There’s no app required, which makes daily use easier. The mug is also easy to clean, as long as it’s kept out of the dishwasher, per the manufacturer’s instructions. Limitations: The mug is able to maintain temperature while off of the charging coaster, but only for about 2-4 hours depending on the temperature setting you'll be keeping it on, so it’s best suited for desk or countertop use rather than travel. It also requires a bit of care when cleaning due to the built-in electronics suck as making sure it's dry before placing it on the charger. Overall experience: In regular use, the Nextmug has been reliable and does what it’s designed to do—keeping drinks at a comfortable temperature for longer than a standard mug. *Update* - I've had this mug now officially 2 years. It was starting to lose some battery life and I had a few issues with it. I contacted Nextmug to get some advice and assistance and after answering a few questions they are sending me a replacement mug. Their customer service is stellar. After 15 month the mug would no longer keep heating and Nextmug offered to send replacement even outside warranty.

Received product. Did not know needed Uk adapter for plug-should be in description. Otherwise would give 5 stars. However mug is fantastic. I set it on ‘hot’- lasts hours with cover on. Love this product.
