THE Strat sound
These Fender Original '57/'62 Strat Pickups are the pickups that will deliver exceptional chime, jangle, and crisp tone. I installed them in my '94 Mexican Stratocaster (the first guitar I ever had), and run that through a Vox A15 with a little overdrive... and that's the last single coil guitar I'll be having. It's that type of tone like the guitar that plays the solo in the 1965 song 'Nowhere Man' by the Beatles (which I believe is a Stratocaster). I particularly like the neck pickup sound, but all three sound distinctively different and very good. If you want your Strat to do Strat stuff, this is it. I also sort of... installed them with custom options. The guitar was looking quite old with a hideous yellowing/browning pickguard, etc, so I went ahead and made it a whole big project. Using parts non-standard to the Stratocaster I can also play these pickups in series (BM, or NM) which makes them more humbucker-like in tone and better for heavier distortion, with option to play them out-of-phase (which strongly highlights treble). These unconventional connections also sound good, but not better than each pickup individually. As you can see I installed these things without altering the normal appearance of the guitar. I may be getting extra chime out of them because I installed 500K potentiometers instead of the native 250K ones so I just want to put that out there too. Very glad I have these pickups in my guitar.

'57/'62 pickups - The Search is Over...
Like the 80s song, “The Search is Over”, I now realize that love is, indeed, right before my eyes…or should I say ears! I owned a Made in Japan ‘57 Strat Reissue (maybe from 1984 or so) that I foolishly sold years ago. Then, I spent years under the misguided assumption that hotter pickups are somehow better. Still, I’ve always missed the way my ’57 sounded. What defines the strat sound to me is the pure bell-like tones, bright clarity, and its ability to rock or get funky if needed. I also love the satisfying quack in the 2nd & 4th positions. The Texas Specials I’ve used in my guitars for years are nice pickups, but they don’t quite deliver on the qualities listed above. With these '57/'62 pickups, it feels like a sonic blanket has been lifted and I’m really hearing the guitar again. It’s grin-inducing! Three things to note: 1. The marketing here, and on the box I received, state that these pickups rate 5 out of 5 on the output(hotness) scale. My ears tell me this isn’t so. These sound like pure, warm vintage pickups. Oddly, I’ve seen other fender literature that states they are 1 out of 5. 2. The pickup specs list a resistance for each pickup of 5.6 ohms. I tested mine with a multimeter before installation and each pickup tested 5.7 ohms. This is surprisingly consistent and close to what is advertised. 3. As other reviewers have noted, the screws can be tricky when installing pickups to the pick guard. It took some finessing to get them to go in. I’ve never encountered that when changing pickups and it did take some time and patience. The only downside is that they are pricey and now I want to put these in my other strats. I strongly recommend these pickups with the caveat that sound is so subjective. Still, if you enjoy the warmth and clarity of vintage pickups, you will most likely love these. Happy playing!

Strat's Incredible! (PICKUP The Pieces)
I have a MIM Strat that had stock pickups in it and the tone was good....but lacked that certain something. I wanted to change the pups and so I did a LOT of research on different brands and styles of single coils, and saw these on Youtube and was BLOWN AWAY! I bought a set from Amazon and got them installed and to my surprise they sounded even better in person.I could definitely hear the difference between these and the stock pickups. I love that vintage tone that these pups give you. If you're looking to upgrade your sound, try these out. You Won't be disappointed! You don't have to pay big bucks on an American Strat, and by the way, (and I'm not an Amazon employee. LOL!) Amazon has the cheapest prices on these that I've seen. Go get yours NOW!!! :o)

Sweet Mid Scooped Fender Sound! 57/62!
The pickups are great! Nice mid scoopy fender sound! The 57/62 does not have an RWRP, some might get it with RWRP, but you can't be sure of it, but if your guitar is properly shielded then it won't hum much or try a dummy coil circuit, but these pickups sound great! Have a little more treble but it can be cut down from the tone knob, it's important to have a tone knob for the bridge pickup for 57/62 pickups as it can get a lot trebly, but only if you would like it. Overall great sound! Sweet sounding! Not at all harsh! Slightly more treble! But worth the money and excellent tone. Gear Depot didn't respond on time and also wasn't helpful as the pickups got delivered very late! 6 days after the delivery date on the other hand Amazon did a great job, it returned the shipping cost I paid for faster shipping and Amazon representatives were very helpful and cooperative.

great sound
Good sound - the middle is NOT reverse wound/reverse polarity so when selecting position 2 or 4 there is no hum canceling. There is also none of the drop in volume found in modern strats. To eliminate the noise I expected I completely shielded the cavity and pickguard with copper foil. The grounds were strengthened and moved to a single point (no solder to pots) There is no noise at all until the vol pot is opened up above 8 - then it is just kind of warm - no microphonic squeals at all - don't see a need to wax the pickups. Great vintage tone - clear bell/piano like tones - using a 30watt tube - this is the sound I was after

Fantastic improvement without paying a fortune
Just installed the 57/62's into an 1980's Korean squire strat using mojotone solderless, and already a giant leap in quality! I am mainly an acoustic player so o didn't want to buy a new fender guitar so this mod was well worth it. The pickups are a bit hotter and the tone is incredible expecially with the tone blender! Highly recommend these pickups!

Noisy beyond acceptable
I have EJs on one guitar and Fat 50's on another. Building a guitar for my daughter. I chose these pickups due to fabulous reviews. I did all my soldering work correctly, and the noise was impossible. I literally pulled the pickups out and put them in a pre-wired harness to make sure. They were still unbelievably noisy. I swapped out pickups in the harness to check that that wasn't defective: nope, it was these awful 57/62 pickups. I have never, ever seen such a bad product. I wasted so much time on these noisely pickups that I finally pulled them out and slammed them in the trash. I didn't want to resell them, as no human being should have to endure this crap.

Amazing sound!!!!
Just buy them. These ARE the exact Fender Strat sound you want. I LOVE them. Needed a set while my originals were re-wound. I couldn’t get black pickup covers so opted for cream old style. They still look great!!!!! Fender Strat 1980 original owner.

57/62 pickups!
The classic Strat tones are here. Clean, twang and quack! I've played Usa standard, lace sensor, Texas specials & a few custom winds. I really like the pure vintage '59 as well. But these, one of the first aftermarket sets from Fender, wow! They got this right the first time!
