Wish we had known about this item years ago. We keep ours in our salt pig Terracotta Salt Piglet and use it to pick up small quantities of salt instead of using fingers. So much better, more hygenic. The bowl is just the right size and the handle is exactly the right length. Not too heavy to pick up yet feels reassuringly solid and perfectly balanced in the hand. Made from real wood, not metal or plastic. Beautifully crafted, immaculately finished, should last a lifetime and needs no batteries. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the selection of material and the simple yet efficient design. We've discovered all sorts of uses for this spoon - picking up individual frozen peas, scooping miniature ice-cream balls etc. Try acorn and salt-spoon racing for a family fun variation on the traditional egg & spoon race . . . bet you can't make it twice round the dining table without dropping the acorn! The scope for this amazing tool is limited only by your own imagination. This is an absolute kitchen must-have item. We really like this spoon a lot. Looks like we'll have to order a few more of these to stop our kids from fighting over which of them is going to inherit the one we currently have. It's brilliant but it's a bit too small
I love the idea of this spoon and it looks fabulous in my salt pig. Only gripe is that it's really very small so you have to go back in several times for a big pot of stew. I reckon it'd be better suited for fine salt.

Much smaller than expected
This spoon almost disappears in my new Le Creuset salt pig. It is so small I need at least two spoonfuls to season anything. Not very well made - I would not recommend this product.
