myself, and I actually like it a lot! I use it almost every morning and I really do believe it helps me wake up, get energized and betters my mood. I have had low energy and depression issues quite often in my life (been on medication for years), and it does seem to get worse during the winter months. This lamp has really helped reduce the frequency and intensity of those issues. Even my cat likes to lay by it when I'm using it :) I am honestly grateful that my mom could not use this lamp! Side note: After hearing how it has helped me, she now wants to try one that has lower brightness settings. I will be purchasing one for her from this brand (Verilux) in the near future.

I’m a mental health provider and have purchased several of these light boxes for clients struggling with depression, including bipolar depression and treatment resistant depression. Many of them have noticed real improvements in mood and energy when using it consistently in the morning. Over about 6 weeks, several people reported feeling more motivated and their depression screening scores improved as well. It has been a simple tool that can make a meaningful difference when used regularly. The light is bright but comfortable, easy to use, and simple to add into a morning routine. I’ve been happy with it and will continue recommending it to clients who may benefit from light therapy.

Great deal! My doctor recommended to get a happy light since winter already started, I honestly was very skeptical and did not expect much but I can tell I have felt a difference since I started using it. I normally turn it on in the morning when its still dark and it stays on while im cooking, prep lunch for my son and even when we are all together having breakfast. It’s kind of modern looking and it’s white, so that’s a plus. Love the quality, it doesn’t look or feels cheap. I think the light is bright enough, so it does it’s function. Get it!!

This is so bright that it hurts your eyes when turning it on- I know thats the point that it is a bright light- but we find ourselves wanting to set it behind something so we get the light but not directed in a spot we could look directly at it because if we accientally look towards it- it hurts your eyes. I don't have time to sit in front of it (maybe thats the sole purpose) so I put it in the room where I exercise or in the bathroom when I get ready. I am not able to say if it has improved my state of happiness overall, but this product is as advertised and research I read indicates it could have positive outcomes. So if you want to try a lamp- I imagine this one is as good as any for the price.

Just received it and enjoying my coffee in the dreary Minnesota days with it! Great Light and very compact and easy to use.

Buy it! I've suffered from seasonal depression for years and last year was the worst I've ever experienced. This year I was so anxious when the seasons started to change because I just didn't feel like i could go through another dark cold winter. I heard about the happy light and I'm so grateful I found it and tried it. This has been the best winter I've had in years !! I don't feel sad or empty. I actually look forward to tomorrow. Not saying I jump out of bed w extra energy or anything but I notice a MAJOR difference in my mental health. I will probably invest in a more expensive option that's on a more stable stand but I'd say this one is perfect just to see how you will feel. I use it everyday when I 1st wake up for 10-15 minutes sometimes up to an hour and that's it! I highly recommend!

I was skeptical about getting this because I did not know if I bought into the idea of light therapy. I am glad I was proven wrong. This has been life saving this winter and I use it every single morning!

Seems to help. Cheaply made though. The stand mechanism is ridiculous and ill conceived. Very unstable. Never have I ever had a complaint about an on/off button until this baby. It’s tiny and flat and if you don’t hit the exact center with the exact amount of pressure, you will be pressing it again. And possibly a third time.

This has made a huge difference in my daughter’s life! She is studying ballet/ dance full time in the UK…The dreary weather difference of England from where she is from in America( and the fact that she walked to the school before light, no windows in studios, and walked home after 5pm in the winter) was getting her down. As soon as I got this for her( she used it while she puts on her makeup and eats her breakfast) she felt SO much better- happier and energetic! 😎👍🏻☀️

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Living on the West Coast of Canada we have a lot of of the rain and clouds during the winter season. This light felt like an infusion of vitamin D. I keep it on while I'm working and the results were fast. More energy to do the things I want!

Je travaille de nuit et j'habite au Québec, donc mon horaire fait en sorte que je vois très peu la lumière du jour durant les longs mois d'hiver. La dépression saisonnière me frappe à chaque année. J'ai bon espoir que cette lampe m'aidera à améliorer ma qualité de vie. Je l'ai reçue hier et ma première séance est déjà faite. La lampe est très légère et simple d'utilisation. Elle peut se transporter facilement dans un sac ou une valise. J'apprécie particulièrement le pieds amovible qui nous permet d'ajuster l'angle de la lampe à notre guise, que ce soit de façon verticale ou horizontale. Je recommande!

It isn’t compatible with uk adapters and can cause interference with other items such as tv, therefore I will have to return it unfortunately.
