Ice Slicer High Performance Snow Ice Melt, 160 OZ

Works on contact

Such a relief to know that in using this I'm not harming wildlife, the environment, or other animals or pets. It works great, and one application during a particularly nasty ice storm seemed to outperform the synthetic, chemical-laden ice melt products out there. I love that this is safe for pets, and it also means less weird chemicals being tracked into the home - which is particularly of concern if you have young children, babies, or pets. (Not to mention annoying because the dust particles could potentially impact your sourdough starter on the counter or any food, water, or drinks exposed to the air.)

Let me begin with the positive. This is great salt for those with pets. My dog's paws were very sensitive to all the other brands I've previously purchased. This does not give him that same sensitivity. So for his sake - this salt is amazing. I would say it melts at the same speed and temperature as the others. And little does go a long way which is great because this is not cheap salt. Time will tell if this stains or impacts my concrete after a full season of use. But so far, after about 3 weeks of daily use it seems ok. Here is my biggest complaint and why I took one star away. The bucket lid was impossible to remove. I broke the tab as instructed but the lid would not come off. After about 15 minutes of trying to rip, pry, tug, etc. and a few choice curse words I gave up. I cut a hole in the top and transferred it to a different bucket with a lid that I had. Maybe I got a defective one though. Of course it definitely makes the bucket puppy proof as well; just unfortunately human proof too 🙄.

Gets the job done! After a bad snow storm & shoveling I had a stubborn patch of ice in front my garage. After throwing down this salt it cleared up the ice well. It also worked well on small patches of snow. This was not as expensive as some other brands but works excellently. Also it stayed in place after being driven over, so very durable. An excellent product.

This arrived same day and worked really well. We’ve tried others and this one has been the best thus far! It immediately started melting the snow and within a few mins our driveway was clear.

This product does do what it’s supposed to do which Is why It got the 3 stars but if you have a light colored driveway/steps/sidewalk BEWARE it looks like someone threw mud all over and I’m just praying it has not stained my driveway. We have a sealed concrete driveway FYI and I included some pictures. It just looks really awful especially right next to the beautiful snow. So we were pretty bummed about this. I was trying to do the right thing by getting something environmentally friendly. At least it works and we don’t have icey stairs of course safety is most important. But we’re going to buy something else for the rest of the winter season for sure.

Second time purchasing this rock salt. It works well keeping water from freezing over while being Let and environment friendly

Used this for the first time recently, I was cery pleased with how well it worked. A few days later we got a little snow, which melted on the walk stairs and porch I treated. Bonus.

Works well

Melts ice quickly and safe for my dog. A little expensive for a small bag. Won’t purchase again

Product works, but I find it very expensive for the quantity.

I like it, used it for the front stairs and walkway, works great and pet friendly 😊🐾
