Lumie Task | Highly Adjustable Bright Light Therapy LED Desk lamp for Winter Blues, Crystal Clear Illumination, Maximum Visual Comfort, Improved Mood and Energy | Charcoal Blue

Very happy with this quality task lamp which is helping me get through the dark winter. Note that the Lumie website advises using this within arms length of the face, and when I did that I got eye pain (don't worry, it goes away). So now I have it about 2m away and I keep it on from when I wake up until about 6:30pm, dimming it a bit towards the evening. It makes a huge difference in my mood and energy. The drawback is that I can't use it as a task lamp in the evening, because the light suppresses melatonin and would cause me insomnia. You want to stop using it at least three hours before you go to bed. But during the day it is excellent for tasks were you need light and colour clarity. The build is robust - I love that the plug connects and disconnects from the base. I wish the lamp had a bit more swivel so I could tilt it towards the ceiling. It only swivels from a down position to straight ahead, but you can swivel it from side to side. I got the mustard yellow colour. Looks great on or off. Worth the cost - but try to find it on sale if you can.

Been using this SAD lamp over several winters, and it also doubles as a ring light, and desk lamp overall. I really love the minimalist design and the touchpad to switch it on and off. Be sure to turn it off later, otherwise you stay wide awake - since it is so good, I kept using it all day long and then wondered why I was unable to sleep. Very good investment and comes in fun colours. I have the white one to compliment my desk design and layout.

Good Quality but should be for the price, also still waiting for my change in mood, or is that asking too much?

This is a fantastic desk lamp, you can move the top around to face away, directly at you or down to your desk surface. It's easy to adjust the brightness and it does get very bright too. I'm not sure whether it improves my mood but it does help to wake me up quicker in the mornings when I sit down at my desk. It is a very expensive lamp though for what it is, a cheaper alternative would be an Elgato Key Light Pro which gets brighter and allows the colour temperature to be changed too. Another alternative if you are looking purely for a task lamp would be the Anglepoise Type 75 desk lamp, which is infinitely more adjustable. I have both alternatives which I mentioned above, but the Lumie Task does what both these lights do in a smaller form factor and a single lamp and for that reason, I think it's a keeper, despite the high price. I turn it on full in the morning and point the lamp at my face, after an hour I point the lamp down to my desk and use it like a regular lamp.

The Lamp works well and looks good. But Amazon in itself is not what it seems to be. If you call the customer service they tell you something (it get's delivered soon, you get a discount later on). But at the very end they don't keep their word. It was delivered, but the discount I never received. So thanks for nothing. Update 1 phone call and such a try later: It seems, if you reach a competent person on the other side, which takes you seriously and reviews all. They stand to their word. But nevertheless it was stressful to come to this point. Overall I rated the lamp on three stars now, as it works and does it job well.

Clearly it's expensive (even on discount). Also, as a SAD light it is on the low end of recommended light output (you have to be far too close to the light for comfort for recommended lux), so that's definitely a secondary purpose. However as a task light, which is its primary purpose, it's wonderful. The light is easily adjusted for position and brightness, and the maximum brightness is ample for any purpose. The spectrum range of the light is wide and very sun-like, and diffused through the filter to be very uniform, resulting in no eye strain and producing a wonderful quality of light for doing things.
