Excuse my doubting.... I hadn't expected something that was engineered with such precision. I had read reviews of various similar plastic devices and there were many complaints/concerns about how the phone wobbled/moved slightly or it was difficult to set up. This device is all aluminum with precision 3-way screw adjusters to fine tune the alignment. Simply put, you attach the device to the lens/device that you are going to use first (Microscope, monocular, binocular, etc). It clamps very snug. Once that's fitted, then you determine which of the lens of the camera is the one you want (normally the "normal" or telephoto lens) and then clamp the device to your phone with the appropriate lens roughly over the lens of the microscope/binocular etc). Once that's done, you then have the 3 way adjustment. The red Adjuster allows you to move the camera forward or back (in-out) to the lens of the device. There are then 2 additional adjusters, one to adjust the left-right of the phone over the lens you attached it to and the other the adjust the up-down of the phone over the lens. So you do have total adjustment. I got mine fitted and working on a Samsung A15 within a couple of minutes. I should also point out that I have a hard shell case on my phone (I didn't take that off). The downside to the hard shell case is that it is thick and does not allow the device lens to touch the Phone's Camera lens. This means that I get a round image on my phone but soon as I set the phone to 2x telephoto that went away and the image was full screen. I was more than happy with this arrangement. If I took the phone out of the hard shell case it was a little easier but I prefer the phone in the hard shell and it worked perfect imho I will point out whatever device you attach it to... you need a tripod mounted device. Hence why you should invest in a $5-6 Bluetooth Remote. That way you don't touch the camera using the lens. That's common sense.... anything that magnifies the image by huge amounts, 10x, 20x, 50x... the higher the magnification the more sensitive the image will be on screen to any type of touch of the camera. It is NOT the camera that is loose or wriggling, it's the lens device itself... Anyone who has used high powered lenses before knows what I mean. If you magnify the image, you magnify "shake". It's as simple as that I must admit, from having tried some cheap plastic devices which were all but useless and moved around every time I touched the phone and needed constant readjustment, with this device I tested using a 10x monocular and hand held it. I was stunned that the frame and mounting clamps hold the phone so rigid that I never had to adjust the 3-way screws once I had it aligned even if I hand held the monocular. Meaning I didn't need to hold/touch/support the phone in anyway. I feel my phone is heavy compared to previous models so I was pleased this device worked so well. As for the clamping device, this is not something you carry around in your pocket. It is heavy itself due to the solid metal construction (I could not find a single piece of plastic on the holder). It is also somewhat bulky. So if you want something plastic and lightweight that slips in your pocket that definitely won't have the features of this device nor work as well... then this is not the one for you. However if you want something solid and quality built that can help you get excellent quality pictures and videos (and I do recommend a bluetooth remote) then this is definitely worth the extra few dollars. I bought my unit myself, I didn't get compensated for my review. I have no connection with the seller nor manufacturer in any way. I'm just a regular customer who was disappointed with the cheaper devices but jealous of seeing other peoples posted images which I could not acquire with devices I used. I also love astronomy so in the next few days, I'll drag out my big telescope and use this on that too. I have zero doubt as to its ability to work flawless on anything else I clamp it to. Definitely recommend this if you want a quality holder and you are not concerned about it's weight and bulk.

OVERALL Rating: Upon purchase, I didn't realize the heft (strength, construction & materials used) of this device. Upon receipt, and feeling the quality of construction, I felt right off this would not disappoint. FEATURES: Ease of use: Very simple design with straight-forward observation and use of adjustment knobs. Combining aluminum and steel together to perfect a working mechanism, that operates flawlessly, is great. The "auger" mechanisms are finely threaded providing minute adjustments without the "jumping & skipping" as found on some devices. I have an iPhone XR with a case attached. This tridapter indicates it will hold up to 90 mm wide phone. I was skeptical about my phones case width but, the tridapter opens approximately 3mm wider than my phones/case, easily accepting that width. Quality of Material: I was about to purchase a less expensive device but I noticed it was made of "composite materials" and, having experienced these types of materials in the past and the ease of damage to them, I opted for this Tridapter constructed of aluminum for secure purposes. It is somewhat heavier than the composites, but, I prefer rigidity over less substantial materials that I feel wouldn't hold up over the long run. This Tridapter easily and without damage, fits over the 38mm eyepiece of my spotting scope without crushing the rubber eyepiece and allows for the minute adjustments while also allowing me to increase or decrease power settings without having to remove the tridapter but is not overburdenly heavy as to hinder scope operations and movements. Sturdiness: With an all-metal construction, steel and aluminum, this tridapter could not be any more sturdy. In my personal opinion, this device reminds me of the M-14 rifle I was issued in boot camp in 1971 -- very intricate piece of equipment and built like a Sherman tank. As stated, I see this tridapter going the distance for a very long time to come without fail. The only thing I can think of, is that over time and use, if a person utilizes this tridapter frequently, it likely will require a small drop of lubrication on the adjustment screws; this however, would only be expected and is in no way a default. I would HIGHLY recommend this item to anyone seeking a similar device for digiscoping. As my headline reads: this is a PERFECT complement for digiscoping.

Works great. Very stable. Very adjustable. The points at which it grabs my phone are far away from the buttons. Good design. I was questioning the the total weight on my microscope eye pieces. Doesn't seem to be a problem.

This is a high quality device, but it's slow to setup... too much knob twisting to get a quick photo when doing visual astronomy. I was looking for something where I could take a quick snapshot to text to friends when I see something inspiring through my Newtonian. This is not convenient for that spur of the moment snapshot. The materials of this adapter are much better than the alternatives by Celestron, but the Celestron is much easier to use. My issue with this device, and even with the Celestron, is that they're just not great at allowing you to quickly take a picture through your eye piece. It becomes too much effort to get your camera reasonably lined up. Some people suggest using a dedicated eyepiece that remains attach to the adapter, but then you're not really getting the exact image of what you were seeing anymore. Idk.. for me, this particular adapter was very high quality but required too much knob turning. Overall, this class of adapters aren't my cup of tea (this one, or the Celestron offerings at least). I'll leave my visual astronomy to visual observing and I'll limit my astrophotography to my dedicated astrograph setup.

I have an 8 inch Dobsonian telescope and have managed to get decent pictures using this triaptor to hold my phone near the 2" lens. You have to be very careful with this device as it easily moves on the lens. Focusing the phone takes a bit to set up. It is better than holding the phone by hand but not as much of an improvement as I was hoping for.

This is a great product and very well made. Worth every penny, easy to use, holds your phone and whatever viewing device you're using firmly so you don't wind up dropping or breaking anything. After playing around with cheap plastic setups for several years I decided to step up and try something better. I've dropped my phone a few times and also had My phone slide out of alignment while taking photos which is very aggravating. Even using a Bluetooth shutter button I still had problems. This device locks in place and stays where you put it. Easy to set up and fine-tune the alignment of the phone with the viewing device. Machine quality components that are accurate and very easy to use. Now that I know I can take better quality photos and it's easier to set up I will be looking into purchasing a telescope. I've currently been using a monocular which takes pretty decent shots but now I'm hooked and I want to get better quality and closer photos of the moon and celestial objects. Don't settle for something cheap, spend a few extra bucks, you won't regret it! I am super happy with this product and it will serve me for many many years! My phone is Samsung a35. I have a silicone case on it and even with that I had room to spare in the clamp that holds the phone.

I bought the Tridaptor hoping for a reliable digiscoping solution, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The price point is absurdly high when you compare it to similar adapters that perform the same basic function. Even on Amazon, countless reviewers point out that cheaper alternatives give identical results. The build quality feels flimsy, not the premium feel the cost would suggest. Setting it up is a nightmare; you have to constantly adjust and realign the phone for every shot. The alignment process is not only time‑consuming but also makes you miss the moment you wanted to capture. The instructions are vague, leaving you guessing how tightly to tighten each screw. After a few uses, the clamps start to slip, forcing you to readjust yet again. The adapter’s claimed “universal” fit is misleading—my phone’s case interfered with the mounting. Overall, this product feels like a cash‑grab that sacrifices usability for a hefty markup. I cannot recommend the Tridaptor; spend your money on a cheaper, more dependable adapter instead.

I received the adaptor, but the Z-axis and Y-axis (knob attachments) were bent out of shape, see photographs, and both knobs are catching the phone holder, so the adapter is not usable without the risk of breaking off the top end of the axes. I cannot confirm if this a production fault or shipping issue, either way, it limits the functionality of the adapter unfortunately.

Good product I recommend it. The best are easy to fine tune to your eyepiece and lead to satisfying results, only the achichive agent on protective rubber pads should be more solid, it keep slipping off it's position.
