My wife is autistic with PCOS. She needs protein and her breakfast (this protein shake) to be the same every single day. The texture was fine, it was simple and yummy, so it's been our go-to for years. This morning I opened the "same" powder in the new packaging for her. She took one sip and asked me what I did wrong or what changed. The new taste is horrible, chemical-y, nothing like the familiar and delicious flavor it had previously. Undrinkable. The formulation has changed and not at all for the better—cheaper ingredients, different blends. So now we're on the hunt for a different brand of protein powder. For the second time in 5 years.

This VEGA pea protein powder has been a great addition to my workout routine, both before and after. If you understand your body's needs and workout goals, this, or likely any whey, can be beneficial. For me, the function and price of this particular powder were the deciding factors, especially since it's affordable with EBT SNAP benefits. I appreciate that the ingredients are verifiably good and standardized. It mixes easily with water – I find this yields the best results as protein powder doesn't seem to dissolve well or healthily in milk. The smell and taste are both really tasty, and it's acceptably filling. The sugar content isn't overwhelming either.

Formula has changed. Flavor is not the same. I’ve been buying this brand and flavor for about 5 years and this order the flavor is different and not good. So far no response from my attempts to contact the company for a replacement or refund. It was a great product until now.

TIP: Extend the short scoop handle with a chop stick secured with a rubber band... helps you get to the bottom. REVIEW: No whey, no rice... Yeah! No sugar...Yeah! Great for diabetic 1 or 2. Great with coconut milk, and almond milk. Have used this brand for over 5 year...Mocha flavor. It actually tasted like Mocha in the previous smaller size, which was discontinued. Ok...we got used to the Mocha-caramel-like flavor in the Sport version. But wait.. that changed too in the last couple of months. We can only tolerate the new taste by adding a 1/4 t. of organic cocoa powder (Navitas). I decided to read the reviews about the chocolate flavor to consider switching. I always start with the 1 and 2 stars. The chocolate flavor has changed too...and concerns about unhealthy levels of metals in the product. Then I read the 1 and 2 stars about Mocha...and many people complaining about flavor change. Is it a sign of 'inflation' times, product changes to reduce costs? Price no better. The metals complaint concerns me the most and I will research more to see if I find any articles on the topic. Over all...like my title... long time loyal fan is waning...
