It's shorter than an office stapler, by maybe half an inch, and lighter in weight. It is sturdy and will not break with normal handling. I use this at work, because my work-supplied stapler disappeared. Now I can stow it away, because it does not belong to the department. I've never had it jam, but staplers will jam, eventually. It is resistant to jams, btw. I like the colors, especially the light blue.
