What a great player.
Had the HiBy digital M300 music player for a couple of days and am extremely pleased with it. I added a high end 512 GB Sandisk Micro SD card and then placed my music collection on it. The collection, which added up to 240 GB took a while to load but the player did this flawlessly. The HiBy music player app recognized the music easily and I was ready to go. I used my Ear Fun Pro Noise Cancelling headphones (these to me are better sounding for music than the much more costly ones from Bose or Sony-I recommend these highly if one wants great music on a budget) to sync with the player. The Bluetooth connection was immediate and the sound was fabulous. The music is clear, smooth, warm giving me a well-balanced listening presence. I tried all different music since I am an eclectic music lover such as pop, jazz, classical, soul, country, oldies and other types and each music genre was given a similar smooth and balanced sound with a wonderful stage presence. At times when the music warranted it, I could hear different instruments to the left and right, as well as a vibrant presence in center stage for a vocalist. The base was just perfect, not too obvious but nevertheless accenting the lows and mids throughout. I am not an Audiophile, but someone who loves listening to music, even through streaming on Spotify and this player does it all well. I can download any Google app with no problem, which the player easily supports. The device is very very compact and yet large enough to fit into the comfort of ones hand. It is made out of solid materials and they even placed a screen protector on the front. Some people may say that their phone may do the same thing, and they might be right. Yet when I listen to music, while reading, or walking, or working in the yard, I prefer not be be disturbed since I want to be in my zone and out of the hustle and bustle of phone calls. The sound compared to my Samsung phone is also far better. Those younger people in the midst of a successful career, should probably keep their music on their phone, but for a person who at some time during their day likes being in a personal zone--these would be perfect for them. There are cheaper ones out there but these will get the job of delivering music done in a full and clear way with an overall package that is thoughtfully designed. I recommend them highly.

Solid Little Player With Good Quality
I'm writing this as an amateur to the "audiophile" scene, so I can't exactly explain why this player is great sounding. But I will say that even long after the "excited novelty" phase of receiving this product I'm still noticing that this plays music with far more clarity, power, and overall quality than any phone I've ever listened to music on. And I'm not just talking about only listening to spotify on my phone, I also played WAV and FLAC on my phones, and this player outperforms everything I've used in the past. Just this week I finished listening to an album after a while of not listening to the M300 and just thought, "Dang this player is good". The audio quality is great both on bluetooth and aux (which I recommend). Part of the reason why I wanted this DAP was because of the bluetooth capability, as my car doesn't have an aux port. Anything that's played over bluetooth I've usually found to be lacking but I'll be danged if this doesn't play great on my car stereo. And when I want to listen with my headphones it plays wonderfully. It's great for beginners because if they don't have in-ear monitors then they'll still notice a difference, and then can use different wired headphones if they wish to notice the sound difference. It's probably nothing too amazingly outrageous compared to a $1,000 DAP but I would say this is the perfect jumping-off point for getting into DAPs and high quality audio. It's small, sturdy, easy to use, and has a pretty solid punch for the price. You can't go wrong with this little thing, so give it a buy.

Oh, HiBy HiBy HiBy
After owning 2 DAPs from Fiio that would not play about 10% of my songs, I went to the HiBy R3ii player. But it also didn't play all my songs. So I ordered this M300. While waiting for my DAP, updated my Fiio DAPs and now they play all my songs. Hm. So tried to play all songs with my M300 new DAP. Nope. Still not playing them all. Not using the HiBy music app. I have even sent HiBy 10 songs as examples and then never heard back from them again, after the first three emails. But then the magic happened. I started using Musicolet on this M300 DAP and wow, everything plays. I have enough songs to listen to music 3 hours a day and not hear a single song repeat for about two years. That's a lot of songs. And my folder structure is set up as a playlist. So making actual playlists in Musicolet on this M300 DAP was a snap. And the sound is just as good as any of my Fiio DAPs and better than the HiBy R3ii Dap. The R3ii uses a proprietary OS while this OS is Android base. So using other apps is a breeze. Sure, I am a Mac guy and iPhone OS systems, but this is easy enough to figure out, at my age. (61). I don't think I will miss using the music player app from HiBy. Not at all. I spent ten hours setting up my playlists and all my music on a 512 GB card, and everything is working seamlessly. Sure, the Android is a bit odd at times, but that's not on HiBy. But the easy of use and sound quality are just fine for my ears. The DAP is solid and built well. I got a case and more screen protectors. When taking of the clear plastic HiBy uses to protect the factory installed screen protector, it came off as well, and I had to order new screen protectors before I even used the DAP. Bummer. But now, now... life is good. I have my first DAP set up fully to enjoy all my music (not most my music) on my fairly expensive home system, and my vehicle - and all sounds great to me. Life is boring without music. I would recommend this DAP for most people. It is a solid DAP and capable of playing anything, with the right app, and sounding amazing enough.

Perfect for me!
Just received my M300 music player. After my 160GB iPod Classic finally died I needed another option. Over the decades I had collected just under 50,000 songs and my priority was for something to recognize and play my music rather than adding yet another subscription. After reading reviews and recommendations, decided to try the HiBy M300. It arrived today and I can only say WOW! It fits comfortably in my hand and the layout makes it easy to operate. It is light but looks and feels very solid and well made. Fits easily in a shirt or pants pocket without feeling bulky. The buttons for the volume controls and play/pause are simple to learn and easy to find by touch without looking. The screen size is just right for me and obviously larger than my old iPod. The menu options are nicely laid out and easy to learn. The touch screen is very sensitive. I inserted a micro SD card with some music files which I had copied from my computer library. It scanned and read the 100GB of music files easily without any hesitation. Within just a few minutes my library was ready to go. The sound from the speaker is nice but I don't plan on using that often. I plugged in an old pair of Bose headphones and was very impressed with the sound quality. Even more so with my JBL bluetooth speaker. This little device has a lot more functionality than I will probably ever use but for me and my needs it is GREAT! HiBy has a new fan.

Useless because of battery
This little music player has a lot going for it that I was excited about. I’m not an audiophile but I listen to music almost every day, or at least have it on in the background. Sometimes for over 9 hours a day, depending on what I’m doing. I wanted a dedicated music player for this. The m300 is supposed to have 29 hours of playtime and 15 days standby. I know those numbers are usually a little inflated but I was not expecting it to be so bad. Out of the box it had about 80% battery. That first day of use it died in a few hours. I charged it to 100% and did all the things to extend battery life; battery saver mode, no app other than Hiby Music running, no extra apps installed, brightness as low as I could and still see the controls, etc. I also unplugged it overnight to not over-heat/charge the device but in the morning, 9 hours later, it was at 75%. Within 4-5 hours of listing it was dead again. Ive tried several cycles of the battery now and it still isn’t holding charge. It would basically have to live plugged in, which I expect from my 13 year old laptop battery, but not a brand new device. I read a few reviews mentioning poor battery life but assumed some people probably got duds and hoped I wouldn’t. Well, I got a dud too and will be returning mine.

HIBY M300 - Exceptional Build-Quality, Well Designed & Impressive Audio Performance
Although I own an iPhone and an iPod Touch, as all Apple afficionados know, the transferring of lossless files from a PC to these devices, via iTunes, is a real pain in the butt. I concluded that a separate audio player would be the best alternative for enjoying my lossless FLAC music files. Not having had any prior experience with HiBy, I thought that it would probably fail to meet my demanding audio and technical needs. To my surprise, the HIBY M300 audio player has dramatically exceeded my expectations. Transferring music files to this Android 13 device couldn't be easier. When it's connected to my PC, via USB cable, it's immediately recognized. Files and folders are effortlessly and quickly transferred via drag and drop. When used with my 1More Quad earbuds, I found the sound quality to be exceptional. Vocals are crystal clear, with nice highs and good bass. With the 1More Quad earbuds, I found the sound reproduction to have a natural quality to it. If you prefer your music to be bass heavy, you can use the M300's equalizer to crank up the low frequencies. Personally, I prefer to listen to my music as it was recorded. I don't use Bluetooth earbuds, so I tested the reliability of the M300's Bluetooth circuitry by connecting it to a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard. The Bluetooth connection remained solid during the entire time I was using the keyboard. The M300, being an Android device, provides the option to rotate and lock the screen in place. Using this option, you can have the 3.5 mm audio jack located at the top of the M300 (when you're carrying it in a chest pocket) or at the bottom (if you have it sitting on a desk). I also like the fact that the thin design of the M300 fits comfortably in the palm of my hand. So far, I have absolutely no complaints about this device. I'm now a fan of HIBY!

Good, but with bugs. I'm on the fence as to whether I'll return it or see if they'll fix the bugs.
Ok, I'll reserve the right to modify this if they address some things. You need to have an audio cable attached to the 3.5mm out of this and to your headphones or speakers for it to receive FM. Had I known this I would have not bought it. I don't want to make it obvious I'm listening to music rather than just hearing protection while I'm wearing my cans at work. The time would not save twice in less than 24 hours of setting the date and time so this is another bug that needs fixed and I do want to set timers and alarms with this. Oh, and it won't allow me to connect to the Play Store while I do indeed have internet. The Hiby player is buggy too. Some of the menu selections are a dead end and you have to close the app to get back to the main screen. Startup and shutdown are pretty slow. Physically it feels good with decent heft. For my Mac Mini to recognize it you have to run the Android to Mac sharing app, forget exactly what it's called. Oh, and the FM tuning is weird as when you reopen the FM radio app, it's all static/garble even thought the last station is displayed. You have to retune every time you exit the app and get back into it. Music stored on this and played via the 3.5mm cable to cans sounds very good. Don't expect to have an intense jam session though as power is limited, even though it'll get pretty loud, just not jam-worthy.

Great Upgrade from my HiBy R3
I was looking for an upgrade to my Gen 1 R3 DAP that would have a larger screen and better ergonomics. This device is running on Android and allows me to download any app that is in the Play Store...including different music player apps. The sound is also louder than the R3 but I can't say that the sound quality is any better. That's fine by me as the R3 sounded just fine through a number of different earphones and IEM's. I prefer this to using my cell phone for music because I have a ton of FLAC music files that I don't want to have taking up storage space on the phone. The quality of construction is first rate, typical of what I expect from HiBy. The clarity of the screen is very good and the controls operate fine, as does the touch screen. I also appreciate that I can download all of my favorite music and podcast apps making this far more versatile than the R3. It also came with a decent screen protector but did not include a case (included with the R3). So, I bought the optional case to protect the device. It added very little bulk to an already small device and the price of the case was fine. All thing considered, unless you are young with excellent hearing or are really a diehard audiophile I cannot see any good reason to pay more for a DAP. Highly recommended!

Be aware of the Risk...
Died Yesterday. got into a on/off loop when plugged in. Read in forums about issues like these. Had to learn it the hard way. Anyone planning to buy this keep in mind that it is a gamble. My money went to waste.

Great little DAP ... especially for TIDAL users
Picked up the HiBy M300 as a compact, affordable DAP and it’s turned out to be a really solid choice. It’s quick, responsive, and runs Android smoothly, so using streaming apps like TIDAL feels no different to using a phone, just without draining your phone battery. **** Please note: For TIDAL Users: I picked up 2 before the M300 that said you could run Tidal as an app - you couldn't. Using the M300 you CAN download the TIDAL app from Google Store, install it and run it. You CAN also download trackes/playlists without any issue **** Sound quality is clean and punchy, with good clarity and separation. It doesn’t try to sound overly warm or coloured, which I like, and it pairs very well with IEMs and easy-to-drive headphones. Plenty of detail without being sharp or fatiguing. The size is a big plus. It’s genuinely pocketable, light, and comfortable to use one-handed. Battery life has been good for everyday listening, and overall it feels well put together for the price. If you want a simple, modern DAP for streaming and local files that sounds good and just works, the M300 is an easy recommendation. For TIDAL users, at this price, to me its a no-brainer purchase
