Decent microwave with good power and doesn't take up much room.
So far so good. The power output is decent, it appears to heat evenly, and it fits well on my countertop while still be large enough inside for a large dinner plate or bowl. I don't think it's any louder than my last microwave, but it does have more of a buzz to it than a hum, which makes it seem louder. It'll take a little getting used to. That said, I have no real complaints. It works well and is easy to use.

Found a Great Microwave!
Our Farberware microwave conked out had gotten from Kohl's 8 years ago. It lasted a good long time. It was malfunctioning, it started spinning without even pushing a button. We did not want to go without a microwave too long, its such an inconvenience. Looked under reviews on Amazon and I tell you what those reviews really helped me out. I decided on Toshiba, and it has been terrific! Almost have had it a week. It's got stuff on there that I have to read up on. It's works great, sounds great. When you leave seconds on there after reheating something. It'll clear out on its own minutes later, which is very cool. The sound is fine, the turntable, the size, its all great! I believe most are having those childproof lock situation things and this is fine. What we have to do is make sure to press and lift up on the handle & it opens. Nothing complicated at all. I would definitely refer everyone to this microwave!

Decent unit. Good buy.
This unit was larger than expected, which is good for me. Nice amount of room inside. Decent controls and seems to be made of quality material. I would recommend this product for anyone. It has a feature that I do not like, which entails that the unit has to be paused or the cooking canceled before you can open the door. But they have a setting in it programming that you can actually defeat that default feature. And it actually works for me. Yayy

Full featured microwave
Have had it now for three months. Works great, perfect size. Has all the features of a under cabinet unit and sufficient power for everyday operations. There are many more complex operations with program instructions in the manual that I don’t think I will ever use. If you don’t use these often, you will need the manual for step by step instructions. Operation is quiet. Only thing I dislike is the confusing placement of the very small power level and custom cook time cycle buttons directly above the start and stop buttons. Since they are used often, these buttons should have been prominently displayed at top of keypad rather than almost hidden at bottom of keypad. They don’t even look like separate buttons. Poor location design but, overall, this is a great microwave priced reasonably.

Great Microwave!
Great microwave!!!! Perfect size, cooks fast. The child lock is a simple button on the inside top of the handle- no pushing an extra digital panel button… quieter than most Love it!!!!

No more noise!
I love it. We just moved and needed a new microwave. The microwave at the old house was built in but very noisy and it went off over and over again if you didn't open the door right away. It wasnt great for my anxiety. I sought this one out because you can mute all sounds. The silence is beautiful and the microwave works great.

Small but Powerful Microwave
This little microwave might be small, but it packs a punch. It heats most dishes up in a minute or less and evenly heats food as it cooks. It's easy to clean, has a removeable glass turntable and its size fits perfectly on my small counter. I like the locking door feature as well. The hidden button in the top of the handle is easy to press as you open the door but will not come open if a child pulls on the bottom of the handle. Excellent purchase I'd be willing to make again if needed.

Offers fantastic performance, stylish design, and great value for the price.
I couldn’t be happier with my TOSHIBA EM131A5C-BS Countertop Microwave Oven! After a year of daily use, it has completely exceeded my expectations. First, the 1.2 cu ft capacity is perfect for a family kitchen. It easily fits a full-size dinner plate and even a medium casserole dish without any issues. The 12.4" removable turntable ensures everything heats evenly — no more cold spots in the middle of my leftovers! The 1100 watts of power really make a difference. Food heats quickly and consistently, whether I’m reheating coffee, defrosting chicken, or making popcorn. The pre-programmed sensor menu works surprisingly well — especially for popcorn and pizza. It automatically adjusts the time so I don’t have to guess. I also love the sleek black stainless steel finish. It looks modern and blends beautifully with my other appliances. The large digital display is easy to read, and the control panel is intuitive and user-friendly. The mute function is a small but amazing feature — no more loud beeping late at night! Cleaning is simple thanks to the easy-to-wipe interior. Overall, this microwave offers fantastic performance, stylish design, and great value for the price. If you’re looking for a reliable, powerful, and attractive countertop microwave, I highly recommend this one. Five stars!

Fantastic, and NO BEEPING SOUNDS
I was going through my past orders and didn't realize I hadn't reviewed this yet, which is crazy because I feel like evangelizing about it, I love it that much. I've had this oven for 3 years now, and I couldn't possibly be happier with it. It functions well, it's really easy to use and clean, and best of all NO BEEPING. The silent operation of this oven is its best feature and the primary reason I ordered it. I know most people are probably happy to operate it with the beeping sounds, but if having the option to silence all beeping sounds is as essential to you as it was to me then this is your oven. Once in awhile when the power goes out I'll have to reset the silent mode when I reset the clock, but other than that I never hear any beeping from it whatsoever. Not when the buttons are pressed, not when the cooking cycle is done. I've seen some reviews saying it's loud when cooking, but it's no louder than any other microwave - I don't know what these people are talking about. All microwaves make some noise when cooking.

As good as it gets
We searched endlessly for a new microwave for our new home and happened to come across a Wirecutter article (do a web search for it) where they took some of the most popular microwaves and put them through a ton of tests. The Toshiba models were at the top of the list for even cooking (use potatoes for testing), best popcorn performance with the least amount of kernels left at the end, good defrost performance, intuitive easy to use controls and their one year warranty you supposedly don't send the unit back, rather you provide them with a receipt and they issue you a refund cheque which is much appreciated. So far we love the unit as it's easy for our kids to use as it has that basic 1980's style control layout not one of these new ones that tries to be some science fiction 2120 food preparation units. Popcorn bags come out perfect and reheating food is nice and even. First Toshiba microwave I've ever owned and I don't know I'll ever go back to Panasonic after this. Update April 2024: The unit has now died. It did a bag of microwave popcorn, then another family went to use it and the interior light was going on and off like it was shorting out and the screen was doing the same. Unplugged, plugged back in but same issue. At this point it's faulty and no idea where to begin to try and repair it so off to electronic recycling it goes. Managed to get 4.5 years out of it but not super impressed.

Great microwave!
This microwave has served us well! It heated our food relatively evenly and quickly than our previous microwaves we've owned. But after 5 years, 9 months, and 10 days, it started running by itself when the door is closed without starting it and it won't stop until you open the door. Unplugging it seemed to fix the issue. However, after just a week, it stopped heating food completely at any power setting. After reading about using a microwave at full power all the time for the size of our family, it would only last 4-5 years instead of the expected 10 years. In this case, I guess it has reached the end of it's life. As far as design goes, I wish the plug was flat and angled so that it isn't sticking out of the wall and cable management would be neater. It's a little bit hard to clean the corners because the inside isn't seamless and food sometimes can get stuck in between the seams. Gently getting those out with a brush seems to work for us. Getting the glass tray back on top of the ring with wheels is a guessing game turning it just right until it falls into place on the small spinning mechanism in the middle. The new microwave we got (also a Toshiba) seems to have fixed this issue with a built in spinning platform which removes the guess work to some degree. Overall, this microwave worked really well for us, until it didn't. But such is expected I guess for the way we used it.
