Sharon Covington provides excellent guidance to the clinician who wishes to competently work in the field of reproductive health. The complexities individuals and couples encounter when navigating infertility and family forming are unique to each person. There is no one size fits all to counseling or any aspect of fertility medicine. I especially encourage clinicians outside of counseling to read the Second Edition Fertility Counseling Clinical Guide and Case Studies. Often we forget about the stress involved outside of the procedure (s) and the numbers. Each member of the team will benefit from this book. Must read for clinicians and teams .

Sharon Covington and her esteem colleagues have done an amazing job of executing another well written and researched two-volume addition of Fertility Counseling, this time as a Clinical Guide (Vol. I) and Case Studies (Vol. II). As clearly stated in her book, clinicians, colleagues and authors have spent their careers advocating for a collaborative reproductive healthcare model. These two volumes present new and updated material that have not been addressed in previous areas of practice. The clinical volume addresses the need of staying ahead of the fertility industry, as it is changing so rapidly. Sharon uses the analogy of building a house. Starting with laying the foundation and slowly integrating the medical, psychological and psychosocial aspects of the complexities of MAR. I particularly appreciate the case studies addition, as it puts theoretical ideologies into real practice. I also appreciate each author/clinician giving a short bio and sharing their personal experiences in working with various populations. Top notch material for any clinician working with clients experiencing reproductive challenges as well as those already working in the reproductive medicine arena.
