Received today, easy set up - everything worked including CD, Bluetooth, radio scanning etc. Pleasant sound with plenty of bass, easily fills a small room. Aerial totally ok. Picks up more stations if close to an open door. Has 30 easily programmable presets that you scroll through to select.

After having a Bose system which after a while refused to play my latest CDs, to my disgust. I decided to buy the Panasonic, at a more sensible price and I can say I am delighted with its performance. It is easy to use, and sound is excellent, if not brilliant and I am thrilled.

Its ok. Dab is not the best at getting stations. Sound is good, not overly loud and the Bluetooth works fine. Very presentable, but let down by the PSU cable not being long enough and having very thin wires like a cheap old phone. That lets it down.

Tired of cheapo made in China and impossibly complicated to tune units, I returned to this Panasonic (also Chinese made I note) machine; it looks good and sounds great. Tuning is not too complicated and radio reception good although I did buy a telescopic aerial rather than having a wire dangling for the cats.

Bought this recently. Arrived well packaged and promptly. When I saw it was 30% off, I was carefull to check other reviews carefully. I am very pleased with this Item. Decent sound quality and straight forward instructions. This is not high end but being Panasonic is well made and I cannot fault it. I was a bit concerned by one review that claimed the CD drawer was flimsy and the owner had lost the cd after inserting it. The drawer is pretty solid and I have had not had an issue with it. It will also play genuine CD's without saying it doese not recognise the CD and won't play it, like my old Roberst item did.

I am thrilled with my purchase, Its not yet disappointed. Great to look at, compact and gas great sound to it very clear, no crackling! DAB channels all there, keeps signal even in my house, auto tuned. CD player easy to use.

I bought this Panasonic as I trusted the make and the ratings I played a perfectly good CD in it really enjoyed the sound. Press the button for it to come out and the CD tray was empty. I have had to return the machine as it swallowed my CD it is in the machine somewhere. I think it is because the plastic tray that holds a CD is flimsy and has nothing in the middle to anchor a CD down therefore I suppose it must’ve just slipped off. I shall not be replacing it with the same make or model

My Panasonic mini system (SA-PM4DB) had given some 25 years of excellent service but its aged showed when the CD player skipped or missed entire tracks. The FM/DAB (not DAB+) still works well but some favourite DAB stations had migrated to DAB+. Time then to find a new mini hi-fi. As an owner also of reliable Panasonic bridge and compact cameras I was happy to stay with Panasonic. This model meets my needs. I agree with other reviewers that adding presets on FM and DAB is a fiddly job and the instructions are weak in this area. In the end I got there. A strong radio signal is essential so I bought the free standing Bingfu telescopic aerial instead of using the included ‘string’ aerial. Update on the choice of aerial: the Bingfu telescopic aerial doesn’t pull in a strong radio signal where the hi-fi is located. I tested the Panasonic aerial again and found that it is satisfactory when pinned horizonally to the wall. The instructions are unclear on presets then I realised that the PGM button on the remote toggles between the current list and storing a station. It eventually dawned on me that the Play/Pause button stores a chosen station. After a frustrating half hour of trial and much error it all sank in! I’m pleased with the sound and the choice of tones which are selected with the “ EQ” rocker switch. The CD drawer is flimsy so needs to be loaded and unloaded with care not putting weight on it. Despite the shortcomings of the instructions it is a good product. I can play vinyl from my Ion turntable by Bluetooth which is very pleasing. The lack of Internet function probably keeps the price down. An unnecessary feature for me with other devices to access the Internet for radio.

Das alte Radio im Wohn-/Essbereich hat bei uns nach 25 Jahren den Geist aufgegeben. Zunächst war die Idee, die Soundbar des TV aufzurüsten und den mittlerweile im Wohnzimmer fehlenden CD Player hinzuzufügen. Das haben wir sehr schnell aus Handling- und Kostengründen aufgegeben und anhand des avisierten Standortes auf das Prinzip einer monolithischen Stereo-Kompaktanlage (gedanklich war ich gleich wieder in den 80ern) zurückgegriffen. Wie sich nach kurzer Recherche herausstellte, ist das Angebot tatsächlich relativ üppig, wobei es sich meistens um Handelsware chinesischer Herkunft handelt, die unter verschiedenen Vertriebsnamen auftauche. Bei den traditionellen Herstellern bin ich nicht fündig geworden, Panasonic war die Ausnahme. Da ich erstens gute Erfahrungen mit Produkten aus deren Haus gemacht habe, und zweitens im Netz durchweg gute Rezensionen speziell zur Klangqualität gefunden habe, hab ich für ca. 150 EUR das gute Gefühl gehabt, dabei richtig zu sein... DESIGN Der Panasonic ist in einem monolithischen Sperrholzgehäuse (vermutlich Birke) mit abgerundeten Kanten untergebracht. Die zwei kleine Lautsprecher arbeiten nach dem Bassreflex-Prinzip, daher befinden sich auf der Rückseite außer eines Antennen- und eines Netzgeräte-Anschluss keine weiteren Ports. Die Front weist rechts und links hinter filigranen Metallgittern die zwei kleinen Lautsprecher auf, die den Stereo-Sound garantieren sollen. Das Bedienfeld in der Mitte beherbergt wenige Direktsteuertasten (Skip/Pause/Play etc.), ein Multicolor-Mini-Display, Ports für USB und Stereo-Mini-Klinke, sowie einen großen Multifunktionspoti, der neben der Lautstärkesteuerung auch noch andere Funktionen wahrnehmen kann. Das Gerät ist erstklassig verarbeitet und bietet mit der Mischung aus Holz, Metall und Pianolack-Optik einen sehr edlen Anblick, wobei der große Steuerregler haptisch dagegen ein bisschen abfällt. Aber das bin vielleicht auch nur ich ;-) SOUND Wichtiger als alles andere ist aber für mich der Sound, und da war die Erwartung an die geradezu winzige Kiste eigentlich eher klein. Der erste Einsatz mit DAB+ Sender war dann aber doch beeindruckend, die 80er Jahre Pophymnen wurden druckvoll und transparent ausgegeben, wobei der Zwerg selbst bei beachtlicher Lautstärke ohne Scheppern auskommt. Natürlich sind dem Ganzen bei der Raumgröße Grenzen gesetzt, aber das kommt in unseren kleinen Räumen nicht zum tragen. Blutooth Wiedergabe ist ähnlich gut, meine Begeisterung steigt... Der kleine, ultradünne CD-Schlitten macht beim Herausfahren einen sehr labberigen Eindruck, da muss man vorsichtig sein, keine unüberlegten Kurzschlussbelastungen auszuüben... also immer schön beid er Sache bleiben. Großartig ist allerdings, dass auf eine CD-Single-Mulde nicht verzichtet wurde... ich habe noch ein paar davon von damals :-) Die Referenz-CD ist seit 1985 "Brothers in Arms" von Dire Straits, die schon manche klangliche Schwäche, aber auch viele Stärken bei sehr unterschiedlichen Geräten aufgezeigt hat. Beim Anspielen tritt zunächst sowas wie Ernüchterung ein, denn gegenüber dem DAB Erlebnis wirkt der Sound plötzlich irgendwie flach und undynamisch, was sich tatsächlich die sehr unterschiedlichen Titel auf der CD zieht.... was war da los? Ich mache mich auf die Suche nach einer Klangregelung. Das Gerät hat keinen parametrischen EQ in irgendeiner Form, nach kurzer Suche finde ich aber die seit den 90ern bekannten EQ-Presets, die ja irgendwie immer gleich nach Musikstilen benannt sind (was schon vor 30 Jahren Blödsinn war...). Der Default ist eine Einstellung namens FLAT, was soviel wie "alle EQ-Regler auf Null" bedeutet. Das das für volldigitale Quellen wie DAB funktioniert, ist mir genauso so klar, wie dass es für Tonträger wie CD nicht funktioniert (sagen meine bescheidenen Audio-Kenntnisse). Kurz durchgesteppt finde ich alle Presets doof, bis auf CLASSIC. Hier hat man sich offenbar sehr viel Mühe gegeben, denn plötzlich erklingt aus den Lautsprechern genau der differenzierte Klang, der einzelne Instrumente hörbar macht und das Klangbild plötzlich sehr transparent und luftig erklingen lässt... dringende Empfehlung als Grundeinstellung für jegliche Musik von CD! FAZIT Am Ende bin doch sehr zufrieden und glücklich mit dem Gerät, denn die mir wichtigen Faktoren wie Klang und Verarbeitung kann man wirklich als sehr gut bezeichnen. Wer den Klang eines echten HiFi-Stereo-Setups erwarte, sollte hier die Finger davon lassen, das geht ja schon physikalisch gar nicht. Doch wer bei kleiner Raumgröße oder im Nahbereich eine gut klingende Lösung sucht, wird hier sehr zufrieden sein. Ein paar kleiner Abstriche muss man bei der sehr trägen Fernbedienung (wurde schon oft in Rezensionen angemerkt) und bei dem kleine Display mit der teilweise extrem kleinen Schrift machen, Punkte, die für mich eher eine untergeordnete Rolle spielen. Und die etwas informationsarme Bedienungsanleitung ist jetzt nicht der Brüller, aber das gibt es ja eh heute kaum noch in umfangreich. Gutes Gerät.... klare Empfehlung von mir :-)

Great Stereo System, good sound & freak price

Cette microchaîne Panasonic est vraiment top côté son : les 24W envoient du lourd, le rendu est clair et puissant pour une si petite taille. Elle lit les CD, capte la radio DAB+/FM, accepte l’USB et le Bluetooth. L’écran LCD couleur rend l’interface agréable à utiliser. Petit bémol : la télécommande n’est pas très pratique pour changer les stations radio, c’est un peu lent et pas très intuitif. Malgré ça, ça reste un excellent appareil polyvalent pour écouter sa musique au quotidien.
