Serious Coverage...
I bought an extra large size despite being a borderline medium/large person because I wanted to be sure it was long enough in the sleeves and overall drop to give good protection. This it does, although the hood is so big it's a bit of a problem. Wearing it over a hat might help. Despite the extra size, it isn't too loose when worn over a jacket, but because of its straight-down drainpipe cut the circumference at the hemline is no wider than the circumference around the chest. If you walk with anything approaching a stride this is somewhat restrictive, even with the two bottom fasteners undone. If you want to run for a bus you'll probably have to hitch it up. The first time I wore it out was on a reasonably chilly day but not raining. Although the coat seems pretty wind-proof, it doesn't do much in the way of thermal insulation. There is a definite sense of heat being conducted away across the back of the shoulders. I was out for about an hour doing nothing particularly strenuous, but when I took the coat off the inside was slick with moisture, suggesting the material does not 'breathe' or 'wick moisture away' very much. It would imply waterproofing though. However... The second time I wore it out, it was raining cats and dogs all day. I was out in it for about five hours, walking around town. This time when I took the coat off I found significant damp patches on my jacket in lines across the top of both shoulders, and smaller irregular patches on the back, front and sleeves. Not enough to soak through to the inside of my jacket, not as much as would have come through a standard 'showerproof' raincoat, but still... Possibly capillary action along the seams? Who knows. Maybe the only certain way to stay dry is not to go out in the rain.

Perfect
This was a present for my son. He loves it and it does the job perfectly.

Very waterproof but causes sweat.
This is great for keeping out the rain, but with no lining it can result in getting sweaty.

This is definitely not waterproof
Use this for only the second time for walking the dog in the pouring rain when I got home found that all my clothes were soaking wet?

Disappointing Quality: Coat Rips After Minimal Wear
I purchased the coat in January, but just a few days after wearing it, it tore with the slightest movement from my partner. Considering the price I paid, I expected higher quality and durability.
