Do NOT buy this junk, will not connect to WiFi, D-Link offers NO support.
Absolute garbage. Spent hours trying to connect this to my network. So disgusted with this. No suporton the website, no trouble shooting, no response from support. By now this kind of product has been around long enough that this shouldn't be happening. It should be as simple as adding any other device to the WiFi. You select the network, enter the password, and you're done. But this requires an app, and QR codes and all kinds of steps none of which do a damn thing. Will be returning.

Doing itโs job
I didnโt have any issues getting this camera connected and working. Giving it 4-stars instead of 5 because it does not have an ethernet port. Note, that if your wifi network is not broadcasting your SSID (aka network name) it takes another step or two to enter it manually. The โmanuallyโ part is not in the instructions so best way to get around that is to try to connect to another network near-by, maybe a neighbor, who is broadcasting their SSID, let the camera โfailโ then scroll down and add yours. The 8526 cams are alot better but no longer available. If I wasnโt already using DLink I would (or will later) go with another brand.

Best D-link camera to get for indoor use
Works great, the color isnโt as vibrant as the previous models but it makes up for it in a sharper much more detailed image, must be higher megapixels same resolution. It works great, and the color black is better doesnโt reflect as much if placed on a window ledge looking out into the yard.

Unreliable
I have one of the old DCS-8525LH-US and it works great - this thing is an unreliable piece of junk - I can always connect to my old Dlink camera but this one is hit and miss on the same network where I have verified my Wifi signal strength and speed is the same is the same as it is at the other cameras location. Since they discontinued the old more reliable model I am going to buy a refurbished version and return this pile of trash.

Works great at night and during the day!
We have had trouble with someone coming to our house and causing issues. This works great inside and we also left it on our porch chair just in case they came to the front door. It was covered so it didn't get rained on. It caught a lot of deer outside our front door. We didn't even realize we had that many in our neighborhood! LOL

Nifty little cameras.
Bought two of these. They both arrived overnight! Had a problem with one camera having a different password/wifi id that it was unconfigurable/didnt match even after hard-resets. Return/exchange process was seemless. New camera arrived a lot earlier than initially was listed!

Good cameras when connected
Have two of these and one looses wifi connection more than it should. Needs to be rebooted too often. Would not buy again

Great security camera. Been operating for 9 months, works perfectly, no issues
Setup is easy, works well without glitches, surprisingly sensitive to motion

Killer Camera
After Telus ripped me off for $400 on their crappy stationary camera and security package, I dropped them and bought two of these DLink cameras. Not only can you store content on MicroSD or Cloud, but the picture quality is excellent and they *PAN*. Robust software too, so you can control many options of what to record and when and follow a target, etc. Terrific value for the money. Telus? Not so much.

Nowhere near as good as my DCS-8526LH - Disappointing Lack of Features!
I'm basing my review in comparison to my other D-Link security camera (DCS-8526LH). First, the setup was painful. After 5 attempts of the cam refusing to connect to my wifi, I switched off the Mesh and 5G in my router settings, and it finally connected to my network. Still works after I switched the Mesh and 5G back on, but there was nothing in the instructions telling me I had to disable it for installation. Firmware update went without a hitch. Minus 1/2 star. Next, there is no mounting hardware for this cam, although there is a small brass thread in the middle of the base, possibly for a tripod (why?) but nothing that would allow you to install/mount it inverted out-of-the-box. This camera seems suited for desk/bookshelf locations - window sill locations may be a bit risky unless you can stick it down. Minus 1 star. EDIT: I was able to use a spare 6mm diameter bolt & nut, and attach it to an old window blind mounting bracket, upside down. Image inversion setting works. Perhaps the most important factor is the image quality. Daytime image quality is contrasty with some noise at the left- and right-hand edges, so overall I would give it 3/5, even at the 1080p setting. I don't plan on using the Night Vision, as the cam is behind glass. Same for the motion detection. Nighttime image quality was 2/5 (even more noisy, even with adequate street lighting). Minus 1 star for that. There's a really annoying crackling sound when viewing the camera through the Google Home app. This doesn't seem to be an issue if I view it through the myDlink app, or if I disable the mic in the app. Minus 1/2 star - hopefully a future firmware update will fix that. Power supply is a standard USB brick with a ~1.5m micro-USB cord. Nowhere near as long as the one my DCS-8526LH came with. You will most likely need to buy an extra long micro-USB charging cord, unless you're lucky to have a nearby outlet. Also, don't get suckered into the cloud subscription service. It's only good as long as the camera is connected to the internet. There is no ethernet port on this model (unlike the DCS-8526LH) so the reliability isn't going to be acceptable. Better to invest in a 256Gb microSD card and go with continuous recording. That should last you a month before you need to wipe the card. EDIT: having inserted a microSD card and formatted it in the app, I cannot see any options for continuous recording, only for events! There is also no "Voice Notifications" option in the Google Home app for this model of camera (vs my DCS-8526LH). So, minus 1 more star = 1 star overall rating. Conclusion: a very disappointing product for the price, hence the 1 star, and it will likely be the last D-Link security camera I'll buy. This camera is more suited as a pet monitor than a serious security product.
