The company supposedly made a revision to avoid these issues. The big negative was it did not disclose what was causing the problem and hid behind "propriety company secret sauce" BS. ** I will do multiple rinse cycles (maybe 5) at the next filter change, to ensure any chemical residue on new filters is minimized. * Some concerns about long term viability (say more than 5 years). The Aquatru units seem to be a much more durable unit with users reporting no problems after 5 years. The Aquatru also sells a de-scaling kit to remove build it. No such option for water drop unit. Honestly. some buyers regret about not getting the Aquatru. Should I buy an extended warranty? * There compressor and water pump do make a lot of noise but in my house, it is only noticeable at night. During the day in a busy kitchen, the noise is hard to notice. * All the major functions work well. The hot water and cold water feature work are very useful and used daily. * All RO units remove minerals and change the water taste. Great tasting water seems to have specific minerals that need to be added back. Also, trace minerals in mineral water are important to overall health. So you have to buy trace minerals drops (additional cost), but the water taste with trace minerals isn't as good as bottle Evian or other high end brand. Probably because I couldn't find an easy way to add back bicarbonate. * I expand the use of filtered water for cooking foods such as pasta, rice, bone broth, etc. This is helpful in reducing plastics, FPAS, etc in cooked foods. * Filters life shows 80% for carbon and 90% for RO.

The best countertop water filtration system in Canada. Removes the most impurities with a proper reverse osmosis system and the 7 stage filter is the best you'll find. I live in an apartment and couldn't drill into my countertop for an under sink system, so this is ideal for me. If you drink tea, the 185F-203F options are ideal for your variety of tea choices. My unit stopped working after the 1 year warranty due to a tank sensor issue. I contacted Waterdrop Customer Support and Robbie got me a brand new unit with new filters for the cost of 1 filter! They obviously stand behind their products over there, so they gave me a new 1 year warranty with the unit! Very happy, and thank you again Robbie.

i’ve really enjoyed this filter by water drop. It does the job though it has some weird user experience interface problems overall, it gets the water that I want at the quality that I want. However, the carbon filter has run out after about a year of use. And there are no replacements available online and they are sold out on the water drop site. It appears that they do not support having, for owning this sustainably for more than a year. Which might mean that I have to buy an entirely new filter system, which makes this a bit moot of a product.
