Duraglass Refresh 10 Piece Meal Prep Set

These Ello Duraglass meal prep containers have been fantastic. The glass feels very sturdy, the silicone protection adds an extra layer of durability, and the lids seal tightly without being difficult to open. Just broke these bad boys out of the box today and I love them so much! The colors are fun and vibrant, I always feel like I am winning at life when I use glass dishware so there's that...but the one thing I do ? is the rubber stretch overlay on the glass...b/c my hubby says we shouldn't heat that up in the microwave so then we're taking it off and putting it back on..so is it just for looks? Either way, I will take it off and put it back on if necessary b/c I love the colors. The quality is really top notch, the lid snaps into place so I really do love that, microwave safe as far as the glass goes, IDK about the rubber situation..and the storage size is great. I packed 6-8 ounces of chicken, a cup of rice and a cup of veggies and could have easily shoved more in...lol

I bought these for my high school son for packing lunches. He packs lunches daily, and prefers glass over plastic or metal. He carries his lunch box in his backpack all day because the kids don't have time to go to lockers, so this design is ideal without being too bulky. I chose these after looking at many different sets on here due to the capacity, construction and high percentage of 5 star reviews. I really like the design with the silicone wrap, the lids are very sturdy, and they fit great in Lands End or LL Bean lunch boxes. I also like that they are dishwasher safe, and they arrived in great condition with no cracks or breaks anywhere. The glass doesn't seem too thick or thin and they aren't as heavy as other brand glass containers he used previously. He's happy with the colors and I'm happy with the quality.

These are durable and, most importantly, the fact that they're made of glass keeps you from ingesting chemicals and microplastics like you get from those disposable, store-bought containers (of course, nothing can protect you from the microplastics already in your food supply, but this will keep you from making yhe problem worse). Note that the lids are not microwaveable. Cover each container with a paper towel for microwaving.

Love these. They are substantial and easy to clean in the dishwasher. They are eco friendly compared to plastic. The advantage of plastic however is significant and this is that it is lighter and doesn't feel like it will break all the time. While this is a huge plus for plastic; plastic also stains, absorbs odors and deteriorates over time. I have no idea what those white rough patches are that grow on plastic over time, but I don't think it's good. The silicon sleeves help to relieve the breakage anxiety that comes with glass, when you put them on a table you don't hear that "I'm fragile" sound, and if by some unfortunate circumstance it does break, the silicone sleeve will contain the danger. Here it the only downside: the lid doesn't have a vent, so when you put it in the microwave with the lid on but unlatched the silicon seal can still create a vacuum that makes it almost impossible to open, so be aware, take the top completely off and angle it to prevent this.

These are nice-sized glass containers for leftover meals. I take lunch to work in them all the time. They're durable and sturdy. They don't leak when closed. If I could do it again, though, I'd get the silicon in the net design for these because the single ring around the bottom unstuck from the glass pretty quickly. I have to take off the silicon when I wash them because they hold water, and put it back on when they dry. I have the net design on a smaller set of containers and those have remained on the glass without issue and without water getting between the silicon and the glass. Overall very good product.

To begin with, this will not be the most objective review in the world. I seek out ello products because I love them and this was not an exception. I hate using plastic to store my leftovers. It stains. It feels greasy forever. It never feels like it's clean. I'm scared to microwave them because of some plastic chemical reaction thing that I'm not even sure is a real thing. I use the dishwasher for everything. So I use glass. I consider glass containers to be an investment, and I have tried a lot of them. The classic pyrex with its rubbery lid: great for storing leftovers in the fridge, but not so much for taking them to work - the lid pops off as soon as the container becomes anything but upright. Lids warp in dishwasher. The anchor version of pyrex: same. I'm also moderate amounts of clumsy, so the fact that it would take one accidental drop to the floor and my lunch would be completely shattered was enough for me to reconsider. (note: I have dropped numerous pyrex and anchor dishes without shatter) Enter ello. Locking lids. Glass container. Microwave, oven, dishwasher safe. Silicone cage to help with drops. Did I mention beautiful colors? Because beautiful colors. I've washed these multiple times, microwaved and baked with them, forgotten tomato based leftovers in them for undisclosed and unknown amounts of time. They've been found in the darkest recesses of the fridge. And they're still beautiful. They're still unstained. They don't have a funny smell (after dishwashing, of course). And I don't have to worry about contracting some possibly serious illness from microwaving plastic. Win, win, win, win. Buy them. Love them.

I’ve been using the containers for work lunches for more than 6 months. Whenever I take it out of the fridge at the workplace, I leave the container at room temperature for half an hour or so before warming the food up in the microwave. This one cracked when I heated it straight out of the chiller.

I have about 30 of these and fill them with chilli, soup and stew. They were 25 bucks for 5 at Costco but Costco ran out and I like them so much I bought two more sets on Amazon. They seal really well and if you have to heat something up in the microwave you are not heating up your food in plastic. I did break one by chipping the lip...not sure how I did that but it happened nonetheless. Otherwise that have all held up really well and I fire them in the dishwasher with no issues.
