Impressed with this unit. Our first dehydrator and it was east to learn how to use and easy to clean up. Dried out nectar, kiwi, apple, pears. Need to learn how to dehydrate grapes. Quiet operation makes it easy to leave on overnight without being woken up from the fan.

This machine is amazing. I’ve made so much money back on it. Never knew I was so good at making Scottish jerky and fruit cakes. Plus it’s amazing for making homemade bread rise faster. Just make sure it’s sealed good

For at least 5 years I did a lot of drying in this same model but it had a different brand name at the time and it came with stainless steel shelves. It provided hundreds of hours of good service. When its fan motor or controls quit recently I could not find parts replacement. I discovered this exact model under the present brand name. However, the new model has plastic shelves and they seem to more frequently interfere with the sliding front "door" if not very carefully set in place. Otherwise, I expect the same kind of long term use.

I love everything about this product! I think I received one that doesn't work properly regarding temperature control. I am ordering a replacement. I tried to dehydrate frozen fruits, cutting the strawberries, even one layer fruit and after well over 24 hours the fruit was not dehydrated. Yesterday I layered frozen vegetables and got the same effect, non dehydrated vegetables after more than 10 hours. Based upon the 2 posted reviews, and reviews of other Samson Silent dehydrators, I'm hoping for a POSITIVE experience with the replacement dehydrator. This dehydrator is the perfect size, easy to clean and very low noise level. I'm anxious to receive the replacement so I can become a successful food dehydrator!

This is a really quiet, efficient dehydrator! With the fan located in the rear rather than at the base, it’s much easier to clean and maintain than my previous one. I’d highly recommend it.

I love this machine. I’ve dehydrated quite a bit since I received it with no problems. It’s my first dehydrator so it’s easy to use. I’ve done meat, fruit, & flowers. I learned that fruit will stick to the trays & some can be difficult to remove, but I’ve been told that’s the norm for dehydrators in general. I bought the GUCUJI Pack of 5 Premium Non Stick Silicone Dehydrator Sheets for Fruit Dryer Mesh for less than $12 & they work perfectly! Very happy with both purchases.

Hace un ruido como si el motor estuviera suelto. Pensé que quizá donde lo coloque no estába tan plano pero no, lo puse en otra superficie y es lo mismo. El ruido lo hace por ratitos pero es algo molesto. No se si pedir un cambio. Cabe mencionar que tengo otro igual y no hace ese ruido 🤨

UPDATE BELOW. I purchased this dehydrator just over a year ago. I’ve used it POSSIBLY a dozen times. And it’s dead. This is not a cheap machine, I expected it to last longer than the $40 machine you can buy at Walmart. Which is why I didn’t buy the $40 machine at Walmart. I bought this December 2021. It was dead by January 2023. I’m very unhappy. Since the writing of this review I have been in contact with the company who seems to be happy to help correct the problem. If they make this right, I will be happy to change my review. Please watch for an update. Deborah After some back and forth with the company and some 3 weeks, they sent me a new machine body. Not the shelves just the actual body of the machine. Which was fine. I used it about six times (That seems to be the lifespan of this machine.) And it's dead again. This machine is no good. I would not recommend it at all.

I just got it yesterday and of course the kids had to dehydrate something immediately to test it out so we did strawberries. The product is very quiet. Kind of a gentle humming sound. And seems to work well. My only issue is the door design. The sliding door does not slide with ease at all. It actually sticks and it's quite difficult to get up and down. The door seems to catch on the edge of the trays deapite them being pushed all the way in. I'm worried it will break one day because of it. Over all this is a good dehydrator thus far but we'll see once I really put it to work when the garden is ready. To the makers of this product I would highly recommend adjusting the door design or shorten the length of the trays by half a centimeter for future versions of this product so the door slides with ease.
