Makes whites look bright again
Mrs. Stewart's Liquid Bluing really surprised me in the best way. It's such a small bottle, but it goes a long way and makes a noticeable difference in my white clothes and linens. Things that were starting to look a bit yellow or dull came out of the wash looking much brighter and fresher again. It's easy to use once you dilute it properly, and it works well with regular laundry without any hassle or mess. Overall, it's a simple old-school product that actually does what it promises, and I'm really happy with the results.

Works Great. Often Misunderstood.
This product has been sold virtually unchanged for well over a century. It works. But you do have to understand what it is and how it works. White laundry that is dull and dingy may be physically dirty despite having been washed (some dirt can be difficult to get out), or it may be chemically stained. For physical dirt, you’re just going to have to wash it with good detergent. For chemical stains, use chlorine bleach or an oxygen bleach such as Oxy. For some stains, you may need a specialized stain remover. And some stains are just hopeless. This product is not a detergent. It’s not a bleach. It’s not a stain remover. Your laundry has to be basically white to begin with for bluing to do any good. So what is this product? What is bluing? It’s a weak blue dye (weak once it’s diluted). Used correctly, it will shift your whites very slightly blue. The effect is very subtle. It’s such a slight color shift that your eyes will still perceive it as white. But, shifting white very slightly to blue makes it look “brighter.” The human eye actually perceives a very slightly blue shade as whiter than white. This is why many “fabric softener” and liquid laundry detergent products are blue. It’s why many powdered laundry detergents have blue crystals in them. The effect is not dramatic. Don’t expect your gray towels to suddenly glow in the dark. Your whites must be basically clean and white to begin with. Adding a touch of bluing is a “finishing touch.” It adds that last bit that will put your whites “over-the-top.” Straight out of the bottle, this product is a powerful blue dye. To use it to achieve this “last finishing touch” very slight blue shift, you’ll use just a fraction-of-a-teaspoon of this product into a batch of white laundry. You must dilute that fraction-of-a-teaspoon of this product in a quart or two of water. I use this product in a front-loading High-efficiency front-loading washer. I use this product diluted in water in place of fabric softener and it works great. It’s

Works well, and I put it right in the soap cup in my front load washer
Giving this four stars, I used to give it five. But I don’t think it works quite as good as it used to. Not sure if it’s quality or user error. If you’re a front load washer user, I don’t follow the directions at all. I just squirt some right into a soap cup with my liquid detergent. It does stain the dispenser cup, but that doesn’t bother me.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Simple, Effective, and Long-Lasting
I purchased the Mrs. Stewart's Concentrated Liquid Bluing, 8-ounce pack of 2, and I’m really impressed. First off, this stuff lasts forever. You barely need any to get the job done, so the small bottles go a long way. Buying the two-pack was a smart choice. It was cheaper than buying single bottles, and I’m giving one to my mom while keeping one for myself. It’s nice to know I’ll have a backup bottle for a long time, and it feels like a thoughtful gift for her as well. The liquid bluing works exactly as expected. It keeps whites bright and helps prevent dinginess in laundry. It’s super concentrated, so a little really goes a long way, making it very economical in the long run. One important note: make sure you read the instructions closely before use and be careful when opening the bottles. The liquid is very concentrated and can stain surfaces or skin if spilled, so handle it with care. Overall, this is a simple, classic product done right. If you want something reliable, long-lasting, and cost-effective for keeping your whites bright, I highly recommend this two-pack.

Liquid Bluing
Mrs. Stewart's Concentrated Liquid Bluing: Revives Whites Safely, But Consider Alternatives Mrs. Stewart's Concentrated Liquid Bluing has been a popular laundry additive for decades, promising to restore the brightness of white fabrics. Here's a look at its features, potential benefits and drawbacks, to help you decide if it's the right choice for your laundry routine: Pros: Whitening Effect: Many users report that this bluing effectively brightens white fabrics, removing yellowing and dullness, especially noticeable on aged or frequently washed whites. Safe for Fabrics: Unlike bleach, bluing is generally considered safe for most white fabrics, including synthetics, as it doesn't contain harsh chemicals. Biodegradable and Non-Toxic: This product is formulated with biodegradable ingredients and is non-toxic, making it an attractive option for those concerned about environmental impact and harsh chemicals. Concentrated Formula: A little goes a long way, making it an economical choice. Cons: Temporary Effect: The whitening effect of bluing is temporary and fades over time with subsequent washes. Blue Tint: While subtle, the bluing can leave a slight blue tint on fabrics, which might not be desirable for all users. Not a Stain Remover: It is not effective in removing stains and should not be used as a substitute for stain removers or laundry detergents. Limited Availability: Finding Mrs. Stewart's bluing in stores can be challenging, and online options might have limited reviews. Overall: Mrs. Stewart's Concentrated Liquid Bluing is a budget-friendly and safe option for those seeking to brighten white fabrics without harsh chemicals. However, the temporary effect, blue tint, and limited stain removal capabilities are important to consider. Here are some additional points to keep in mind: Alternatives to consider: For a more permanent whitening solution, oxygen-based stain removers or specialized whitening detergents might be more effective. Spot test before use: As with any laundry product, it's recommended to do a spot test on an inconspicuous area of the fabric to check for colorfastness. If you're looking for a safe and traditional way to brighten your whites occasionally, Mrs. Stewart's Bluing could be worth trying. However, if you need a permanent whitening solution, stain removal, or readily available options, explore alternative products.

Made my Whites White!
This stuff works amazing! I’ve had these air forces for a long time & they got really dingy. I popped em in the washer with some of this product (lookup the ratio to use online) and the top looks brand new. The soles require a different technique to whiten so I’m not upset at that. This product is amazing. Works very good on shirts and socks too. I actually get excited to wash whites now and see how new they look when I’m done. For front load washers, you can pour this + a water mixture in either the bleach or fabric softener compartments!

This stuff is AMAZING at toning down Orange Blonde hair when purple doesn't work for you.
If your hair is blonde with a layer of rust color like mine, you understand the angst. It just grows out of my head that way and yet a few well meaning acquaintances and even a few strangers back in the day actually stopped to tell me about how I should try using their hair bleach brand instead so I wouldn't get brassy orange results. When I tried to explain that some of my hair is just naturally an ugly shade of blonde, they'd blink a few times in confusion. Parts of it are wheat blonde, (and frizzy and partially curly) and the underside is smooth and straight but it looks like a horrible bleach job where the hair turned brassy orange. Maybe my follicles are made out of sun-in? I don't know. I used to use this stuff called Drabber on the bottom layer of hair, but I couldn't find it anymore in the early 2000s. I've tried every purple shampoo under the sun and none of them work. Then one day I looked at a color wheel and had an epiphany. Of course it doesn't work! My hair isn't tinted yellow, it's tinted orange! And across the color wheel from orange is - you guessed it - BLUE. Opposite colors on the wheel help cancel each other out. That's why purple shampoo works for yellowy brass, and why it wasn't working on my hair. So anyway, I've been doing this for about 10 years now: whenever my hair starts creeping orangey, I put roughly 20 drops in my palm full of conditioner and mix it well with my finger. Then I smooth it through freshly shampooed hair and let it sit a few minutes while I lather up with soap and whatnot. Rinse it out and there you go. Orange toned way down, and I get my Wheat Blonde haircolor. I guess you could soak your hair in blue tinted water instead, but the conditioner method lets me put it on only the hair I want to tone. If you have dry hands like mine, you might stain them blue in a few spots for a day - the spots being where a drop or two of plain bluing might splash on your hand before mixing in conditioner. You can mix this in a little container instead. I'm just lazy. One word of caution: know your hair's porosity. There are a few annoying chunks of my hair around my face that are much more porous (and much lighter blonde) than the rest, and I clip those pieces up and out of the way when I do this. I don't trust them to not turn into Cookie Monster blue. I don't know if they would, but I have suspicions. So I don't put blue conditioner on them. They're not orange anyway - just light plain boring blonde. So just go slowly if you're going to try this - use only a few drops and see what happens on a small hidden section of hair. Don't go all in and then be like "DARN YOU, M!!!!" in a cookie monster voice. But if you're desperate to tone down the howdy doody on your head like I was, give this a shot. (Seriously - GO SLOW. Start small!!) I use the same bottle for years - it lasts forever and it's dirt cheap.

Impressive
Honestly pretty amazing results, made my white clothes much brighter. Just make sure not to be cheeky with the usage of it as I had a few close calls when I chose not to dilute it first and almost stained my clothes. If you follow the instructions however, it's excellent.

Fungerar
Fungerar, försiktig med mängden då det kan bli blå fläck. Dock finns det sätt att bli av med fläckar om du råkar göra fel. Beskrivning angående det står på flaskans baksida.
