A new, 2021 revised edition of this book is available. Create dynamic, solo role-playing adventures without preparation. For use as a supplement with other systems. This product provides the Game Master Emulation rules found in the groundbreaking Mythic Role Playing, a product that contains emulation rules and a full, universal role playing game. Mythic Game Master Emulator is for those who do not want the universal role-playing rules, but just the game master emulator at a reduced price. In 2003 Mythic Role Playing introduced the concept of oracles, a way to play any role-playing game solo. Mythic itself acts as the Gamemaster, answering your questions and relying on logic and interpretation to move the game narrative forward while providing surprises along the way to shift the narrative. Mythic requires very little preparation to use. Adventures are meant to be played off the cuff, with perhaps a few minutes of brainstorming to come up with the initial setup. Mythic can be played entirely solo, without a GM. You can also play games as a group, letting Mythic guide you. Or, a Gamemaster could use Mythic as an aid to lead a game with minimal preparation and be just as surprised at the progression of the game as the players are. Review: Great simulator - It's a really clever way of solo roleplaying and getting the creative juices flowing. Review: Emulates but could NEVER replace. - Very simple mechanics but it does do the job of making decisions when a GM doesn't want to. It all revolves around the single 'Fate table'. Which gives a one roll result as to the likelihood of anything asked by the players being possible. The only requirement being that those questions be 'logical' and pertinent to the situation. It's a great 'on the fly' tool for winging it when you are put on the spot. The layout is a big here and there and the 'artwork' is WELL dodgy! But once you've got a grasp of how to use it you'll only be using the fate table. I'd say it was worth the money just for the inspiration.

Only a fair attempt at a procedural adventure emulator
If you can answer the first question needed to start using this book, you will not need to own this book. My fault for expecting something far more and being disappointed by what arrived. Artwork is poor, primary tables too small. Only buy if you have money to spare and no idea as to how to put a simple adventure together to be honest

One of the best tools (if not the best one) to play RPGs solo!
As a solo RPG fan, I cannot recommend this book enough. It may look complex, but trust me: it isn't. The mechanics of Mythic GME are quite simple to follow and are sure to give you excellent gaming experiences. Now, the only detail I definitely don't like is that of the images or illustrations that come with the book. They don't look good, and the proportions of the different gals portrayed throughout the pages are off. But, you can solve this issue by pasting some illustrated contact paper on top. I bought a roll of manga-themed contact paper, and now I have a fully functioning Mythic GME book, that's decent to look at.
