Produces a good waffle
I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered this, but I am glad I did. The first waffle didn’t turn out very well as I overfilled it and didn’t know how long to cook it. The second one was perfect and the third one was even better. There is obviously a learning curve to figure out the correct amount of batter to pour into it.The waffle filled a good sized plate leaving room to add the meat of my choice. My one issue is that I kept forgetting to turn down the temperature control after heating it on high. One of the surprises was the warning “Do not use nonstick sprays”. I followed the directions to brush the plated with vegetable oil, specifically avocado oil. The pancakes released easily and did not leave a mess. The one flaw in the instructions is the failure to tell you how to know when cooking is complete.Cleaning, after it cooled down, was easy with a damp cloth. I recommend turning the handle to the closed position, clockwise, for storage. This will eliminate the possibility of it opening when moving it around by the handle.

Cooks waffle evenly! Both top and bottom, and from edge to edge.
The best waffle maker I ever had was made in Italy, maybe in the 80's-before Belgian waffles became so popular. These waffles were nice and thick, & cooked perfectly. I have spent a lot of money over time trying to another perfect waffle maker. Wow! The Chefman Anti-Overflow Belgian Waffle maker is a perfect replacement. The waffles are thick, but not Belgian waffle thick, cooked perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.Use 1/2 for batter, or use the cup included then the overflow will contain the extra bit of waffle.I like the 7 heat settings, the sturdy build of the waffle maker, the working cord holder as well as the good size of the waffle. The way the waffle maker cooks seems just right, not too fast and not too hot. Also the top and the bottom of the waffles were cooked evenly, unlike many of the waffle makers I have tried.

Very good but not the perfect waffle
I don’t know what people are complaining about with this waffle maker. A lot of reviews say it’s a “burn hazard.” You can’t just grab a hot toaster wherever you want either. So I don’t know what those people are complaining about.Anyway this thing makes great waffles. They’re somewhere in between a Belgian waffle and a regular waffle. I like the “moat” this waffle maker has. If you put in the recommended amount of better then it doesn’t overflow on to your counter like another machine I bought previously did.The only reason I’m giving this product four stars and not five is because I would prefer my waffles to be a little thinner and the squares to be smaller. Also, it cooks the waffle, a little bit unevenly. Overall, a huge improvement over the previous one I bought.

Must have!!!
I love this!!!I’ve own several waffle machine and this is by far the best!No spill, no need to use oil, doesn’t stick the waffle, has the green light to let u know its ready! Easy to clean, can stand to save space and has a place to roll the cord, heat pretty fast, lightweight, durable!

Nice Waffle Iron, Nonstick Plates and Anti-Overflow Moat Work Well If You Follow the Directions
I ordered this waffle iron after trying another brand that I didn't like at all. I found this one to be very easy to use and the batter scoop is a nice addition. I started with a 1/2 cup of batter in the scoop, as the instructions recommended, and that seemed to work well. The anti-overflow moat seemed to work as intended. I only had a little overflow into the moat using a 1/2 cup of batter per waffle. Perhaps users who had a bad experience with overflow used more than a 1/2 cup of batter? Also, the nonstick plates functioned well and were easy to clean. I sprayed them with avocado oil spray on the first two waffles I made, but tried it without spraying them for a third waffle and had no issues with sticking. I used the "2" setting of doneness, which seemed to cook them nicely. I might experiment with other settings but 2 was suitable.I switched to this waffle iron after a disastrous experience with another brand (that is one of the top search results on Amazon), where the waffle stuck very badly, and it was a nightmare to clean after a significant amount of overflow. I like this iron much better and had a dramatically better experience using it than the first iron I bought. I recommend this one!

The READY light does not mean the waffle is ready
We bought this and have been using it for a bout a month. It makes a pretty decent waffle, but this appliance is more complex than it needs to be. Most waffle irons have a set temperature. You plug it in, and when it is heating up to the set point, a light comes on. When the iron is "hot", the light goes out. When you pour in batter, the iron cools off, so the light comes on again. This is NOT how the Chefman works. For some reason, it has a power light that stays on all the time to let you know it is plugged in, as if you weren't smart enough to know that. There is also a temperature control and a green READY light. Unlike most waffle irons, this light comes ON when the iron is HOT. So, the READY light does not mean that the waffle is ready, only that the temperature set point has been reached (where the light on most irons goes off, as noted above). You still need to figure out how much time it will take for the waffle to get done to the crispness you like. We have the controller set about 75%, use Bisquick according to the box recipe, and get a nicely golden waffle in about 4 minutes. Set the temperature control lower, it will take longer. Set it higher, it will take less time. Interestingly, the lights are on the waffle iron, NOT on the stand, so when you rotate the iron 180 degrees, the lights are facing down. Fortunately, there is another READY light on the underside of the iron, but, again, this light is only tells you when the iron is no longer heating, not when your waffle is ready. The stainless shell of the unit is very thin, and the stand is not solid plastic so you need to be careful not to turn the whole iron over when you rotate it 180 degrees due to its very light construction. The plastic drip plate is barely large enough to catch any batter that overflows, and there is no groove notch to mount the plate vertically when the iron is not in use. This is especially true since it necessary to press down on the handle slightly to rotate the iron, a detail which is not included in the instructions. The instructions also do not tell you to rotate the iron after you pour in the batter, however, since you bought a rotating iron, it should go without saying that you need to flip it after you pour n the batter. Also makes about a 9-inch and not a 12-inch waffle. Again, why a temperature control and 3 lights when one light on the sand that would go out to let you know the iron is hot would be sufficient? This money would be better spent on making the whole appliance a little sturdier.

Made a good waffle
Works great with only one problem, one corner doesn’t brown as well as other areas but batter is done. Not problem enough to bother with returning it.

Absolutely amazing waffle maker
This waffle maker cooks waffles to perfection. And the waffles are so big. The anti-overflow works amazing. I don’t know what other people are talking about that said it didn’t. Maybe they have an older model. But mine works great. All it is, is an extended cooking surface so any batter that goes outside of the waffle grooves just gets cooked rather than making a mess. I liked it having a bit of an extra edge from the anti-overflow surface, it made it easier to get the waffle out. And if you’re worried about presentation you can easily cut or pull the edges off for a cleaner look. It’s fool proof. It tells you when to put the batter in and when the waffle is done. It has multiple level setting based on how browned you want your waffle. I cooked mine on level 3 (medium) for reference. It’s compact and light. It’s easy to clean, I just wiped it down with a cloth, nothing sticks to it. It was so easy to use my 5 year old was making waffles with my supervision.

Funciona genial, los wafles quedan impresionantes, lamentablemente al usarla el primer día, identificamos que suena algo por dentro, como una pieza suelta, alguien sabe como puedo tramitar la garantía????

Makes the perfect waffle!!
Flawless waffles. Follow any recipe and this thing will make them perfect every time. I make normal waffles and sometimes add some blueberries so not much cleanup needed. Gets nice and hot for extra crispy with the right recipe :) I would buy another one and recommend absolutely to my family and friends. Thank you chef man and Amazon!!
