ウィンドウズ3台、アンドロイド1台ときて、5台目のスティックPCです。 安いしコンパクトだし、この際一通りのOSを体験してみようじゃないかということで買いました。 本機の使い心地は、最初にテスト使用した程度では問題なしだったという感じで、ここではクロームOSというものについて。 本機の性能じたいは★4なり5でいいと思いますが、クロームOSによって3です。 今までPCを使ったことがない人に使わせるものとして、クロームOSというのは最もとっつきやすそうと思います。 理由としては、各種アップデートやセキュリティ対策で、ユーザー側の負担がかなり小さく、ほぼゼロに近いことです。 そのあたりはグーグルでも全面に出していて売りにしていますが、一方では、ハードウェアごとにサポート期間が決まっているという、個人的にはかなり大きいと感じる欠点があります。 私の勉強不足ではあるにしろ、このサポート期間の件はだいぶ後になってから知り、何となくですがグーグルに限らずネットではクロームOSの良い面ばかりが喧伝され、この短所はあまり知られていないのでは？と感じます。 まあいったんそれを知ってしまって検索してみると情報はわんさか出て来はしますが、ただクロームOSのことを調べている限りでは、「まあすべてブラウザ内で作業して、データもクラウドに置いとく、あまり広いことはできないにしろ初心者やライトユーザーには手軽で安全なものなのね」といった評価に収斂していくのではないかと。 個人的にはPCは5年かそれ以上、ハード的に故障するとかOSの進化についていけなくなって動作が遅くてどうにもならんといった感じになるまで使いたいほうなので、セキュリティやらOSのアップで一律線引きされて「これ以下はサポート打ち切りです」というやり方のものはできれば使いたくないと思っています。 普段メインで使っているMacについてはそれなりにサポート長いので使ってはいますが、やはりOSのバージョンが上がるごとに対応ハードの条件も上がって古いのは打ち切られていくのは、中には納得し難いものもあったりします。 そういう意味ではウィンドウズが一番緩そうで好感が持てますね。 まあグーグルに関してはそれ言ったらアンドロイドスマホなんてOSのメジャーアップは1回でも有れば良い方で、特にエントリークラスなどはほとんど非対応に見受けられ、それを求めるならピクセルなりアンドロイド・ワンなりとなりますが、それにしたってサポートは2年だか3年だかでやはりiOSに比べたら短いようですし。 まあなんやかんや、アンドロイドの場合は古いバージョンでも使い続けてしまったりしていてそこまでサポートがどうのと気にはしていないので、クロームOSもあまりお金絡みのことには使わないとか一定の注意をしながら、サポートが切れたハードウェアも使い続けるつもりではいます。 実際、本機もこの投稿の2020年12月時点ではサポート切れ直後だったかと思いますので、そのあたり把握済みでその前提での使い方をするつもりならありかなと思います。

Bought the chromebit to run a news and notification display board at work. Very impressed, simply hooked it up to large monitor and loaded the slides (Google Slides) and it works perfectly. Excellent quality and provides an effective, low-cost display solution. I'm a fan of Chrome OS in general, use a Chromebook all the time, so very happy with the Chrome environment. That said, so easy to use that I'd recommend to anyone.

Quería un Conputer Stick y me alegra no haber comprado uno con Windows... Chrome OS es mucho menos demandante y aprovecha bien un hardware "limitado" como el del Chromebit Funciona de maravilla para tu TV y olvidarse de si tú TV sigue dando soporte o no a ciertas apps de streaming (me pasó con la app de Fox en una Smartv del 2015 años) La configuración es súper rápida sin embargo hay bastantes actualizaciones y esta es la parte que toma más tiempo, dependiendo claro de tu conexión a internet Te otorga 100GB gratis en Google Drive por 2 años asi que no le veo mucho problema al tema del almacenamiento Ha reconocido varios teclados y mouse es cuestión de segundos así que muy eficiente en este sentido Compré un adaptador HDMI-VGA así que lo conecte al monitor de la vieja PC de mi mamá y le va de maravilla! Puede navegar, checar sus cuentas de bancos y hacer sus trámites en línea, y por un precio mucho menor al de una laptop o un remplazo de PC, y ya al momento que desee gracias a su portabilidad lo lleva a cualquier TV de la casa o fuera de ella Aún no permite instalar la tienda Android para bajar las apps de Netflix y otras, por lo pronto todo es vía explorador, hay una versión Beta del OS que lo permite pero leí que están trabajando en una versión oficial que soporte la AppStore de Android, pero por lo pronto con el navegador todo ha funcionado de maravilla Lo recomiendo para convertir tu TV en una Smartv más poderosa, o si no requieres de suites de oficina propietarias como Microsoft o algún otro programa y lo que requieres es un ordenador para navegar el Chromebit puede ser una gran solución con una gran portabilidad

I love Android, and I love ChromeOS. I have an Acer chromebook, an Amazon Fire, an Apple iPad, and a Samsung Galaxy, and so far, and oddly enough, this chromebit is my favourite piece of technology. First things first. This is NOT a fast machine. It is slower than the chromebook I bought three years ago, yet not that slow: I've watched Rio 2016 on streaming and there is just the barest hint of lag, and I think it is my ISP's fault rather than the chromebit. It's completely portable. Just this morning I did a presentation by plugging it into an HD monitor instead of looking for an overhead projector. It does everything a chromebook or a chromebox can, except that this thing, sadly, does not have USB 3.0 capabilities. I also miss having a microphone, but at least it paired nice and easy with my bluetooth hearphones and keyboard. Wifi reception may be a little bit compromised behind the monitor or TV, but at least you can use an expander cable (I got one that was a meter long and got a coupler, and it works like a charm). Using google drive eases the lack of internal capacity: it has barely 16 GB on board, but I've tested it with USB drives up to 128 GB and external SSD drives up to 256 GB; however, cheap drives tend to use more oower and some of them can be read but not write. Mechanical drives, using too much power, are simply not up to the task. Or to the power supply available, to tell you the truth; you need a wall outlet to power up the chromebit, because there isn't enough juice available from the USB ports of any standard TV. So if you want to connect several drives or accessories, you need a hub that supports an external power supply. My only complaints are that the only USB port available is 2.0 instead of 3.0, and that it lacks a microsd expansion slot. Except for that, it's a perfect little machine for under a hundred bucks.

Works well for turning your tv into a web surfer. I paired it with a logitech keyboard/trackpad so I didn't need a mouse. Access to all Google product tabs on browser. Complaints I have are the contrast of the browser makes it hard to see side bar, and although you can make the page you're browsing larger, all the settings on the browser are still small. We have a larger living room, so sometimes I have to sit close to the TV when I need to adjust the settings. Small complaints, overall would recommend.
