After 10+ years, this stuff is awesome! Start with 1 drop. I repeat... start with 1 DROP!!
I have been using this (advanced tarter) practically ever day for many years over 4 dogs. I told my local pet stores and vets about it over 8 years ago. I used to buy original (before advanced came out) for a long time (can't remember how many years) from petsmart/petco before I found advanced on Amazon. I just saw that my first purchase on Amazon was April 2012. Advanced works better. Not sure why there is an original. Use half of what it says for advanced. I've been doing that way... 10+ years or so? Yes, I still brush when needed, usually 1-2 times every day for a week to clear things up, then maybe not again for many months. Just monitor. Once upon a time, many moons ago, my American Eskimo's teeth (Schubert) was getting build up after 11yrs. I also had 2 younger mini Aussie cousins Jake and Rosie - Rosie had bad teeth genetically and lost several teeth including one of her canines. I brushed all there teeth at least a few times a month even back then. After research into things and seeing this newfangled technology stuff, I had to try it - especially after what my little girl had gone through. Amazing is all I can say. I wish I knew about it before. Chunks of plaque were literally popping off just with a light fingernail pressure, the rest just fell off. The vet said I must be brushing them every day. I told her and she hadn't heard about it back then, but said if it is sold in petsmart/petco, they usually do their homework to not sell unsafe products. 9 Years ago, 8/1/2011, while I still had Jake left, I got an abandoned just born gem of a girl dog Nola (yes, from New Orleans visiting family). She is a mix 1/4 lab, 1/4 boxer, 1/8 golden, 1/8 rottie and rest of 1/4 not determined on wisdom panel. It's been in her water virtually every day of her life. A year ago, I went to a new vet and he didn't believe she was 8 when looking at her teeth. He said he would have guessed 3 maybe. Not sure where the bad reviews are coming from, but, with this and anything else, you should slowly introduce your dog to things they ingest. A couple years ago I told my neighbor, and they dumped a cap full in a small bowl for their small dog and complained it didn't drink it. I told them to go back to fresh water for 2 days (to forget maybe) and then put 1 DROP in a full bowl. No problem. They worked their way to about half strength - which is what I recommend. Nasty breath and teeth are good now.

Excellent water additive kills bad breath
Well, first off, the first bottle I bought lasted MONTHS. Even in summer, when I was washing and refilling my dog's bowl several times a day! She's a little dog (20lbs), so her bowl isn't huge, but I am still impressed! I bought a separate water jug with different colors than our regular fridge water, so everyone could tell where the dog water was. This meant I spent less time mixing up her water and more time giving her water. Highly recommend this method! It drastically improved her breath and it did so very quickly. She went from KO at ten feet to hmm, smells a bit like dog food at point blank range. Then we started giving her a dental treat once a day. Now her breath is downright pleasant. I didn't know that was possible! She smells faintly herbal, even if she's snoring in my face. What a blessing! I've finally purchased a second bottle, because we're running low. Her plaque is about 50% better than it was when we started. It was bad, she's very old and has already had teeth removed. She doesn't like dental toys, she can't chew on most treats because of her teeth, and she becomes violent if you try to do anything with her mouth. We're working on it (we haven't had her very long!) and she's improving, but her teeth are improving way faster! If we can get her to accept us brushing her teeth, we might be able to avoid an expensive, full sedation dental cleaning! I am deeply grateful for what this water additive has done for my elderly dog. Her teeth are still very gross, it's not a miracle worker, but they're so much better than they were. Her breath smells amazing and she's much more pleasant to be around. Everybody wins here.

Made my dogs breath tolerable!
Would recommend! TL;DR- helps freshen breath but does not eliminate the bad breath. I have an old dog with pretty bad teeth and he has a nasty habit of eating his own poop. So his breath is pretty bad to say the least. This definitely helps make his breath tolerable and for that- it’s a win. My dogs looked at the water for a little bit before drinking. But once they drank it- it looked like it didn’t taste any different as they kept drinking and haven’t really looked at it again.
