What’s the difference between this and the skin plumping gel cream?

The plumping gel is more like a serum to put after washing, the overnight treatment is for night time on top of the plumping gel. I have both and absolutely love them both.

Is this a sleeping mask or just a moisturizer used at night?

It’s a moisturizer to be used at night. It softens and hydrates my skin perfectly. I LOVE this stuff!

Is this Tested on animals?

Found this on-line: Hada Labo is not cruelty free because their products are tested on animals where required by law (in mainland China). Additionally, Hada Labo is not 100% vegan as a brand because some of their products contain animal-derived ingredients or animal by-products. May 16, 2021 Hope it helps
