Product is great, the limited visibility on the passenger side is literally zero. An adapter is definitely something I would recommend. As I reviewing the product and how it was installed so I was aware of the limited visibility before I purchased this item for my Jeep. The convenience of not having to worry about them when taking the doors off and on and having to reattach mirrors and take them off is a major plus. I had a hard time removing the mirror from the factory mount so when you install I would suggest removing while still attached to the door. Had to take a flat head screw driver and put it in the hole the screw came out and hit it with a hammer to dislodge the mirror from the housing.

This is an awesome solution for going doorless, or using tube doors. I've read some complaints about this relocation kit, but most of them have to do with removing the original factory mirrors from the windshield mount of the factory doors (i.e. the mirror getting stuck). There are also a few complaints about the brackets finish. First of all the black finish is fine, and looks good with the white paint of my Rubicon. And, I went a different route with the mirrors altogether. I left the original mirrors on the factory doors in storage. I picked-up a complete 4-door set of Rancho Tube Doors, and ordered a separate set of Bestop 51260-01 HighRock 4X4 Black Replacement Mirrors (almost identical to the factory mirrors) for about $54.00. Thats worth (for me, anyway) the time and effort I saved to otherwise dismantle the factory mirrors and doors. The relocation brackets are simple and quick to mount on the Jeep windshield (clever). The mirrors popped out of the mounts with a twist of an allen wrench, and slid easily into the replacement brackets. The bottom screw on the brackets is a bit awkward to get to, but it all pulls together nicely, and the entire unit is very solid. It took me about three minutes to manually adjust the mirrors and I'm all-set. The entire effort took me maybe twenty minutes. It will be ten minutes next time. NOTE: I ordered the tube doors, replacement mirrors, and relocation kit all from Amazon. They have the best prices for all of the items. Combined with Amazon Prime the research, selection, and shipping were all quick and efficient. This has been a terrific experience with a very handsome result.

I was excited to get these brackets so we wouldn’t have to keep moving the mirrors when we take off our Jeep doors. Unfortunately the passenger bracket does not allow you to adjust your mirror and creates a HUGE blind spot. The picture doesn’t even do it justice, but for reference the image in the mirror is the sidewalk. You can’t even see any part of the side of the Jeep. It should be extendable but it’s not. We ended up having to order another set of brackets from another company just to get the passenger “extension” bracket. Makes no sense to have a bracket that doesn’t extend on the passenger side when you move the mirror forward on the Jeep and loose sight. I don’t know if this is an older model, but it says it fits our Jeep year and model. Maybe that’s why it was so cheap. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to get the correct brackets so you can actually see! Driving with this Rugged Ridge bracket was a nightmare!

I recently purchased the brackets against the general advice on most of the Jeep forums to relocate my mirrors. The Brackets came in decent shape, but had a couple of places where the metal paint had been nicked off around the edges. About the most difficult part about the installation was removing the mirror post from the original factory bracket, and this is the biggest complaint you'll hear about relocation of the factory mirrors. Rather than tug and pull at the mirror to loosen it, I inserted a flathead screwdriver into the threading after removing the bolt underneath; the screwdriver was thin enough to ensure I didn't damage the threading. Then I tapped the screwdriver lightly with a tack hammer and the mirror popped right out. After that, installation was simple. The only other complaints I can think of involve tightening the lower bolts after installing the new brackets (they are difficult to get to) and the fact it is difficult to see out of the passenger side mirror while the doors are on. At 6' 4" I can lean over to see out of it, but I'd imagine that others would have more difficulty. I'm actually on the way to Wally-World to get a small mirror to put on the edge of the passenger side mirror; I've heard it helps visibility greatly.

Bracket works perfectly. Mirrors were difficult to remove from door, and it was a snug fit into the new bracket. Well worth the work though. The mirrors are awesome, no vibration at all.

Kind of useless with doors in place. Left side mounts well and is easily viewed. Right side mirror is pretty much useless when doors are on. I'm 6'2" and the mirror is almost completely blocked by the door casing even with the drivers seat all the way back. Also, this kit comes with the door blanks, so no need to buy the "mirror relocation filler plates" separately as I did.
