Great little security cameras
This is a really nice outdoor camera. I put it up as a little security camera and to see the wildlife that cones into my yard. It was very easy to set up,bthe instructions were very easy to follow, and it connected right away to my wifi. I bought 4 cameras and they all connected and synced together perfectly. I am not the most tech savy person and I didn't have any trouble setting it up. The cameras capture very good videos and photos, the quality is very crisp and bright. It allowed me to see what happens outside my home night and day. The night ph9tos and video are just as clear as the day time photos. The night videos and photos are done in black and white. I have 2 cameras that I hung from my porch and they were easy to assemble and hang up, the other 2 u bought a pole and stuck them in the ground because I didn't have anything to hang them from, and they fit well on that too. I defiantly feel safer having them around my house.

I'm loving the Outdoor 4! Sync module core unit performed well, also... GREAT purchase
I had a bad experience with my Blink system years ago, when I first installed it, but a Blink representative reached out to me and replaced all my cameras. This completely changed my opinion on Blink - the new cameras they sent worked as well or better than I hoped, and I was amazed at how easy the process was. However, I mention this to say that because of that experience, I was a harsh judge on the new sync core module and the Blink 4. Here's my best example of how I feel about the Blink 4 and sync core - The camera I am reviewing now, I ordered 2 days ago, and I already ordered more and will be reviewing them next! I was so impressed with the Outdoor 4 that I bought more the very next day. I honestly didn't even strictly NEED them... but the value for the money is so good that I jumped on a sale and am rounding out my perimeter viewing. Installation is super-simple, and the field of view blew me away. The IR emitter performs very well even on the lowest setting, and you can turn off the indicator LED if you so choose, so no one can tell if the camera is viewing them or not. The speaker is surprisingly useful for such a small size. One thing I didn't like - the Sync Core module does not have an SD card reader, so you are limited to live view or a cloud-based, subscription service. Amazon makes this very clear on their page, even putting it in a colored callout box, so this is not something that should come as a surprise to anyone... but I can't help but mention that this feels a bit off to me from a brand I have always found to be all about customer satisfaction. Still, they aren't hiding this fact from you, and you have 2 other options for Sync modules if you don't like this feature. I was able to find a doorbell, Outdoor 4, and Sync XR package on sale for a fantastic price, so I bought that, too, and will use the Sync XR. I like having the Core as a backup, so this isn't a star-removing thing for me... but I hope Blink doesn't start making their systems less accessible to the consumer. That is what made me love them - that, and the unprecedented customer service! All my other Blink products have been gentle on the batteries, so I believe them when they say the Outdoor 4 can go 2 years on the included lithium AA batteries. These cameras are a giant leap forward from my older cameras, that I still love, and Blink has proven to me they are committed to customer satisfaction by doing more than they had to for me those years ago when I was unhappy. Not only can I say I will buy again, I already did, the very next day after using the Outdoor 4 for the first time. I'm completely satisfied and then some!

Great Value, Great Picture, Easy to Use.
These blink outdoor cameras are terrific. They blend in and I don’t think many visitors have noticed their presence as there is an option to turn off the little blue light. Connectivity is great - only lost connection with one in 30 days and one is a little far from the connection pod. Impressed with battery life and clarity of image. Very nice system. Easy to set up and would buy again! *We do have an issue with the two way speaker where the person on the camera end can’t hear the person speaking. Not sure what that’s about. It isn’t necessary for our purposes and it’s still a good value for the money so we are sticking with them.

Upgraded to newer version
The newer version of the blink outdoor cameras work really well. I had the older blink outdoor cams and decided to upgrade. I purchased the bundle of three cameras with the newer version of the blink doorbell. One of the cameras just stopped working about two weeks after I installed them. Did all the troubleshooting steps but it still doesn’t work or even turn on. Will contact blink support for assistance but think I may need a replacement for it. All other cams and the doorbell work great. The video is clearer and motion detection is better with the blink outdoor 4 cams. The blink doorbell now features full body view of people at door. Nice cameras and doorbell, very pleased either my purchase.

Changed my mind and returned the Blink Outdoor 4
I have 3 Blink systems at 3 houses utilizing 10 cameras. Two houses are just Mini 2 camera systems (doesn't need a sync module) and one house utilizes a sync module. From my experience, it was very easy to install. The iPhone app is well thought out and fairly intuitive. The video quality is amazing compared to other systems I have seen. The range of the Outdoor 4 is amazing. It detects approaching vehicles over 200ft away - people over 100ft away. The Blink system seems to be well thought out. I wish other companies did as well at making their products and apps work as well as Blink's. HOWEVER, there is one major problem. Not a deal killer for me by any means, but a PIA when it happens. And you should be aware of this before you buy. If you have a very quick power "blip" (1/2 second or so blink), it can crash the entire system. And it doesn't usually recover without intervention. If you have a Sync module, the problem can be severe from a time perspective. For the Mini camera system without a Sync module, the fix usually involves unplugging the camera for about 5 seconds and then plugging it back in. It will usually restore and function just fine. While inconvenient, it doesn't eat up too much time. But if a Sync module is in your setup, the fix is a lot more work. It won't recover by just unplugging. It acts as though the whole system got its brain scrambled. The fix for a setup with a Sync module is to delete that entire system within the app and reinstall everything, starting with the Sync module. Fortunately Blink does make installing their components fairly pain free. But you will have to make adjustments to all your settings for all the components. That can eat up a bit of time. For my system with 4 cameras and a Sync module (5 components), the whole process takes about an hour to get it back up and running, including changing all the settings to my preferences. Fairly straight forward, just time consuming. Despite what technical support will tell you, that is the only way I have ever gotten a system with a Sync module back up and working after a power blip. I have used 2 systems with a Sync module and both required this intervention after a power blip. A way to avoid this kind of problem is to have the cameras and Sync module plugged into a UPS. Two of my systems utilize a UPS to power the system. They seldom have issues. The one system I cannot utilize a UPS needs regular attention from power blips and/or spikes, which are rather frequent. Previously that system only had Mini 2 cameras without a Sync module. When a problem occurred, didn't take very long to fix. But when I added the Sync module to that setup to be able to use an Outdoor 4 camera, the fix became much more of a problem. I did move the Sync module to a UPS and that has helped. To eliminate the need for a Sync module to record events when using only Mini cameras, I switched to using Blink's online recording service. It is well worth the cost with the number of time consuming problems that eliminated and the ease with which it records and plays back events. I have all three houses recording online. Works really well. But with the Outdoor 4, you have to have a Sync module (which came with the camera) even with online recording. In my opinion, the Sync module is the weak link in the chain for what is otherwise a tremendous value for what the Outdoor 4 offers. Would I recommend Blink? Absolutely! Just probably not for a remote house that would be difficult to get to in the event of a power blip. You'd be off-line until you could intervene. I have talked with folks with competing systems and their problems are much worse. And they usually paid much more than I did for my Blink systems. Blink could make their product more bullet-proof if they could just get the system components where they could gracefully handle a power blip. It would be better to have the system go completely off-line when there's a power blip and reboot in 5 or 10 seconds than to have the entire system get locked up and off-line until there's manual intervention. I just think it only fair that you know what you're getting in to. For the price, the quality of the video and how well it detects intrusion, I can accept a bit of aggravation. All my properties are local and easy to get to. For me, Blink is a good value. UPDATE: I finally had enough. The Outdoor 4 was too problematic. In a nutshell, the camera worked fine until Blink pushed an update out to the sync module. Twice. The last one was pushed out on 10/30 at 7:08pm. At 7:10pm, the entire property setup went down. No amount of trying to reboot the system worked. I thought everything was "bricked". And the sync module was plugged into a ups and was 4 ft. from the router. All the other devices connected to wifi had any issue. So it wasn't my router, despite where Blink's technical support wanted to start with diagnosing the problem. They wanted me to disconnect everything connected to the router to see it that's where the problem lay! My telling them the problem was with their pushed update fell on deaf ears. My other two systems that don't use a sync module kept working just fine and never had any issues. So my recommendation now is to consider the Blink Mini cameras by themselves. They don't require a sync module and in my experience they work very well. Don't use anything with a sync module.

Definitely satisfied after several fails with other cameras
Love these cameras! We tried several security cameras and these are by far our favorite! We do have the cloud subscription but compared to the price of others we find it very reasonable. We pay ours a year at a time, it saves you about 20 doing it that way. If you can’t pay a year in advance it’s only 10 a month. To us, we believe that is a fair price like I said compared to the others and you don’t have to mess with SD card. We purchased I believe the plus bonus plan so we can add more cameras in the future without paying extra for cloud storage. We have the box for the cameras plugged into our kitchen and our camera outside on our detached garage on the furthest side away from our home reaches no problem and we do not have a WiFi extender. Super easy to hang up and to set of on the app. The batteries say two year life but honestly it just depends on how much activity the camera gets, my advice is to get rechargeable batteries or pay the extra buck for good batteries. The battery life is still great no complaints and we live in town on a corner lot so we get a lot of motion detections. Which you can also control the motion detections in the app. The picture at night is freaking awesome as well. I like how you can talk through the camera as well. My only complaint which is honestly probably due to our internet is that there is about a 2-3 second lag when a motion is detected. For example, my wife got home and locked her car so I heard the honk and I got on the cameras to talk to her and by the time it loaded I saw her walking in the front yard she was already opening the door, so like I said about a 2-3 sec lag. And if you have it set to record for 30 secs or however long, there is a few seconds in between recordings if there is still motion detected. So if your outside talking to someone and it continues to record when it hits the record time and restarts you loose a few seconds in between. (You can also change how long it records when a motion is detected.) Bottom line super happy with the purchase!

A good set of wireless security cameras
An excellent set if you're looking to have a small camera system (or additional cameras of this brand) for your home or business. As this one comes with two outdoor cameras, it should cover most of your basic needs or additions to your existing Blink system. The Outdoor 4 cameras are clear and easy to set up and even at night, you can adjust infrared lighting to supplement any to no lighting. Visual operating distance would probably be no farther than 10 feet to get good facial capture. Any farther and your Outdoor 4 camera(s) could be used to supplement what's going on your property from a general standpoint. Each of the cameras detect motion and and start recording upon detection of movement, vehicles, or people. The algorithms or AI make pretty good determination of this. Keep in mind, this can run on AA batteries or an external power source like a solar panel that would plug into the USB-C port on the back. However, if you're looking for something that gives you consistent live-view or multiple-camera view, you may want to look for another option. As far as power, if you're going to do consistent live view (and only one camera at a time), you'll probably want your cameras plugged in for power to an outlet. These are meant to be wireless as far as power. These cameras are good if you only need to know when the cameras detect something, making you go to the app and opt to use the live view to see what's going on. You can only view cameras from the app, you can't log into a website to watch from your browser. It's still a good system, just be sure to study what your wants and needs are first for a video system and then determine if not consistently monitoring your video is for you, only watching clips of what's going on when it records something.

Not a bad outdoor camera
Key features and claims from the manufacturer / specs: • Wireless, battery-powered outdoor security camera system (includes Sync Module Core + AA lithium batteries) with two-year battery life (under ideal conditions) for the “Outdoor 4”. • 1080p HD video resolution, wide field of view. • Weather-resistant (designed for outdoor use) with easy DIY installation (no major wiring required). • Two-way audio, motion detection, ability to work with Amazon Alexa (voice alerts, integration). • Local storage option (via Sync Module) + cloud storage via subscription. ⸻ 👍 What people like Here are strengths commonly praised: • Ease of setup: Many users appreciate how straightforward the installation is (battery powered, mount it where you like, sync module, app setup). For example one review said “Most users found it takes less than 10 minutes to install and sync the camera to their app.” • Good value / features for the price: For a relatively modest cost, you get a wireless outdoor camera with 1080p, motion detection, two-way audio. Reviewers note the value aspect. • Long battery life (on paper): The advertised “up to 2 years on two AA lithium batteries” is a strong selling point and is viewed positively. • Sufficient daytime video quality: Daytime video performance is often described as “good enough” for many home-security uses (though not top tier). For example TechGearLab noted “image clarity is okay up close” though not perfect. ⸻ 👎 What users found lacking / issues There are also a number of recurring criticisms and trade-offs to keep in mind: • Battery life in real world often falls short: Although the 2-year claim is attractive, in practice many users report far shorter battery life when the camera is in a busy area (frequent motion triggers, live‐view use). For example one review noted heavy usage resulted in much quicker drain. • Connectivity / Sync Module reliability: Some users report problems with the cameras dropping offline, sync module issues, or difficulty maintaining stable connection especially if WiFi signal is weak. For example, Reddit threads show users frustrated: “I have 5 Blink cameras… one Outdoor 4 keeps going offline frequently.” • 1080p resolution is modest: In the world of security cameras there are many cameras offering 2K or 4K resolution; the Outdoor 4’s 1080p is serviceable but not top-end. Some reviewers say the footage isn’t great for identifying fine detail (like license plates) when things are further away. e.g., from TechGearLab: “image quality… falls short … image is quite pixelated… fails to capture letters on a license plate.” • Advanced features locked behind subscription: To get full benefit (person detection, cloud storage beyond trial) you likely need to pay for a subscription. Some reviewers flag this as a drawback. • Some mounting/physical build or access issues: A few users say the mounting hardware or finish isn’t the strongest and installing in awkward spots may reduce performance (WiFi signal, field of view, weather exposure). • Night vision / low-light performance has limits: While adequate for many purposes, some reviews say the low-light detail is not as strong as premium competitors. For example TechGearLab: “Low-light video quality is a weakness … I’m not very confident the video… would be clear enough to identify a person’s face or a vehicle’s license plate.” ⸻ 🎯 My verdict & recommendation Would I recommend the Blink Outdoor 4? Yes — with caveats. Here’s how I’d summarise: • If you are looking for a budget friendly, easy-to-install outdoor camera (battery powered, wireless, minimal wiring) and you are okay with 1080p resolution, and you don’t demand every advanced feature, then the Blink Outdoor 4 is a good option. • On the other hand, if you require top-tier video resolution, guaranteed long battery life in a heavy-use environment, zero connectivity issues, or you want advanced smart features without subscription, then this may not be the ideal top choice. If I had to rate it for value/overall usefulness in a standard home scenario I’d give it 7.5/10. Best placed scenario: You’re a homeowner/renter wanting to add a few outdoor cameras to watch driveways, side doors, patios; you have decent WiFi; you don’t want complex wiring; you want something “set and forget” mostly. Less ideal scenario: You’re monitoring a high-value area where capturing fine detail (faces/plates) is critical, WiFi signal is weak outdoors, or you expect heavy usage (lots of motion triggers, frequent viewing) which might shorten battery life.
