Litter Box Hider - Brown

Love this piece of furniture! Nice & Sturdy & Attractive. I have 2 older cats. My 14 year old female has been showing signs of dementia. She is forgetting where her letterbox is--where it HAS been for 10 YEARS. She sleeps on the coach all day and has been walking over to the corner and leaving smelly presents for me to clean up on the tile. She has NEVER done this before. My husband FREAKS out every time this happens and I get angry, so the only solution I could find to keep all of us happy is to put an additional freaking litterbox in the den. We are proud of our den's style and a litterbox really puts a damper on that---until I found this box hider. I read all the reviews and worried a little about the size, but one cat weighs 11 pounds and my male weighs 13 pounds and they have NO trouble. I did buy a high backed litter pan that was taller all the way around and then backed the front of it up to the front of the box--because my male tends to try to back his but in and I was worried he'd miss, but so far so good-the box may prevent this behavior because of the shape and height of the door. I also bought some untreated puppy pads--that I THINK doesn't have any attractant on it (because I have dogs too) and layed that down under the litter box inside the hider --JUST in case- I could see where if a cat missed, it would trickle down and ruin the laminate & possibly drip out. I put it together myself --the instructions were easy to understand, but I'm not scared of that sort of thing AND I know to tighten each screw a little at a time and rotate. I'm attaching a photo. It goes so well with our den furniture, I'm tickled silly-sure it added another litterbox to clean, but with poo-pourri, my cat genie and this box, we are odor free in the den. My husband is happier---as well as can be expected to be forced to have a litterbox in the den!

My kitten makes this look good! I adopted 2 kittens, & the only place for their litter box was in my living room. I searched all over for something to hide the litter, & wasn't ugly. That was tough to find. I found it here. It's totally overpriced for what you get, but if you are over a barrel if you want something decent looking to contain your cat's litter box, this is a good choice. Sometimes you just have to spend a little more to get something that looks good. It was pretty easy to follow the assembly instructions & put it together. Other reviews said they put silicon inside at the cracks to keep the litter in. I'm definitely going to do that.

It is huge and a bit expensive for what it is.

Here's the thing - It's definitely better than your average kitty litter box because you can use it out in the open and it looks more like an end table than a cat box. That is the most valuable part of this purchase. However, considering the high cost of this item, I wouldn't have expected to have to put it all together like I bought it from IKEA, and that was a headache. And design-wise, I really wish they didn't permanently affix their logo to the front of the cat box, it's tacky, and if you're trying to conceal the fact that it's a cat box it makes that harder. Also, the metal legs of the cat box are so pointy and there's no pad or anything affixed to the feet of the box to stop them from scratching your wood floors, which is also a downer. Another thing to consider if you're replacing more of a "ramp style" box with this one that there is no middle area between this box and the outside, so there's a lot more tracking than I was used to with the old box. In the end, I'm happy I have it, I prefer it to the traditional ugly cat box, but it's pretty overpriced for what you get.

Looks nice and is a perfect size for my cat. I have a rather large tabby cat (16lbs) and there is plenty of room for him to do his business. I recommend getting a litter box with tall sides, so that your cat's urine doesn't spray onto the inside laminate. It's easy to clean, and lid is removable. I put a cat bed on top, and my cat loves to jump up and sleep or look out the window. It was pricy, but I think it was worth it for the design and sturdy construction.

I've had this for about 4 months and am very happy with it. I'm withholding 1 star because it's awfully expensive. That said, it is very sturdy and well made. The assembly instructions and diagrams were extremely clear and everything fitted together perfectly. It is a heavy unit, not something you want to be moving around from one place to another. My house is modern with no good hiding places for a litter box so I needed something that looked like a contemporary piece of furniture. The clean lines of this piece are perfect for that. I bought 2 of the Iris Open Top Litter Box with Shield units so I can rotate them and let one air out in the sun after washing. I have 2 male cats who use this and they took to it right away.

Beautiful to look at and no one has any idea its a kitty litter box. All 3 cats use it without issue, and one of my cats doesn't even like confined spaces. Easy to clean with the top chrome handle to grab on to. We just use the largest kitty litter box we could find at the store that would fit, a 18 x 16.

We have an elderly cat who has taken to accidents in the back part of the house. ThIs necessitated an extra litter box in the master bedroom. If it had to be in the bedroom I wanted it to look less like a litter box and this blends in nicely as a piece of furniture. It's fairly heavy and sturdier than expected. Assembly was straightforward and was not difficult. My cat took to the box and we've had no problems. I especially like that it's laminated wood so that in case there is an accident it won't soak into the wood.
