Amazon Echo Buds (newest model) are true wireless earbuds featuring advanced 12mm drivers for crisp sound, Bluetooth 5.2 multipoint connectivity for seamless device switching, and up to 20 hours of battery life with fast charging. Their semi-in-ear design offers comfort and situational awareness, while sweat resistance and customizable Alexa-powered controls make them ideal for busy professionals on the move.

Fabulous fit and sound - compared to much higher priced buds!
Fantastic sound and fit! I got these during the special Prime sale for $15. I thought for $15 I’d try them…not really needing them or so I thought. I listen in bed a lot with a pair of bone conduction earphones. It does the trick for simple listening to reviews of items and stuff like that but the sound quality is meh. So here are my first impressions. Packaging - this comes in a small box that keeps the earbuds secure and is very easy to open. Once opened you are greeted by very simple instructions that guide you to your Alexa app. Setup - once in the app, it recognizes the earbuds instantly and asks if you want to set them up. I pressed yes and was set up in no time. App - it says that you need an app so I pressed to get that. I was taken to the App Store where I didn’t see an echo buds app but instead the Alexa app that I already had. So I’m not sure if it simply updated the app or what. But it did everything quickly and I was onto the next step. The app is simple to use and lets you adjust the bass, mids and treble - which I instantly used to set it to my preference. I do not like not having an eq for headphones so this was a pleasant surprise. I do wish there were a way to save custom presets so I could quickly change the settings for let’s say pop to classical music. Use - I quickly downloaded Sirius XM and was off to listening to favorite stations in no time ranging from Christian worship to The Beach Boys to Rachmaninoff. The sound was crystal clear and very pleasing. I’m an audio engineering professor and will actually incorporate these into my mixing repertoire as I have the ability to use Bluetooth headphones directly with Pro Tools. These will be perfect to check final mixes on what consumers listen to most now - ear buds. I will toggle between the professional headphones I use and these - which I think will inform my mixing decisions more. Fit - they just fit…this is the first pair of earbuds that I didn’t have to do any Messi by s around with/ just put them on and enjoy…no falling out and they are very comfortable. After wearing them for a few minutes you forget they are on. They can be worn for a long time because of how comfortable they are. Build quality - in addition to seeing professional packaging, it was great to see when I opened it how beautiful the case was. It is sleek and comfortable to hold. Opening the case you are greeted with two stylish earbuds - mine were the black variety. The actual earbuds are very nice looking with a shiny understated black and nice clear silicon that is the many part which grabs the ear Recommendation - I highly recommend these for someone wanting a quality pair of earbuds buds in a decent price range. Even at the full $50 price they are wonderful. I would suspect they compete with earbuds that are more in the $100 range. I will likely compare them to my wife’s AirPods to check differences. I’ve had other EarPods in this price range and I can say these are definitely worlds above. I haven’t even gotten into the phone calling abilities…that next for me to try. But I suspect they will be great for that. They get wonderful reviews from major publishers like PC world. God bless and enjoy your new immersive earbuds!

Buena calidad y llegada rápida.
After 5 months of using the Amazon Echo Buds, I can say that, overall, they’re a great option if you’re looking for wireless earbuds with good value for money. In fact, if you find an offer (I took advantage of a 2-for-1 deal), it’s a great bargain! I’ve used them for everything: listening to music, making calls, and of course, taking full advantage of Alexa. Here are my thoughts on how they’ve been performing. Price: The first thing that caught my attention was the price. Compared to other, more expensive models, these are much more affordable and still offer many similar features. Not to mention that I mainly bought them for the Alexa assistant, but the sound is great for the price. Sound Quality: The sound quality is surprisingly good for the price. Don’t expect super powerful bass like premium models, but the sound is very well balanced. The highs are clear, the mids are fine, and the lows are decent for almost any kind of music. For listening to music or podcasts, they do the job very well. I’m not sure if it’s my PC, but when I move away a little, they disconnect, and I think it’s because of the PC. When using them with my phone, I can be much farther away without that happening. Compatibility: I’m new to Bluetooth devices, but I found it easy to connect them. The best part is that I can have them connected to two devices at the same time, and I really love that! Comfort: Honestly, I’ll share both my opinion and my partner’s since I took advantage of the 2-for-1 offer. She says the earbuds are very comfortable, and she hardly feels like she’s wearing them. Since she goes to the gym, she says she can exercise without worrying about them falling out. Now, my opinion: I find them a bit uncomfortable because the earbud has an option to make it tighter, so I changed the tips. I only noticed a slight difference, and sometimes they bother me, but other times they don’t. It could be that I’m just not putting them on properly sometimes.

Amazon Ear Buds: How does it hold up?
Just received this product recently. Let me break it down. Packaging -Excellent use of economical packaging. *Warning* Make sure to open everything up. You can easily miss something that's tucked away. Earbud Case -This is a bit flimsy. The lid/hood is too thin. It is very sleek. -Be very careful not to drop this case it will break easily. Earbuds -Interesting fit for those not used to wearing this style of ear pieces. -The earbuds rests well on the ear. -Light weight -Quick charge with case -Great battery life Sound -is delivered clearly -highs are good, vocals are clear, mids are decent, bass non-existent (not surprised) Full review: This earbud is great for basic light activities such as working out at a gym, hiking, jogging, golfing. Super comfortable to wear. Feels like you are not wearing anything. These buds don't stay on well if you were doing pushups, or yoga, or any exercise that requires explosive movement. They easily pop out. The Case is too flimsy. One drop and it is going to break. The sound is perfect for podcasts and just listening to music in the background. In comparison to the earlier version of the earbud, those were much better and created a better seal that delivered a better sound quality. The sound quality for this unit sounds hallow. The fit is a bit loose for my preference. **I haven't tried making or taking calls from this earbud. I'm unable to report the voice quality. Key note: these are not fully in ear and that is the design and purpose of it. The older unit earbuds were in ear, and you can feel the weight of it after long use. Easy to charge each earbud. It truly is a drop in without the guessing. Final thought. This item has it's place in the wireless earbud market. It's well worth the purchase at the price point being offered. It would be best to say these are a good option for those on a budget that wasn't something, light, with a long battery life and with decent sound. This would be for you.

Don't say I didn't warn you
I won't comment on the sound quality, which is fine. Or the battery life, which is just ok. I'm writing this review strictly based on the usability of these ear buds and the decisions the amazon team has made, which make these a real struggle to use in everyday life. To be clear, these ear buds are absolutely horrible. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone for anything. I've had a good number of bluetooth earbuds since they first arrived on the scene. I've had genuine Apple, Jabra and a few others. Some costing a few hundred dollars. Surprisingly, two of my most enduring sets are the absolute cheapest lesser known brands like a pair of JL Labs I think I paid $25 for and a pair of "E18" from some China brand. I think I paid $20 for those. So where do these Amazon ear buds fall short? Let's start with the fit. The fit is so poor, it makes me wonder how this was the final design to be greenlit by the product management. Both of my cheap buds stay in the ears better than these. These Amazon buds are constantly falling out, constantly needing to be repositioned in the ear. The little earbud condoms that are included do actually help to give the earbuds some more "grip", but they seem to quickly and easily find their way off of the earbuds to be lost forever. Luckily they do ship with a few condoms but that doesn't compensate for the poor design. Next, let's talk about the REQUIREMENT to use an app to pair them or to change the settings on earbuds. To the designers of this major fail, let me impress upon you the correct way that earbud pairing should work: 1.) Turn on the earbuds (put them into pairing mode if they're not smart enough to figure they're not paired) 2.) Go into your phone settings 3.) Go to bluetooth 4.) Find the earbuds 5.) Pair them That's it. There shouldn't be any requirements beyond the above. That consulting advice was free but I'll accept a consulting fee or even better, a full refund. Finally let's focus on the tap controls and the fact that they absolutely refuse to be disabled. One of side-effects of the poor fit is that the earbuds are constantly needing to be repositioned in the ear. Doing this with tap controls enabled becomes a real balancing act. This means that half the time you try and reposition the earbuds, you're likely to trigger the tap controls. Which leads me to my next gripe ... The Alexa app does give you the capability to disable the tap controls. Unfortunately these settings do absolutely nothing to actually disable the tap controls. It's nice that someone thought to include the tap controls but they should have gone the extra mile to ensure the disable settings actually work. A side effect of not being able to disable the tap controls is that the tap control REALLY want to control Apple Music. If you're listening to something other than Apple Music, you won't be for long if you mistakenly activate the tap controls. Any use of the tap controls causes Apple Music to wake up and take over playback from whatever's playing. Suuuper annoying. There's much more to dislike about these earbuds, but I'd like this to read like a review and now a book, so I'll just leave it at my top 3 reasons to stay away from these earbuds. To recap: * Poor fit * Alexa App Required * Tap controls refuse to disable * Tap (or slight rub) will activate Apple Music, no matter what you were listening to If you still buy these earbuds after reading this review, don't say I didn't warn you.

A Month Review
(This ‘test’ was conducted for iOS, so it may or may not be the same for Android users) A cheaper alternative to the infamous Airpods. There is so much to like and dislike about this one in particular. The style itself is pretty neat itself just like a tiny box, problem with it is that it opens too easily. The magnetic feature is always gonna have this and in the future someone may design a case with a lock but standard case is something to be kinda careful about it being randomly opened and maybe losing an earbud. The earbuds themselves are okayish at best. They get the job done and the sound quality compared to most other wireless earbuds is actually very good! The problem is how easily they can fall out of the ears which also present another problem. The earbuds have touch on the flat part of it which is nice because you wanna do somethings that don’t require you to open your phone, however, the idea is that you tap the side for its basic options (ex: Answer Calls, Play, Skip, etc.) but the killer here is the built in Alexa which yea its nice to have because Alexa on the go is pretty nice but like, so is a lot of other things your phone already has. Alexa is tap and hold to activate it so it listens. So if you rest your hand (or sometimes other objects) on that earbud you will constantly have to cancel it or respond to it. Honestly it would have been nicer of it being 4 taps to activate instead of press and hold. Finally the connection between both earbuds will often glitch a moment before tuning itself to the first earbud you put on, its a minor thing really but just had to point that out as well. The battery life on the case is amazing and the earbud alone can go for 4-5 hours which is really good for the price. Can do most of my things without having a problem to recharge so much. Inside of a car during a heatwave a lot of phones or anything technical will have problems and fail to work after, this one didn’t have any problem and still continued to work after! (Do not put in direct sunlight for long periods of time, this happened inside of a car with temperatures going 115 degrees.) Final Thoughts: Honestly I wouldn’t say it can compare to something like airpods because of the fact that the airpods were literally designed for iphone usage, but for a cheaper alternative these work pretty great! I got them near the start where there is hardly no such thing as a case to protect it but it does pretty alright on its own. Some connectivity issues every now and then but its pretty nice for budget wireless earphones. So unless you don’t wanna spend a pretty penny for airpods these are the next best thing!

Blows out it's market segment.
Preface: I bought these not for the intention of daily driving, but as a pair of simple TV listening headphones that my father can use with our Fire TV Cube, so as not to distract my mother who is usually reading peacefully in the living room. His current pair of earbuds, are the powerbeats pro, but they have a few disadvantages, like their lightning charging port, the rubber eartip that rarely stays attached to the bud, or their lack of multipoint bluetooth. These seemed to fit the bill in terms of simplicity, and I was glad to get them for him. Intentionally, I decided to wear them for a day or two just to get the hang of them, so I could help out my father later when problems inevitably showed up. Case: This is one area which needs desperate improvement. The case is nearly perfect, save for the indent which is supposed to allow one's finger to hook on the lip of the lid to open it. It's not deep enough, and the hinge has a bit of flex in it, meaning that when it's closed and I'm pressing down hard to get some purchase on the lid, I'll wind up pushing the lid backwards, making the lip created by the indent disappear. This is severely irritating, and I'll likely put a trimming of grip-tape on the lid just to make it easier to open. Outside of my qualms with opening it, the case has a matte but pretty finish, a little lightweight, and I can hear the earbuds rattle around inside when I shake it. Sound Quality: Flipping amazing. I compared these to my 2nd Gen Echo Buds (2021), and the bass is deeper, but the mids and trebles are not washed out in comparison. The sound is tightly controlled, rich and lovely to listen to, moreso than my 2021 buds which seem almost tinny in comparison. Even without sealing on my ear, I can hear everything, and whilst it might not sound the way the recording studio made it, it certainly sounds pleasant to my ears. Fit: Irritating to say the least... I do not like the silicone sleeve, so I took it off, but it seems Amazon is going in a particularly stupid direction here. The first-gen buds had a loop for the wingtip, which was difficult to get aligned properly but wasn't nearly as complex as the veritable harness that you have to slide on the 2nd gen buds. Now we have a sock of silicone, made of sticky, un-sliding silicone. Of course, the instructions say not to use the fingernail tip, but the thought is definitely there as I press and pull with my fingers all day to try and get the unmoving sleeve off. I got rid of them for a better fit, but not after a few requisite tries putting them on and pulling them off, to gauge how they felt on. The sleeve irritation aside, they fit well, much easier on the ears than the 2nd gen ones, even when I did get the sizing right. They don't go into one's ear canal, so there's a lot less pressure on that part of my ear, and it actually makes the listening experience surprisingly more enjoyable. Battery: Pretty good, the battery lasts fairly long... The sticker says 5 hours, but my intermittent usage says a bit longer. Amazon says you can push it farther if you disable Alexa handsfree, which I just might in favor of the long-press gesture since single/double/triple-tap take care of the rest of my desired media control maneuvers. Charging: It's a USB-C port. It seems to charge in less than an hour from fully dead when plugged in. I really wish they sold an upgraded version with wireless charging like they did for the 2021 buds, since they will otherwise turn into landfill the moment the USB-C port dies, which is thankfully less likely than the micro-USB only 2019 buds. Connectivity/Smarts: They connect just fine, although I get less Alexa info on the buds. My 2nd gen buds not only tell me when they connect or disconnect from a device, but I get an Alexa response telling me *what* device I am connected to (ex: "Connected to phone, connected to computer..."). These just play accompanying sounds that indicate they've connected to.... something. Outside of that, the rest of the smarts work perfectly fine, albeit missing the workout tracking feature. I feel that was mostly because of Amazon recently giving the Halo devices the Axe recently, which makes me sad since I really liked my Halo View. Microphones: They're serviceable, but nothing outstanding... This is mostly because the Bluetooth profile/protocol used for bidirectional audio is of significantly lower bitrate than the one used for one-way audio. I cannot tell the difference between these and my 2nd gen Echo buds. Conclusion: This puts me in an awkward position, because I really like the fit, sound, and battery of these new earbuds, but they're supposed to go to my father, and I already have a pair of 2nd gen Echo buds, which have the wireless charging and ANC that I also desire. In a perfect world, I would like to have an around-the-house pair of buds, wireless charging since they're frequently used, very nice sound, a lightweight battery, perhaps deliberately avoided noise isolation (eg: sound passes right through), and very comfortable. I would also have a pair of travel buds, with huge batteries, strong ANC for planes and trains, and an easy price so I don't have to worry too much about loosing them. So far, I have 2 pairs of buds, neither of which fit neatly into my preferred categories, but that's ok. I've placed an order for a second pair, for myself, since these are still going to be given to my father - I really don't want to give up on that sound quality, and that lazy fit for lazing about the house.

Really Great for the Price
I got these when they first came out and I've had them for about a month now. These are the first wireless earbuds I've ever purchased so I didn't know what to expect but so far I'm pleasantly surprised, especially considering how inexpensive they are. I think the sound is great. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch but I can definitely tell that these have much better sound quality than my wired earbuds. My only complaint from a sound standpoint is occasionally there will be interference or it will cut out. I assume this is just par for the course for something that's wireless / bluetooth, but it can be annoying and there have been a couple of times I needed to reconnect them to clear up an audio problem. It doesn't happen enough for it to be a deal breaker though, and it could just be my phone as it never happens with computer audio. As far as Alexa integration, these work great. I barely have to say "Alexa" above a whisper for the earbuds to activate, which is great when I'm in public and don't want to appear like I'm talking to myself. It also helps if I don't want to trigger one of my nearby Alexa devices, although even if I do, the proximity awareness of echo devices means that if I have my earbuds in, my other echo's won't pick up the command, which is great. From a comfort standpoint, I think my opinion is going to be subjective, after all, everyone's ears are different. I can keep these earbuds in for up to two hours before I need a break. I don't like to keep the earbuds in when I'm not using them so I keep the case in my pocket and take the earbuds out when I'm not using them. That keep my ears from getting tired. I think the battery life is great. Again, I usually only keep them in my ears for around 2 hours, but there have been a couple of times that I've keep them in for 4 to 5 hours and they've almost run completely out of power. In those cases, 15 to 20 minutes in the case and they are good as new. In addition to all this, I really like the features of these earbuds. They were very easy to setup with the Alexa app. They seamlessly connect to my phone and laptop at the same time and I can listen to audio from either device at any time without having to do any type of manual switching. I can be listening to audio on my laptop and if my phone rings, it will pause whatever is playing on my laptop to give me an opportunity to answer the phone. The tapping gestures are programable and straightforward, and I have the ability to summon both Alexa and Google's Assistant at any time either by voice or by a long-press. All in all, these are great. I'd say 4.5 stars instead of five, but since I can't do half stars, I feel like these are so good that it's better to round up than down. You honestly can't beat these for the price.

I have most echo devices…THIS is the first one I’m disappointed in.
Edit 12/4 I just want to reiterate that 1st. These buds are impossible to stay in my ears. I was in a rush yesterday and threw them in my bag along with my other, generic buds. I had an out of town appt and had charged my devices so I could listen to one of my books or podcasts enroute there and back. Because I also have Emergency Assist (which works GREAT by the way!); and I’m disabled, I need devices at all times. It’s also great that even in the van, 30 miles from home, I was able to turn my lights I forgot off. However, these buds popped out every time the van hit a bump. I was sitting and still, but a bump in the highway knocked both out of my ears. Thankfully, when we stopped and I turned the volume way up, my driver was able to find it under her seat. They even popped out at the doctor’s office. I only listened to a podcast in the van, but at the office, about 2 hours later, somehow my case that I’d fully charged, was down to 60%, my earbuds were at 20%. Luckily, I always carry my small 10k portable charger for both my phone and buds, (my out of town appointments are always an 8+ hour trip)..but having these less than 6 months and using them rarely; the battery seems to be rapidly depleting. As I said in my full review; even my cheapest generic buds I’ve had for over a year: stay in my ear and last 3 times as long-both buds and the case. I put these buds away at the office in the morning and wore my generic buds until I got home around 5. The buds had about 30% left, but their case was at 98%. And they never popped out. The tap controls are also a pain in the neck and no matter how careful I am when I re-adjust them, they activate every time I try and move them. Also, with 2 microphones in each; you would expect them to work well in phone calls…they don’t. Even here at the house, I’ve had to disconnect them from my phone because people can’t hear me and if I try and re-position them, I hang up on the person…OR my Apple Music from my iPad starts blaring in my ear. I’m older, but with my ex being a software engineer, plus being legally blind; I’m not a novice when it comes to technology and devices. I’m also good at improvising fixes for issues with whatever technology I’m using..but I can’t figure out a way to get these to stay in my ears. My driver suggested either taping them in or holding my hands over them…that ain’t happening! 😂 I just received my bigger show yesterday, have no issues and my girls love the bigger screen and much higher resolution. And as I said, your emergency assist works so good that several local paramedics and physicians are now recommending it to other Seniors and disabled folks. But these buds? Battery life & instability in the ears-I can’t recommend to anyone. I have a Fire HD 10, 2 Echo show’s, 2 echo dots and an echo pop. I also have other things like plugs, lights, an Amazon speaker and my watch which work with Alexa. I’m older, disabled with many health issues and I pay for Amazon Assist; I have been thrilled with all my other devices and how they make my life easier and safer. 3 years ago, as I have written before, my precious Kitty, my echo show, the little blink camera my girls hooked up to everything to keep an eye on me-they literally saved my life and my daughter took a screenshot of Kitty Leela attempting compressions…from the echo show camera. I’m VERY familiar with how everything works and after trying an inexpensive brand of ear buds, understanding they didn’t just fall out…I was excited to add the Echo earbuds. I’m legally blind and having a way to find them if one dropped out was perfect for me. Unfortunately, they don’t come close to meeting my expectations. I have tried everything and had my girls try when they were here-to connect them to both my phone and iPad. I connect easily to one device, but they don’t connect to both. Battery: I get a MAX of 3 hours after a full charge. I’m actually using my cheap ones more than these echo buds because they stay charged for up to 8 hours. I ONLY use the echo buds when the cheap ones are charging and even then, because they don’t stay in my ear as well, I usually only wear them in bed. The find your earbuds feature I was so excited about..here in the house, it’s no different than the cheap ones..turn the volume way up and find them through sound. I listen to mostly podcasts and videos with both earbuds and if anything, the cheap ones sound better than my echo buds..but, the difference is negligible. I also have issues with the controls-a problem I don’t have with the cheaper ones…but the echo buds I usually just control from my iPad or phone-it’s just too frustrating to keep skipping ahead 3 songs, podcasts or videos and then I have to go back on the device anyways. I had planned on writing something sooner; but we’ve had several emergencies the past few months. Unfortunately, because I don’t drive and a local taxi would cost as much, or more, than these earbuds did; returning them wasn’t an option. In the past 3-4 years I have gotten my girls, my best friend and some neighbors to purchase Echo/Amazon devices. My best friend, who’s a bit paranoid about the possibility of anyone listening in or watching them from devices…she wasn’t easy to convince until I had them compare other emergency assist programs for us old folks-they now have 2 echo’s. My girls were also hesitant until my Blink, echo show and precious Dr Kitty Leela saved my life. Last month I had every intention to purchase some echo glasses frames. My eye doctor said my thick lenses would fit and I thought we’d have even more peace of mind. After this experience with the buds though; I’m going to hold off. I live on social security and have to be very careful with my budgeting. Most of all, I’m just disappointed. I can’t afford it this month because of recent health emergencies for me and Kitty Leela; but, when I can, I’m going to get another pair of the cheaper earbuds. I’ll put my Echo earbuds in my hospital bag. I noticed they seem to work a bit better when they aren’t surrounded by other echo devices.
