Lucas oil stabilizer for older car
This has been great for my 2012 Civic that I use for commuting and Costco runs. Thicker than regular oil and it quieted the little ticking noise I’d hear on cold starts. I added it during my usual oil change in the driveway and the bottle pour was easy, no weird mess on the concrete. Traffic is awful where i live and I’m idling a lot, so I like feeling like the engine has a bit more protection. Took a short road trip last weekend and the car felt smoother, plus the oil on tge dipstick still looked clean. Glad I tried it instead of rushing into a new car.

Best on the market!
Been using this for many years. No engine failures at all. May not be able to use in some of the newer cars. They require very thin oils.

Good product in a pinch.
does what it says, slows oil leaks and will up the oil pressure for some time.

Useful oil stabilizer for my truck
I've been using this Lucas Oil stabilizer in my truck's engine to help it run smoother. at first, i noticed less engine noise and a bit better performance during long drives. it’s pretty handy for keeping the oil stable, especially when driving on rough roads. that said, it’s not a miracle product and won't fix major engine issues, but it definitely gives a bit of extra protection. i do wish it came in a larger bottle or more budget-friendly, since it’s a bit pricey for just one quart. overall, it’s a decent addition if you want to help your engine run a little better and last longer.

Thick oil that really helps engines
Actually grabbed this for my old beat-up truck I use to drive between my dorm and home on weekends. The engine has a ton of blowby and I’m not ready to pay for major work. I pour this in and the truck runs smoother and burns less oil, which is nice because I’m broke and gas money is already painful. The stuff is super thick though. I keep the bottle near the heater in my room before I head out, then it pours way faster. First time I tried it cold, I was just standing there in the parking lot waiting forever. Glad I figured out that trick.

What to know
I am writing this so people can understand what the product does and how it is intended to be used to. This product increases shear viscosity in your oil over the life cycle of the oil. You can effectively achieve the same things by going to a higher viscocity oil such as moving from 0w-20 to 5w-20. The smaller the distance between the two numbers indicates a lower shear and improved viscocity. In the difference mentioned the 5w-20 would be a slightly thicker oil and a little less adequate for cold climates. Oil additives are included in the oil to try and make up the difference but I will allow you to make the call on how effective those are. Lucas claims to eliminate dry starts. While this will be something that is more true on a fresh oil change one cannot know how well that is maintained over the life cycle of the oil as the Lucas will break down on high heat and high tolerance engines. I wouldnt call it snake oil but as the price has increased it has become more an evluation of just moving to the higher viscocity oil to achieve the same effective outcome at a lower cost. Lastly, If you dont want to change the viscosity of your oil and you question Lucas. then look into Pennzoil Platinum. It is made from natural gas and has less molecular break down meaning it retains the viscocity better through the life cycle of the oil.

Thick oil stabilizer that works
Wound up grabbing this Lucas Oil stabilizer for my old Civic that just hit 160k miles and was starting to sound a little tired. I mixed it in during an oil change and the engine noise calmed down a bit right away. Nothing dramatic, just less ticking and a smoother idle. I’m renting right now and trying to keep this car alive instead of taking on a new payment, so stuff like this matters to my budget. The thicker feel of the oil when I poured it in made me weirdly confident it would help. After a week of commuting and a grocery run in stop and go traffic, the car feels happier and so do i. Price is fair and the quart bottle should last me one more change, which is reallly nice.

Great product, good price
Great product. Had it delivered to the door within a few days at about $7 less per liter than I can get it at the local box store.
