Juicer Attachment for KitchenAid Mixer, Masticating Cold Press

Super easy to assemble, connect to KitchenAid, and clean up. I did get a chunk of apple stuck and had to dig it out, but that was my fault, because I didn't cut the pieces small enough (I put in a piece larger than a quarter of an apple--nearer a half). The juice is not clear. Lots of foam and apple grit (like super watery applesauce), but it strains out easily with a cloth. And I did not peel the apples, as the instructions suggest. Just cored them. It did not clog or leak. The juice and leftover ground-up apple went into their (provided) cups perfectly. Smart design. I used to use a steamer-juicer for apples, but that took a long time on the stove. This is super fast. Highly recommend.

Perfect way to use up cucumbers from my garden when the heat made them too bitter. Works great, easy to put together, seems like it will last a long time, I'm happy with it

Fits my artisan mixer. I love it. I’ve made the best lemonade without the stress on my hands from traditional juicers. It’s easy to use and clean. The juice comes out one hole and pulp out of the other. I even let my kids watch since the juicer is made of plastic that is see through and they love to watch the fruit squish up. Altogether very worth it in my opinion.

For $40 it’s really hard to complain. Just received this and used right away to make some grape and apple juice. It’s very user friendly. Easy to take apart and put together with no instructions. It attached to my kitchenaid effortlessly. Seems to be good quality. I don’t love plastic but it’s heavy duty plastic especially the corkscrew. My only complaint, or I guess idea for improvement, is that this does not work with skins. I used just one bag of grapes and had to clean the juicer twice just to keep it working. Then had to clean again before I started apples. And three more times while making the apple juice. In the future I can peel the apples which is an unfortunate time suck but grapes….i aint peelin no grapes lol just wish the clogging wasn’t so severe you HAVE to stop and clean the juicer multiple times for one teeny bag of grapes. Its only been one use, but I love it. Nothing beats freshly squeezed juice with no extra sugars / preservatives and the juice is never stored in plastic. It’s definitely worth the extra cleanings. Very excited to try with more fruits and veggies!

Use this for baking as some recipes call for fresh juice. It took most seeds out of the blackberries for making frosting. Clean up is easy as for the parts we see, think the restis clean. Way more juice than using a hand juicer.

I dont know where the good reviews came from, because I've never used such a disappointing piece of equipment. I tried to make tomato juice. First of all, the holes to insert the food are so small that you have to cut a medium tomato into at least 6 pieces in order to go thru the hole. Even the so-called "large" hole. It immediately spit seeds right out with the juice. Then, after only expelling a small amount of skin and waste, along with some perfectly juicy chunks of tomato, the skins and seeds just started clogging up in in the chute. And its no wonder, because the hole they are supposed to come out is ridiculously small. All we ended up with was a small amount of juice with a bunch of seeds in it, and a wad of skin and seeds clogged in the machine. Not to mention the difficulty of getting it all taken apart to clean up that mess. It's junk and it's Going Back.

It makes sense to join this description with video. Will see if I make it next time. First of all, the device works and produces great juice for apples and oranges. Which is what it was purchased for in the first place. So, it's a keeper. The next is details, wants and more wants, but it's important to keep things in perspective. The device does what it supposed to and produces results we are currently enjoying with all our family. Orange and apple juice are top marks! I wanted it to make a pomegranate juice ( squeeze, not make, sorry ). But this is where device ran into its limitations and my, admittedly, laziness. I hope my level of laziness is understandable. I wasn't expecting to have to remove all but pomegranate seeds to load into device. And then if I had to, I would probably forego making juice altogether, I like the seeds on their own. The limitation, I hope, is obvious, the shell has a tangy taste, that gives too much of it to final product, the juice, and so, it's not really the taste you would expect. And no amount of filtration would help. With hand cranked juice maker it's a totally different story. The smart inbuilt into this ancient juice making approach takes a bit of scientific mind to appreciate. The hand cranked juice machine obviates the shell, leaving it outside of material subjected to pressure and cleanly applies extraction process to just the fruit content. Anyone, who tried the juice produced as a result knows what I am talking about. It's just exquisite. But the trouble is properly engineered machine using crank pressure would cost well in excess of 500 dollars. And to make it to perfection it would require to add electric assist, similar to electric bicycle. Now, that would be an ideal to strive for in the future. For now this 60 dollar device works. Apples and oranges, but it's already great. A few more minor details. I was expecting device to fit very snugly, but it actually has a bit of wobbling motion. Nothing too serious, but need to pay attention. To fit attachment better I ended up giving it a bit of run, while pushing on the fitting screw to ensure it is as secure ass possible. This is needed to make sure to avoid any risk of detaching device by accident. Between oranges and apples, the easier juice making process, and probably the easiest is with oranges. The consistency of pulp extracted by juice maker makes the pulp come out smoothly and it falls into cup under gravity effortlessly, making it for very easy process. The apples, on the other hand, have skin that has a bit of spring to it, when rolled off by device. As a result the pulp has propensity to spring slightly off from just falling down trajectory. And unless you up the cup to the extrusion point it will fall somewhat around machine, so, be prepared to a bit more cleaning. And than the apple pulp from the fruit itself turns into emulsion that needs to be filtered from the juice itself as a subsequent step. I ended up cleaning a bit of an area where I was making juice, plus the filtering sieve. Nothing to really worry about, but as far as time goes this isn't something you would do every morning or after coming home from work. More like a weekly meal preparation routine, where juice is produced in some quantity and stored. In my mind I had an idea of just that, a minute of fun time + healthy drink. So, another slight adjustment. But still, the juice is worth it. I hope these gory details do not make reader feel overwhelmed. :)

new to juicing - this attachment to KitchenAid mixer is so easy to use and to clean. used it twice since delivery this week and love it!

The delivery was quoted as 2 days but arrived in 21 hours. The device is very good at juicing fruit and veg and separates the pulp as a very dry waste for the garden.

If you are really into cold press juice, I'd suggest buying a proper cold press juicer, not this attachment. While this attachment works results are not the best. Used a couple times, the pulp doesn't come out as dry as I'd expect. I can get whatever comes out and squish with my own hands and I still get a good amount of juice by doing so, in my humble opinion, with a proper cold press juicer, this wouldn't be the case. Poor design, the hole where the pulp comes out vs where the juice comes out are very close to eachother, requiring you align perfectly otherwise some pulp may get to your juice container as it comes out. Overall an a-ok product, does what it's indented but somewhat poorly, would not recommend a friend to buy.

Utile!
