First words in Japanese
Same old format from the same duo, and not just for children! Measuring around 23 cm x 30 cm, the 64 page paperback is colourfully illustrated by Stephen Cartwright with the usual scenes...and, never mind what language...find the duck! ~ First Thousand Words in Japanese ~ Usborne Publishing Ltd ~ 2014 'A classic bilingual English/Japanese word book illustrated with busy scenes and labelled pictures to help children learn key Japanese vocabulary. Next to each picture, the Japanese word is written in kana, the Japanese syllabic signs often used for beginners, along with a transliteration in Roman letters. Includes a short introduction to kana with a simple pronunciation guide and an English/Japanese list of all the words in the book. Readers can hear how to pronounce all the words by listening to a native speaker on the Usborne Quicklinks website.'

Excellent
I was recommended this by my Japanese tutor as a study aid. Whilst I haven't actually used it in any lessons yet it is nicely illustrated as well as clear and concise. I know that she has used it before to help other students also.

Great book for learners
I love this series and the Japanese edition continues this well known format. The only negative point for me is that I would have liked to see a few more native Japanese items included.

This is so useful. The words are very simple with good quality images so you know what you are looking at. Amazing, definitely recommend

Great book
As I'm starting to learn Japanese I found this book very useful for labelling everyday items and it also includes animals, colours, numbers and shapes which was an added bonus for me. This product is also very cute but can be confusing what the picture is showing sometimes but can be cleared up with a quick dictionary search.

Missing the kanji is terribly unforgivable as only incomplete knowledge is provided.

Great book for getting some vocabulary. While it has the hirigana readings of the words (and romaji), or would also be nice to have the kanji, where appropriate. Basically, I’m looking for an edition for older readers that can help me not just learn how to hear/speak the words, but also how to read them. Given that that is not the intended audience, however, I won’t hold it against this book. Also, it could be a fun learning exercise to fill out the kanji.

Creo que lo unico que echaría en falta es la traducción en la misma página donde lo estás leyendo en ro-maji para saber a lo que se refiere exactamente, especialmente con algunas acciones, etc..
