I’m really pleased with this Presch folding rule. The 2m length with angle scale is perfect for precise measuring, whether for DIY projects, woodworking, or home improvements. Really well made and very useful.

I find these rules are the sweet spot for value for money. I wouldn't say they are very durable but I do get a lot of wear out of mine before I need to replace it( I'm a joiner), usually because the markings at the ends have worn off. If you are not familiar with these types of rules they do need a bit of getting used to, it's not the first time I've been too aggressive folding it and end up breaking it. The temptation is to buy the plastic versions of these rules but I find although the markings last longer these are too flimsy. These wooden ones are more rigid and better to use.

This is useful for marking fabric that is very long. It would be better to have the same metrics on both sides of the rule, because if you are onoy using a few parts of the rule the bulk of the parts folded means it would be easuer to flip the rule to draw the lines.

If you haven't used a folding ruler before - they are simply great. A tape (even a class one) may still have a mm of movement in the tapes clip - there is none in a folding ruler. Used it to great effect laying out some foundations for a shed - I taped off the mark I wanted and was able to set all 15 precisely. In the past i have used a jig as you don't want the tape clip moving a foundation when you have it levelled so laying one of these across the top is perfect. Every woodworker should have one as an essential tool.

Been using these for a few years now. My old one is worn out so replaced it with this. They’re not good for every application but you’ll find if you have one in your bag it’ll get used as much as your tape rule. Very versatile indeed.
