Feet or hands
This was very useful after a severe hand injury! The buttons are large and easy to press. She found the trackball less useful than a trackpad, and mostly used it with her feet. They also sell perepheral switches for cheeks! Very high quality. Bought it impulsively when she was injured and it came very quickly and she was able to get back on the computer right away. I would recommend this to anyone thinking of buying it. This will absolutely change someone's life!

Great for the elderly
My mother is 87yo and has light tremors. Using a regular optical mouse was hard to control. The trackball is much easier for her as are the large right and left mouse buttons. It's slower to use than a standard mouse but she's not fast on the computer anyway so accuracy and reduced frustration win out! Well worth it! Durability I put 4 stars. We haven't had it that long but it seems well built not cheap.

Maybe not yet
I have slowed the curser speed to very slow and I still have trouble keeping it so I can use it with my regular mouse. I have to hold onto my hand with the other hand to make it sit still - sometimes. I am 5'1" tall with small hands. I got this mouse 2 days ago and have used it until today. I have to use 2 hands to make it work. The ball fits in the palm of my hand but I have to use the other hand to press a button to drag anything. Maybe that is the way it is supposed to work, but it is extremely annoying. It is fine if I am just surfing, but if I want to purchase anything online, I need both hands to navigate. I think my hands are just too small and my patience too slim for this to work for me. Maybe it will be worth it when I get worse.

Great for ASD kiddo
We bought this for my son with fine motor problems because he is doing online schooling now instead of brick and mortar. This has been so great for him. Drag and drop has always been a struggle so much so that I end up having to sit and do it for him. With this mouse he can do all of his work independently. I'm so beyond impressed with the mouse, the quality and the accessibility it offers. Thank you!

Not smooth at all -jumpy- no scroll wheel
Altho it was immediately operational when plugged in, the trackball movement was erratic for moving the cursor. It is a GREAT CONCEPT, just not implemented well. The USB connection was fine, but rolling the ball (even using from tip of finger to elbow) was highly inconsistent. The logitech regular mouse has no problems on this computer. THE PRICE! Wow - someone is taking advantage of folks who need this for tremors, mobility issues. Gamers should absolutely never consider this sporadic product.

A great choice for movement-challenged individuals
I purchased this trackball for my elderly father, who suffered from Parkinson's disease. If you are not familiar Parkinson's, the symptoms can include moderate to severe dyskinesia, which is essentially difficulty controlling voluntary muscle movements. Such was the case with my father but he very much wanted to operate the computer I bought for him. With patience, he was able to use the keyboard with a fair amount of accuracy but found the mouse almost impossible to use. For starters, it was too small for him to use accurately. Any attempt to move the mouse almost always put the cursor off the screen. The other problem was that he kept "accidentally" clicking the mouse buttons. This trackball solved both problems. The ball was big enough for him to control and the buttons were far enough away from the ball that they didn't get clicked on accidentally. Of course, this made other actions like "click and drag" much harder but most modern computer operating systems can be adjusted to accommodate this. We had no issues connecting this trackball to my father's iMac, running OS X Tiger, using the supplied USB adaptor. Drivers were not required. Pros: A great choice for movement-challenged individuals. Cons: Expensive.

Great for someone with hand tremors.
Perfect for someone who has hand tremors. My husband has lost his small muscle control in his hands and his hands shake when he attempts to do things that require small muscle control. This Bigtrack Trackball is not as sensitive as a standard mouse and only requires use of the larger muscles in his hand and arm....so my husband can now use his computer again. Prior to getting this Bigtrack he tried a number of different mouses, but they were all too sensitive and he would do things he didn't intend to do. He even made a couple of stock trades he did not intend to make because of his hand tremor, which could have bee disastrous but fortunately worked out OK. With this Bigtrack Trackball things go a little slower, but he is again in control.

Great trackball for classic gamers too!
We bought this trackball for playing classic games on the PC like Centipede and Missile Command. It works great! Also good for games that use a paddle spinner, like Tempest, Breakout, etc. The ball is huge, and has the same weight as an arcade ball. Also, you can't pop it out accidentally while playing, it is locked in the housing. This is definitely the best USB trackball for gamers on the market.

I would highly recommend this for anyone who has issues with fine motor ...
I purchased this for my 86 yr old father who suffers from essential tremor. He was struggling with a regular mouse and was ready to give up on the computer all together. We set up the BigTrack ball and it has made an incredible difference. It stays in place and allows him to move the cursor to where he needs it before pressing one of the buttons (right or left click) at the top. It eliminates the erratic movements and helped Dad regain his confidence in using the computer. I would highly recommend this for anyone who has issues with fine motor skills. My only suggestion to improve, like many other reviewers, would be to make it less childish looking.
