How many screw terminals are in the chime itself? I'm just looking to replace my old one that has only two wire terminals.

Just use the two terminals other than the one labeled rear. That is, don't use the one labeled rear. Although it will work if you use the one labeled rear instead of front the chime will have a single sound rather than the two tone ring.

Im looking for a relatively loud, wired door bell sound. What is recommended? Thanks in advance.

This is a great kit, but I don't see it any louder than any other doorbell. I now use a Ring doorbell connected to this box and not only does this box ring like a normal doorbell, but the app on my phone also rings and that can be loud and vibrate at the same time, depending on how you set up your smartphone.
