I bought the Giraffe Tools retractable tyre inflator to keep in the car for regular tyre top-ups and emergencies, and it’s proven to be a really sensible bit of kit. Build quality feels reassuringly solid, and it doesn’t have that cheap plastic feel some portable inflators suffer from. One of the standout features for me is the self-winding cable. It’s surprisingly practical — no loose wires, no tangles, and no wrestling to stuff everything back into the boot. It keeps mess to an absolute minimum and makes packing the unit away quick and hassle-free. In use, it’s straightforward and does the job well. I topped up a couple of car tyres that were a few PSI down and it inflated them quickly without any fuss. The pressure gauge is clear and easy to read, which gives confidence that you’re inflating to the correct level rather than guessing. Noise levels are about what you’d expect for a portable compressor, noticeable but perfectly acceptable. The supplied adapters are a nice extra. I’ve used it on car tyres, a bicycle, and even a football, and changing between fittings was simple. Plugging into the 12V socket is easy, and the cable is long enough to comfortably reach all four tyres. Overall, this is a well-thought-out, practical inflator that’s ideal for keeping in the car. The self-winding cable alone makes it far easier to live with than many alternatives, and performance-wise it does exactly what it claims. Very happy with the purchase and would happily recommend it.

Absolutely a great item for us ladies , Easy to use and attach to your tyre . We don’t need a man for this one !

This works extremely well when it comes to "winding" in the electric lead, far simpler than the manual type I previously used. The pump rate is no more than the previous device, and suggestions that it will inflate in a flash are somewhat overcooked. I'd also have some doubts about its long term robustness, but given I use it probably less than once every couple of months, then shouldn't be a concern. All in all a good bit of kit and well worth putting on your shopping list if you need to pump up tyres, inflatables etc.

Very good pump but the 12v plug does not connect very well into the sockets so keeps having to be reset. I’m intending to change the plug to a better one which should make the pump easier to use.

Works well, slightly larger than expected. Auto cutoff is useful.
