Difficult to mount, but works perfectly.I recommend spending some time finding the right screws and washers, if mounting into wood. Worked fine for a 1/4" board, but very difficult to prevent the screws from going through. If you mount to a 3/4" board you will need to cut into the underside of the wood to thin it out. Spinner feels great.

This is a great plug and play way to add a trackball and spinner to an arcade. They both work really well and it’s great having both the trackball and spinner in one package.I did have an issue with my arcade (batocera build) recognizing the trackball and spinner. I eventually figured out the Mayflash Dolphin Bar I had plugged in for shooting games was preventing any other accessories. ( like the trackball and spinner) being recognized.By adding a USB switcher I am able to go back and forth between shooting games and ones that use a trackball with ease.

Pretty good, however switching the dip switches to all white… is still blue/greenBatocera on my raspberry pie 4 had no problems with this trackball/spinner.

I bought this with the intent to use with my Rasberry Pi. I have a 128GB image that covers several emulators. When I received the unit, I found it to be very well built and packaged. The trackball, although small, rolls smoothly and is accurate. The spinner is especially nicely weighted and spins for days. The only emulator on my Rasberry Pi, that recognize the trackball and spinner out of the box is MAME. I contacted Thunderstik customer service who provided a nice youtube video that explained how you can change control options in Retroarch. This process is done in the Linex code and is not as simple as plugging in the USB trackball and spinner to map the controls in other emulators (Nintendo, Atari, Sega etc).

Works great on arcade board from China. Nice to have a trackball as well as a spinner.

I needed a 3" trackball, but the harness with the trackball and spinner are excellent quality and formfactor.

Not sure if I got a bum unit, or if they are all like this, but the trackball has a rough feel when spinning, and is not very free spinning at all / stops spinning quite quickly.

I'm using it to make a custom keyboard and tracker setup for a family member, works perfectly for the task

Ball is a little smaller than I expected but seems to roll very smoothly. Since it is for a bar top arcade the size should actually be a benefit. Will need to see just how well it works for large hands.

If you want to bring back the feel of the arcade, a gamepad simply won't do, you must have proper arcade controls!! And to play classic games like Centipede, Tempest, Arkanoid, Golden Tee, and many other similar titles, you need a trackball or a spinner for precision movements to not fail miserably. GRS thunderstick controls are some of the best in the world. They're very responsive, good looking, and weighted nicely just like they were back in the day.I couldn't wait to get them mounted before trying them out, so I just plunked them down in front of my monitor and plugged it in to the USB, started up MAME, and was enjoying my favorites in minutes after receiving the package!
