Unleashing Sonic Creativity with Exceptional Functionality and Unique Tones
After receiving the four ALABS pedals, I was pleasantly surprised after playing around with them for a couple of days. These pedals are exceptional tools that can significantly enhance your creativity in playing. They produce impressive ambient sounds and create a vast sonic space with a multitude of integrated effects, along with stereo functionality. With nine effects/pitch options on each pedal, the two-way switches provide added versatility for the freeze mode on reverb, whammy for pitch, tap rate setting for delay, and modulations (oh, those modulations are fantastic!). They also enable you to adjust various parameters, such as resonance, wave shapes, duty ratio, shift frequency, etc., for different effects on a selected two-way switch, other than modulation or tone control. The pedals can perform a myriad of functions beyond your imagination, and having a freeze effect on reverb in this price range is exceptionally rare—great value! Perhaps the best value you can find on the market. Exploring and taking advantage of these impressive functionalities will undoubtedly take some time, but it's a fun journey to acquaint yourself with them. The "infinity" or Explore Mode is a novel feature available on every pedal. It provides you with five seconds to memorize parameter changes for four knobs. You can easily recall them by holding the foot-switch in Explore Mode. Holding the footswitch and turning the two-way switch effortlessly clears the memory curves. The operation of this pedal is very intuitive, but it's essential not to just trust your instincts and plug them in without getting to know all the functionalities. There is much more than meets the eye. After a short learning curve, you'll find everything easy to control and adjust. The single LED can turn white, blue, yellow, purple, green, or red, indicating different functionalities for different settings. It allows you to hold the footswitch while powering up to turn the two-way switch and change between true bypass or buffer mode (you can decide which one suits you best depending on your signal flow). All pedals have a signature tone that you'll instantly recognize when you hear them. They produce spatial, high-tech, and psychedelic sounds. Beyond their luxurious functionalities, they can genuinely add more character to your playing.

One of the best reverbs for the money
This is simply a great pedal. I have owned over 200 pedals in my semi-professional music career so I can be a little picky about what I put on my pedalboard. Of those over 200 pedals, I have around 10 on my board right now. This Alabs Cetus is one of them. I love reverb and have owned many different pedals from the RV6, the H9, Blackhole, Amplitube X-Space and many others, and this is one of my favorites. You're not going to get the in-depth variety or parameter control that you would get from an Eventide or the X-Space pedal, but for the price, you not only get a solid choice of reverb algorithms (room, hall, plate, shimmer, etc.) but you get GOOD-sounding reverbs. A lot of the reverb pedals I've used in the past that I've sold just did not have the tonal qualities that this pedal has. One of the main things I look for in a reverb is a smooth tail, in other words a decay that does not have a choppiness or "loop" sound to it, like a lot of cheaper pedals do. This is a genuine reverb pedal with a very smooth tail that trails off nicely. I can think of no major negatives with this pedal. I think it uses a little under 300ma, which is not terrible for a reverb pedal, but it is more than what you'd expect from something this size -- or from an analog pedal. And I guess the "wave" mode is probably my least favorite modes, but I don't dislike it. I just can't think of any way I'd use it -- yet, anyway. And I've heard people complain that the jacks are side-mounted instead of top, but really? How in the world are you fitting four jacks on top of a pedal this small? So, small sacrifice to make to have a stereo pedal that can fit in your pocket. All that said, I would definitely recommend this pedal. It's one of the better reverbs out there, and may be the best at this price point.

Great pedal
This is a nice little pitch shifter. It works a little differently than an octave pedal. Very versatile and good quality sound. Great addition to my guitar rig

Alabs Cetus reverb pedal
I bought this looking for something to give me ambient tones and does this pedal ever deliver!! All the reverbs are fantastic and they can get pretty weird too. The construction is rock solid, with nice feeling knobs and footswitch. Has no bearing on operation but its worth noting, the artwork on these pedals is quite eye-catching - as are the other 3 in this series. The reverbs are spectacular - standard fare is there, (room, hall, church, plate, spring) they all sound great and feature modulation on the reverb tail. There are 4 additional reverbs - swell, shimmer, cloudy, and wave. All 4 are very good and interesting. Swell does away with the hard attack and the reverb swells in. Shimmer adds an octave and with long decay settings, sounds like anything from a singing choir to a full orchestra. Cloudy is hard to describe, but the results go from extremely ambient to dark and odd. Wave is a pretty ambient effect - it makes the reverb sound like waves crashing on a beach. I have to say that this pedal sounds far superior to my Strymon BlueSky - and cost far less. It sounded good enough that I ended up with all 4 in the series. The effects are transparent and beautiful, very clean with no audible noise being introduced. In short, if you're looking for a super high-quality reverb pedal that won't break the bank, look no further than the Cetus!

Digital
Tons of option, stereo input/output is ideal, more reverb pedals should have this feature. The reverbs themselves are a little lackluster, and get very digital sounding. The price is fair for the quality. Nice pedal to experiment with different types of reverb, but not the pedal for a pristine reverb sound.

Everything is better than expected!
Just the packaging alone is just WHOA with this pedal! I'm saving the box as it's a work of art itself. They include stickers (typical fodder with this kind of thing) and an actual basic instruction manual which is rare to get with anything now. I've only used the pedal for maybe 10 minutes so far but it works perfectly and the tones that come out of it are ultra badass for this admitted reverb junkie. I can hardly believe the quality and all the features plus the packaging for this price point. Have already recommended it to a couple friends, had a Strymon Bigsky and Neunaber Immerse on my radar (both much more expensive) prior to finding this one, but now I won't be bothering with either. I'm excited to use it at my church gig this weekend which this kind of effect is perfect for. I don't doubt it will become my favorite verb (I have 3 others) in no time! I would absolutely buy another pedal from ALABS if the need for one should arise. Can't recommended this enough! Thank you!

Sounds really good for the price
It's a really nice reverb, nothing ground breaking but it really enhances everything you send through it quite noticeably. Using it in a Wet/Dry/Wet rig sending it directly to a Big Sky and it actually makes the big sky even more ambient which is a big compliment. The big sky still sounds amazing by itself but this just adds that littler nudge. To be fair I'm sure any quality reverb put before behind the big sky would do the same. All in all for the price it's really good, just wish it had the ability to save presets.

Amazing sounds, my favorite reverb
Having used this for a while now, this is my favorite pedal. It is very much an ambient reverb, so it is can muddy things up if you try and use it like you would a subtle spring. The quality of the pedal itself is very good. The little rubber feet it comes with fell off right away, but the case, knobs, and switches all feel good and I'm not worried about breakage. It is around the size of something like a boss pedal so it won't take up your whole board.

Es gibt also doch was tolles in der Preisklasse
Absolute Empfehlung.

For the price it's amazing.
I wanted to know what each effect sounds like, learn how to use them, and decide on which types I'd like dedicated pedals for at a later date. It is perfect for this use. Really professional tones, with a high range of flexibility in their settings for each effect. The Stereo capabities allowed me to experiment with signal chains on multiple amps. The only down side I found is a slight volume drop when the effect is engaged, but for the price it's amazing.
