These are typical Doc Marten quality and seem fairly well made. I liked the slight platform on them and the idea that I could slip them on and go. That's not the case for me because they are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. I've had multiple pairs of shoes by Doc Martens before so I know they can take a bit to break in. As others have noted, these have a very stiff insole. I happen to like this as it makes adding inserts easy as the insole of these are flat and solid. My issue is that the stiff insole with the non-stretchable leather upper with the cut of the toe box for this shoe means there is literally no wiggle room in this shoe if you have bunions. To wear these shoes, I would need to wear a special non-reusable bunion bandage every time which would be very expensive. So while I like these in theory, the overall effect on this part of my foot is unbearable. I've tried different socks, sleeves, and padding options- none work besides the single use bandage. And you cannot use shoe stretchers on these because of the back strap getting stretched out. I wound up selling my pair second hand as the return window has expired by the time I realized they were never going to work for me.

I love these shoes just afraid of them not lasting long because the fabric they are made out of is flimsy. Other than that they are beautiful, easy to slip on & can be worn year round.

Size 4 men is equivalent to a size 5 women. I am typically a size 5.5-6 in US women. I ordered unisex Dr. Martens size 4 men (5 women) and they fit snug but they fit well. These are well designed and constructed shoes that appear to be able to hold up and last for awhile. I find these shoes both comfortable and stylish. You could wear these shoes in all seasons although I do not recommend wearing these in any wet condition weather as the material could get messed up.
