I used this product to secure the butt end of fishing rods in storage on my Mako boat. The boat has long tubes built into the bow. Each tube accepts one rod, tip end first, which leaves the butt end of the rod and the reel hanging out. Being the heavy end of the pole combined with the natural bow pounding, securing it is essential. The boat came with an elastic strap to handle this, but it’s difficult to access and does not adequately secure the bouncing weight. I bought this product to remedy this, and it does. Being hard rubber, there is zero potential for it scarring my rods and reels, plus it grips the rod handles really well. The two strap-length options allow you to adjust for various rod handle diameters. The instructions suggest you cut the strap for one length or the other, but I left mine intact so I can use it either way. The flat side of the rubber bracket flexes just enough so you can move the notch setting without having to un-mount the bracket. The end of the strap has a nice little tab that’s easy to grab with wet fingers. I also like that only one small hole had to be drilled in my boat to mount it.

these work great for holing gaff and brush on my dock. i use them to hold telescoping bruch under my carport also. they are holding up great even though they are on my dock where salt water and salt air are at them all the time.

I did research trying to find the right clamp for my application. I selected these but I had to modify the rubber straps to make it work properly. I feel the rubber clams are good quality but it also needs a slight modification. I mounted the clamps but was unable to get the rubber starps to hook due to the indentation on top of the clamp. I made my own which works really good. So I deduced one star for the straps. Photos explain…

These are idea for securing a net, our oar or grab bar. They could also be used for larger rod handles and such. The body of the holder is a hard rubber and straps rubber. They are easy to secure and hold the items in place well.

I use these to secure my push pole on my flats boat. Does the job. I like the fact they don’t require maintenance and do not catch fly line. They are inexpensive enough they can be replaced every few years due to UV degradation, though after a year I the show no sign of such.

We purchased two Percs SOF-LOC Boat Hook/Oar/Gaff Holders for our ply on frame fiberglassed, 20' LOA, 8' Beam backyard built boat. The design permits the oar to be mounted on the cabin's interior framework, out of the way, as the oar is an emergency device not often used. The design of the holder also makes for a truly secure mounting of the boat hook, near the helm and out of the way, but ready to be used at a second's notice. We're very happy with the holders as they are easy to install and safely and securely hold the boat's oar and hook. Highly recommended.
